K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Still waiting for NOA2 from Vermont (Vietnam) K-1	we applied August 8th. NOA1 Aug 10th. It's been over 6 months now. and we have received nothing. No update on the USCIS website, no update from the Telecenter. I've filed a letter with the immigration specialist of my congressman, and have filed a request for status update on February 10th. I was told I would get a clearer update in 15 days. not an approval, not an explanation, just more excuses. on the six month mark, i suggest calling the USCIS center and put in the request for a status update which will take up to 15 days. AVR is the automated system, with other types of visas you can enter in your case number from USCIS (NOA) and get updated, but not for the K-1. Yup for sure get the 134 and supporting documents gathered.... its ROCK 'N' ROLL time!! i really appreciate your advice here! Whats your opinion on the next step? should i send my financial info now or wait till he gets his package from the embassy? Next will be to get your embassy case number! For the NVC: Give them 7 - 10 days before calling. K1's are not tracked through the AVR, EVER. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator. To get there: 1-603-334-0700 Press 1 for English Press 5 for an operator OK. I can do that. Thank you. Now is the time I should be gathering up my financial info to send off the the hubs, correct? What you directly or indirectly did was ask for a Service Request. Says so in the letter. Hence: Pull and Review your File/Petition. There are No currant RFE's to deal with and if so they would have occured months ago, so you are most likely past a RFE. Your Politicle views (Activist) have nothing to do with it. A Free Country. Be Patient and let us know when that NOA2 comes. Could be this week. (USCIS is also aware your Congressman Office made a call) When they say 60 days which is a Standard Form Letter generaly, exspect 2 weeks with No Problems. I know......... sucks. Indeed it does. Yes, patience as more months get tacked onto the already exceeded length of time. But that isn't the worst part. It's the petitions that are getting approved that were filed in September, October that concerns me. waiting would be fine if I knew what I was waiting for, ya know. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	What has happened to our petition?	we got our NOA1 on AUgust 10, 2011. it has been 6.5 months and we have recieved no NOA2, no RFE, no "touches", no answers. I have contacted my congressman (pointless) and I submitted a request for a status update on 2-10-12. i was told to wait 15 days for a response. This is the response i got: "The status of this service request is: We have requested your file. Please allow a minimum of 60 days for a response. If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283." I contacted the USCIS for further information and we can all guess what i was told: nothing. What is going on? anyone in our same situation or has been? Is our petition lost? denied? Trashed? Am i flagged for all the activism work I've done in the past? I mean, really, I'm starting to question everything at this point. I was told i could visit my local immigration office, does anyone know if this is even worth it? Possible Interview Questions for K1 Visas What is your fiancé’s name and age? What is his/her birth date? Where does your fiance live? Does your fiance live in an apartment or own? When and how did you meet in person? How much time have you spent together? When did he/she visit you here? Did he/she visit more than once? How do you communicate with each other? How often? Why do you want to marry him/her? What do you love about your fiance? How and when did your fiance propose? Do you know your fiance's friends? When and where are you going to have the wedding? wedding plans? guests? honeymoon? Did you have an engagement party? How do your families feel about your plans to get married? What is your fiance's occupation? How long has your fiance been there and salary? What are your fiancé’s hobbies? What kind of food does your fiance like? Does your fiance have siblings? Where did he/she grow up? Are his/her parents still living? Where do they live? What ages are his/her parents? Questions about beneficiary What is your birth date? Where were you born? What is your nationality? Have you ever been to the US? How long and where did you stay? Do you have any relatives in the US? What is your profession? Why are you getting married in the US? I'm sure things will start moving quickly at this point (hopefully) but we are still waiting. We received our NOA1 on Aug 10th and I've filed with the USCIS for a status inquiry and I've also contacted my congress person. As of today, no word. As far as what I mean by 'truly make', i know that i need the past 3 years tax returns, yet two of those years i believe I made less than 125% above the poverty line. As some of you may know, i make most of my money in tips. My tax returns do state that I make above the minimum to qualify, (125% above the poverty line) but my question is, will i face any issues with this? China	Unusual way to get interview notification!	My lovely Shiyang called me this morning to tell me that she received a call from the US Consulate in Guangzhou, telling her the interview was in next Tuesday! I have never heard of such a thing! We are very happy, but, we are a month a head of schedule!! There is no way I can breakaway so quickly to be at her interview.
