K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresgeneral discussion
HI ALL,
I WILL ATTEMPT TO KEEP THIS AS STRAIGHT FORWARD AS POSSIBLE.
I AM A U.S. BORN U.S. CITIZEN. I HAVE RESIDENCES IN BOTH U.S. AND IN CANADA AND CAN LIVE
IN EITHER COUNTRY LEGALLY, HOWEVER MY GIRLFRIEND/FIANCEE, WHO IS A CANADIAN BORN
CANADIAN CITIZEN, CURRRENTLY LIVES IN CANADA. I AM IN CANADA WITH HER. WE WANT TO GET MARRIED. IN ONE YEAR WE WANT TO LIVE IN THE STATES AND GO TO SCHOOL AND WORK THERE.
QUESTION: WHICH IS FASTER TO GET DONE? FILE A 129F AND GET MARRIED IN THE STATES ASAP
OR GET MARRIED IN CANADA ASAP AND FILE A I130 AND THEN A K3. WHICH IS FASTER?
THANKS MUCH

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWHERE TO MARRY, U.S. OR CANADA?
Hey,
Sorry for using all caps. Excuse me.
I am a PR in Canada. I have seen and heard that I130s can take up to 2 years to process.
Is that assumption to be made with I129f as well? What is DCF?
thanks

I HAVE PROPERTY IN BOTH COUNTRIES AND CAN LIVE IN EITHER ONE LEGALLY. WE WANT TO LIVE IN THE STATES IN 1 YEAR. WHICH IS FASTER ? I WOULD BE DEALING WITH VERMONT AND CONSUL IN
HALIFAX. ANY EXPERIENCES?

Hello Everyone,
I am a Dual citizen of US and Canada born in U.S. Last June my Canadian girlfriend and I got married in Canada. We have residences in both U.S. and Canada but want to be in U.S. to finish building our house and take care of my severely ailing 89 year old father. As I understand it, I can file the I-130 from within U.S. but she cannot return if she leaves to see her ailing mother in Canada. Is there any way for her to be able to leave the U.S. and then return while her papers are being processed? Also, should I file for a CR-1 rather than I-130?
Thank you

CanadaDCF I864 paid taxes in Canada
Hi,
Need I864 help here...thanks for all your replies. I am a Permanent Resident of Canada and I
have been paying taxes in Canada every year for 9 years and I am paid and filed up to date.
I am also a USC wanting to file a DCF I130 after marrying my Canadian girlfriend in Canada.
Recently, this past June I received a disability income from the US that is non taxable in the U.S>
This will be my SPOUSAL support income for the I864. QUESTION; Since I have not previously had any
income nor filed taxes from or in the U.S. for over 9 years DO I have to have IRS forms to file
with my I864....remember, a person cannot be taxed twice on the same income or is a letter
describing the above sufficient for NVC? HELP PLEASE
