Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)221(g) at Delhi Embassy

The CO gave me 221g for birth certificate of affidavit and I think its AP.

no it doesn't mean that you are in AP most of the time they tell during the interview . You should see AP option in 221g form if its not selected then you are not at the moment. Just submit every they listed in 221g asap.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)221(g) at Delhi Embassy

Hey VJ's please help. I just want to know what are the chances of me getting the visa ?

221(g) doesn't mean that you are refused. when they need additional documents, they give 221(g) which states there what additional documents are needed and i don't think that you need to worry about your petition validity. you don't need to extend it. As far as beneficiary submit documents( DS156. DS156k etc ) to the embassy within that validity period you are fine. i submit my documents one week before the expiration date of my petition. My interview was on 23rd jan. CO asked me petitioner's statement of intent to marry which i didn't have so he gave me 221(g) and told me to submit that statement and passport. Note that my petition was already expired. i submit those two docs a week later. Since i am Pakistani national so i was worried about this additional processing thing so i called DOS ( department of state) on 9th feb to find out the latest update of my case and they told me that i am approved.

In you case i would suggest to submit everything they have listed in 221(g) form n then a week later call DOS to find out about your case and i don't think you are refused cos they just asked you docs to submit so that they can issue your fiancee a visa.

DOS number is +1 202 663 1225 then select option 1 and then 0. you will directed to visa officer they will ask you her case number

Did CO tell you at the time of interview that he/she is putting you under AP? Normally they do.

United KingdomQuestion regarding US visa photos

You'll be going to London for your medical before the interview. There's places on Oxford St near the Bond St. tube station that advertise American sized pasport photos. Or Gould's Pharmacy where you will store your electronic items before going to the interview also take photos. You don't need them until the interview.

To make your own, the US Dept of State offers a nifty tool where you upload a photo and it sizes it properly. We just used that for my passport renewal and husband's citizenship application. I thought it was way easier than the online services that will do it free but try to sell you photos along the way.

Scroll down this page for the uploader http://www.travel.st...toreq_5333.html

the one near bond street is called passport photo http://passportphoto.co.uk/..they charged me £7.50 for two photograph..

United Kingdomvisa approved
hello everyone. i posted my interview experience yesterday but i don't see my post here so here i am posting again

Had my interview yesterday at 8 am, was in and out within an hour and only got asked question related to my fiancee like how did you meet? what is your fiancee's job? How many times did you guys met? and, have you ever been to America? ( i said no as I never been to America).

He didn't ask for any relationship evidence, just looked at photos we'd submitted with our original petition.

He then asked me petitioner's statement of intent to marry which i didn't have.
He then handed me refusal letter stating to submit additional evidence (petitioner's statement of intent to marry) but my interviewer said once they received that my visa would be approved.

I am so excited we got approved it feels so great

I would like to thank those who answered my questions and helped me out and good luck to everyone.

United KingdomAre you currently in ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING?

For some reason I always read those posts thinking guy, but really have no clue. You're probably right.

Edit: Looked up in a search--

My interview was 22nd Feb and it went well and I was approved. 17 days later I still had no passport so I called to see if it had been lost...I was told that I was in AP. My husband has contacted his senator and his congressman numerous times. Still waiting

Treehugger is female.

so they can put any case in " AP" without informing or giving AP handout at the interview?

ya thats what they asked me in my interview and told me to submit petitioner's certified/notorised statement of intent to marry. i didn't carry as it wasn't required according to London US embassy website. Someone suggested that they asked for it because six months had passed between my petition approval and interview but its good to have it in you case.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresShots for medical
tdap, influenza are just one shot but MMR is two shot series. 2nd shot is after 4 weeks.

you can take those shots from anywhere but you need to take that proof with you when you go for your medical exam. if you complete on or before your medical exam then don't need any further vaccination or i-693 form
zee481MaleUnited Kingdom2012-01-05 01:42:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresShots for medical
As been said above, you don't need to have vaccinations at this stage but it will save you future headache and money if you completed your vaccinations in you home country.

if you go down this link, you will see a chart explaining which vaccines are needed according to age

http://www.cdc.gov/i...structions.html

for example i am 29yr old so i only needed to have tdp, MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) and influenza. I had chickenpox so they just marked VH for varicella and every other vaccines is mark as " not age appropriate". When you will go for your medical, you should take any vaccination record with you. they will give a copy of form DS-3025. Note that if your vaccination requirement is complete then you just need to submit a copy of DS-3025 for AOS which will be your next step after when you enter USA. You don't need to submit i-693 form for AOS.

i-693 is really a headache as civil surgeon need to sign it and sealed in an envelope. They can charge you anything they like. and they can ask you to do the medical again with them meaning another $250-$300.

hmm that's interesting.

we decided to take photocopies of everything submitted to them (just to be safe), personal 'stories' and some photos. plus passport, photos, entrance letter..

our lawyer says they only recently changed their policy to requiring 'original' versions of stuff, and that we shouldnt need the originals of the financial information.

good to go! :)

when is your interview? their website doesn't say anything about originals for everything except for police and birth certificates. i got one letter before my interview letter in which they returned original copy of my birth certificate and police certificate that i should bring these document on the day of my interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNo documents required.. ?

Hi there,

This place looks really useful and i've read some of your threads about what happens on the interview day, advice on the interview itelf and so-on..

but i still have a question about what to take.

My wife is American, i'm from the UK.
The letter says - i must bring any documents that:

- were requested and weren't submitted ( as far as i know all were submitted, no further requests )
- bring medical examination results ( as far as i know the knightsbridge doctors sen the embassy these, i have no copy )
- bring two photos - OK NP
- I1864 was filled but income tax extension was NOT used in lieu of a tax return ( so no need to bring that )
- Passport

- and it also says to 'note even tho the applicant may have provided the NVC with a copy of the document you must bring the original to the interview' ..

I have provided all the documents that were required, and they have already received original copies of birth, marriage, court records, police certificate.

looking at the letter's list of items requested and the items marked 'Y' (requested document has been received) as opposed to 'O' (for original document received) the only things they dont have originals of but have copies of are: the application parts 1&2, and the financial evidence.

sooo, what do i take?

passport, 2 photos and.. ? maybe originals of bank statements?

anything else?
our lawyer told us to bing some proof of our relationship, 'our story' and photos..

Thanks in advance ! :)

I have applied K1 visa but my interview letter doesn't say anything like above,,its just date and time. my interview in 23rd jan, london

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 question - US citizen born abroad

I guess they suggested K-1 for you since you are engaged. If marriage is in your near future, I'd definitley suggest DCF. It's a short, easy process, your spouse will get a gc right away and it will be all taken care of before you even leave the UK.
But: You have to be married.
Also, but I might be wrong, I don't think you need to even deal with co-sponsors. !?

I have a question regarding your dual citizenship: Don't you have to give up one of your citizenships when you are 18? That's what we were told when our son was born who is a dual- us/german citizen

Oddly I had not heard of DCF until Penguin suggested it, the US Embassy in London keep it nicely hidden on their website! The more I read about it the more I think that IS the best option for us...the wedding date isn't set yet while we figure this out so we can always pull it up a few months. Sounds like a huge money and time saver. You can't use co-sponsors from what I see, you just have to prove domicile or intent to re-establish residence in the US for cases like my own where you were abroad first due to parents and then due to studies. So I'm sending off an enquiry to the embassy to get my head around this.

To answer your question, that's a bit of a fuzzy grey area, it seems. I was never told to choose a citizenship when I turned 18. I think a variety of factors contribute to this..in my case, my mother never took on German citizenship, so my claim to the US passport was still firmly established; I attended an American school abroad; and I travelled regularly to the US. A friend of mine was told to give up his US passport at 18, but his case was that he was born in the US, but his parents then moved and the US-citizen parent became a dual national. He also never travelled to the US at all between birth and age 18.
They might also have changed the rules recently, which is more likely in your son's case. However I never have had any issues with it, nor have my two younger siblings, so before handing over his passport it might actually be worth consulting a lawyer at some stage. There seem to be a lot of loopholes and undefined areas.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 question - US citizen born abroad

The petitoner is always the main sponsor for a visa, so I am a bit confused what you/ the consulate means by what you write. I assume they mean they are not sure whether you are elligible as a financial sponsor by yourself, as you do not have a US based income. If so, you will need to sponsor your fiancee on assets (property, savings, shares etc), or have a US based co-sponsor such as your grandmother.

You might also want to look at DCF as an option btw.

I see, I see...that makes sense, I am not entirely sure what they meant either but did assume it was due to lack of job in the US. Who is able to co-sponsor his petition then? Does it have to be one of my parents, or can it be my grandmother or an uncle? If I were to sponsor him based on savings and assets, is there some sort of minimum they want to see as proof of ability to support?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 question - US citizen born abroad
Hi all..hope someone can help me out with this.
I was born in Germany to a German father and an American mother, so have had dual citizenship since birth. I have never officially lived in the US except for short stays with my grandmother in NY state...now I live in the UK, and am engaged to a Brit. We would like to move to the US, first to study for Masters degrees and then to work. We've spoken to someone at the embassy in London and they recommended that due to our prospective timeline for study the K1 visa is the best option for us. What they said they were not able to give us advice on (which is exceptionally frustrating) was whether or not I may not be eligible as a sponsor because I do not have a permanent residence in the States. I am registered to vote at my mother's last address in the US, as per voter registration laws, but I don't really understand how the two relate.
Anyone been through a similar situation? I'd really appreciate any advice you've got!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325a Form
Did I say I was going to send it off without the form?
NO I DIDN'T!

Why didn't you state that in the first place if you read my thread regarding the expiration date?
Unlike some people I don't LIVE on this board.

Take into consideration many people are at different stages in their application process, and they last thing they need is straight up, blatant, rudeness.
Very easy for 'old-timers' to tell someone go look at x, y and z like that's helping. My initial question was VALID if you saw an expiration on a form would you just assume it was OK to complete spend $300+ and send off? No you wouldn't. You'd question it. Now unless the guide stated NEXT to the form that it had expired but was still OK to send off until updated then fine. It didn't.

I don't deal with matters regarding immigration, especially when it comes to US government rules & regulations.

Help thoroughly with someone's questions or don't bother help at all.

And that's as FINAL and CIVIL as I'll leave it.

Thank you

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325a Form

Please see the guides they are extremely helpful. http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide

G-325 form is required.

Was my post even read?

1. I have read the guides, which is why I was posing the questions.
2. If you click the link via the guide the expiration of the pdf is for June 30th 2011.

I stated this in my original post. I know it's easy to simply refer someone to 'read the guides' but a read in someone's post will also be helpful.

I think this is a VERY valid questions considering we are in August and the form on the official USCIS government website is expired by 2 months.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325a Form
Hi all,

I started to fill out the K1 visa late last year but put it on hold as wasn't too sure when my fiance would be coming home from Afghanistan.
Now we're back on the case, I came here and went to the USCIS website as well.

I noticed on the G-325a form I had (and also on the USCIS site) the expiration date for the form was June 30th 2011.
I also noticed on the fiance visa page on USCIS that the I-129f was the only form required.

Can someone please tell me if the G-325a form is still a requirement please?
