I was recently married to a Jamaican national. She has been in the USA for a few years on a student visa. Her visa expired last year but she is still residing with me here in the USA. My question is this...when I called immigration about which forms to submit I was told...I-130, I485, I-864, I-765(optional), I-131, G325A. Since the total fees for these forms are over $2,000 I asked if they all had to be filed at the same time. Immigration said yes - all should be filed with the I-130. Does anyone know if this is absolutely necessary? Can the I-130 be filed first and the others filed after the first NOA?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

There's really no point in filing the I-130 without the I-485 and no real need to file teh I-765 or I-131 in your case. G325a has no fee. I'd file the I-130 and I-485 with supporting documentation together when you're ready. She needs to stay in the USA until the green card is in hand.

Thanks so much for the advice...that is kinda what I was thinking myself!
