I can just feel the mistakes stacking up...

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresProcessing times for I-130at US Embassy Tegucigalpa Honduras
I thought I would start this thread as I didn't see another one like it in the search.
I figured that maybe some could share their experiances here or, that perhaps it could be used as a guide for someone else later on.

I am a US citizen and legal Honduran resedent.
I married my wife in Feb. 2007, I applied for my wife and step-daughter's visas at the embassy here in Tegucigalpa.

Because I am a legal resedent with proof of living here I was able to apply at the embassy without the expense of having to fedex a bunch of documents to the USA, or having to wait there away from my family while this is all being processed. Thank God for that!
We do however plan to move back as soon as we get this taken care of.

Anyways I was told that if there are any problems they'll call me, other wise I will be notified of the desicion within about 4-5 months by mail.

So my question is has anybody applied for these at this embassy (or one anywhere else for that matter), and how long did it take for the whole process?

Nov. 19th 2007 Applied I-130s for wife and step-child, paid fees at embassy.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI130 and I129f HELP PLEASE
Wow, that's too bad about your lawyer. I got the basics from a family friend (who is an immigration lawyer) and filed it myself based on her recommendation, saved me a bundle!

There was a recent announcement by USCIS that stated that Naturalization cases file after June 1 will take as long as 18 months. Maybe your lawyer is confusing this with Spouse/Fiance cases. All cases will likely take longer than usual, but the 16-18 month estimate is specifically for Naturalization (citizenship) cases.

As a result, average processing times for certain application types may become longer. In particular, naturalization applications filed after June 1, 2007 may take approximately 16 - 18 months to process.

I hope unsure.gif this is very frustrating .. I see to other cases approved already, with petitions file later that ours and we are yet in waiting

I checked out the USCIS processing times for the CSC https://egov.uscis.g...eviceCenter=CSC

They still show a processing time of 6 months on I-130 apps, and processing I-129F apps from April 29th 2007, thats going on 8 months. I'm guessing your I-130 will be approved long before your i-129f.

I don't see much reason to worry.

I wouldn't think it would take THAT long to process. I'm pretty sure they are talking about something else. Don't get too stressed smile.gif

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCant USCIS be sympathetic to us??
It sucks, but it's hard to put a face and personality to a form when your dealing with who knows how many per day. Being a people person is not a job requirement for government service.

We are just stacks of paper in an office, data and statistics, just another number in the choked system.
Anyone who has ever worked for the federal gov. knows the GS pay scale is a joke.

The result you have too few people, with too high a work load, and lousy pay, the up side is it's a lot harder to get fired.

People can get jaded really fast, I imagine just as most people hate their jobs that the people at USCIS probably feel the same way.

I too know what it's like to deal with people on paper, it doesn't take very long before you forget that it's a real human being and not just data on a computer.

They'll get to you, just keep trying to hold out a little longer.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresTax returns question?
You have till april so I would guess that you should be OK on that one. Most people don't even get their W2s till mid to late January anyways so early feb would be pushing it.
