USCIS Service CentersUSCIS Website?
Well, basically, nothing from the USCIS domain will load for me. It'll stop at 2.6 Kb (That's if I'm lucky!) and after 25 seconds my internet browser will tell me that no such domain exists. I've tried three different browsers (IE, FireFox, and Opera) and even turned off my firewall. Still, I get the same response from the internet. Unfortunately, I don't have easy access to another internet connection, except at work...but they have the almighty, alcrappy INTRANET that only allows internet access to the company's sites and services. I've never run into a problem like this before in all my years of tinkering with computers.

And rea, I tried that site that you linked me. The first page loaded up okay. Everything I clicked on did the exact same thing that the main USCIS website would do. It either failed to load or stopped at 2.6 Kb.

USCIS Service CentersUSCIS Website?
Okay, here's the scoop... I live in Indiana. My fiancee is in Australia. I can't and haven't been able to access www.uscis.gov since April, however she can. Is it just me or is there something wrong with this picture? Is anyone else experiencing problems with the website or is it just me? Or...dare I say, is it just us Americans?

Does anyone have any ideas about this?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJust a quick question about the I-129F.
Just a quick question... I'm starting to fill out the I-129F and came across a question that's somewhat puzzled me.

10. My citizenship was acquired through (check one)
X Birth in the U.S. O Naturalization
Give number of certificate, date and place it was issued.

O Parents
Have you obtained a certificate of citizenship in your name?
O Yes O No
If "Yes," give certificate number, date and place it was issued.

Hey, thanks. I figured that it wouldn't matter, but, as I said, better safe than sorry. :P

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMaking copies of documents...
Hey, everyone!

I've got a bit of a redundant question, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I'm currently making copies of all my documents (birth cirtificate, travel iteneraries, passport, etc.) for submission of the I-129F on Saturday (hopefully). Um, will the USCIS accept copies made by a scanner and printer, or will I have to take my stuff to some sort of copy place (IE Kinkos)?

Thanks in advance.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about copies of the check.

No, no... You guys have misunderstood me. I'm sending the real check off today with the petition. I was just curious if the USCIS'd have a problem with void written across or account numbers blacked out on copies of my check that I'd need for future packets that I'd have to send off.

The copies are for your reference. You are unlikely to be sending off a copy of your check to anyone but I would write "Copy" instead of "Void" if the need arises. I see no need to black out the check numbers. They already had that information from your original check.

Oh, okay. Cool. Thanks!

Okay. So I'm sending off the I-129F petition today. I've made a digital copy of the check. My question is, will they have a problem with the word "VOID" going across the copy? If not, how big should it be and whereabouts should it be located on the copy of the check.

Thanks in advance, guys!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGetting info about our case...
I've got a question...

I've been trying to call the USCIS to get information about whether or not that even looked at it since they received it in July or if they've sent me an RFE. I've called the general number a few times and got an automated response telling me that they have no information and that I have to contact the service center handling my case. Do I really have to do this?

If so, what the number for the California service center? I've searched all over and cannot find it.

Thanks in advance.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFilling out the I-134...
Okay, I'm having a bit of trouble filling out the I-134. In the spot where it asks for the "name of concern" on number 7, they are asking for the name of the company I work for, yes? If that is the case, what do you do when the name of the company is too large for the space provided?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about the NVC...
QUOTE (Sha and Scott @ Dec 6 2007, 03:46 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I guess it's best to call NVC after 3 or 4weeks. As to our case, we started calling NVC after 4weeks and until now they haven't received our approved petition yet. We were approved last October 29. It's been 39 days already. I think you still have few weeks to wait coz you had your NOA2 Nov. 28... For your case nothing to worry for now.

Yeah. I had read that a lot of people still hadn't been sent off to the NVC yet, which I kept in mind when I was told that we weren't in the system. I was just more or less irked by the fact that he was somewhat rude to me and sent me on some sort of snape hunt.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about the NVC...
I called the NVC yesterday afternoon to find out if they've received our case yet. The guy I spoke with on the phone first said that our case number was not in the computer. Then he remarked about how the notice date on the NOA2 was fairly recent (Nov. 28th), which I was somewhat expecting. He, then, proceeded to have me read the information in the middle of the page:

"The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate." (There isn't one listed...) "Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would now like them to forward the petition to a different consulate. The petitioner can also file Form I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition

Just a quick question, my mother is a registered notarizer. Would the consulate look at it strangely if she was the one who notarized my Affidavit of Support? Thanks in advance!
