CanadaAppropriate time to move stuff....
Hello,

My boyfriend lives in Portland Oregon and I live in Vancouver BC.
We are looking to begin our "Visa Journey" near the end of the year or the beginning of next year. We've started researching and have decided that when the time is right we will go the K-1 route.

I will be moving back to my parents house in the next few months, to save money and spend a little more time with them before my big move. I am self employed and have a rather flexible schedule so I'm planning on making longer (2-3 weeks) and more frequent (monthly) visits to Portland starting in August. Currently, he drives up to me every Friday and returns home every Sunday.

He just moved into the city which means his new place is substantially smaller than his previous suburban apartment. He no longer has space for some of his larger furniture ie. dining table, tv stand etc. and has gotten rid of it. Since I am moving back home to my parents place, I have no where to store my furniture which suits a smaller place and would look great in my boyfriends new place.

Do you think it would be a problem if he were to take some pieces with him when he returns home on Sundays?
Would it look like we were trying to be sneaky?
We intend to go through the entire process with 100% honesty and follow all the rules.
I just have furniture that I don't need that he does need.
Has anyone had any similar situations?

I would really appreciate all of your feedback.

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEngagment ring and bringing across the border...
My fiance Ben lives in Portland Oregon and I live in Abbotsford BC. He has been coming up to see me almost every weekend since 2008, so the border guards are pretty familiar with him and he is pretty used to their random searches etc.
A lot of times they would explicitly ask him "are you bringing an engagement ring'' and he had always answered no. The day that he did bring an engagement ring with him, they asked if he was bringing any gifts so of-course he told them about the ring. He was asked to go inside the office to pay GST which ended up being $420.00. It sucks, but if they ask you, then it's better to be honest. You never know when they will decide to search your vehicle.
