Russia, Ukraine and BelarusLegalization and authorization fees?
Posted Image Hi everyone. We are getting close now! I have a question and I am hoping that someone can shed light on. I am sorry if this is vague, but it is the information as I have it. We recently received our letter from Consular on requirements for Lily's interview (my fiancée) is very nervous about her interview and sought counsel (this is where it gets vague) at some agency or service specializing in forms and document processing. She was told that for $730 USD they would do "legalization" and "authorization" of the documents from the different ministries. I believe there are three that are involved. As best I can understand they pertain to medical, police records and school (she has two children (10 and 17). Has anyone used these types of services? Or are they just preying on her fears of failing somehow the interview? She also was told that without this Legalization she could have difficulty when she begins her US status change after our marriage. My funds are limited, but will find a way to pay the unexpected $730 if it is legitimate and has merit. I just have this feeling that this is like a car salesman telling you that you must have this car! Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. I tried to get her to pose the question in Russian on the site as she could better explain than I but she just said we will do without the legalization... I just need to get some consensus on whether it is really needed. Thanks in advance...

(Visa fees)$985.00 X 2, $385.00 x 1, $85.00 x 3, must be form fees as well my head is spinning.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsfirst thing that you gona do with your wife when she here in the us
This is a very good topic and I loved the bubble bath idea. My Fiance will arrive at about the stroke of midnite though so we will roll into our place at 1-2 am. I think we will just spoon and sleep. She has never seen the ocean and san diego has a large one so that will be the third thing we do. I also think that signing up for English classes is a great idea. Its funny we have been waiting what seems like forever and she is in Kiev now getting her medical taken care of. She will be here (if all goes well) in less than a month. I too would like to thank Visa Journey and all those who have helped us with their wisdom. The unknown is a scary place, and I was helped a great deal more than by just the advice. Knowing their are many others going through the same things as Lily and myself really helped. Thanks everyone.

Thanks everyone I got the advice and the joke were all good. Well not really but what are you going to do. Based on what I had read they would get around to the packet until after the 11/23, but never thought about the postmark date. Anyway thanks for the input...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSent Incorrect Fee Amount??
Hi everyone, I am hoping someone has had this happen to them and can shed some light for me.
I was preparing to file my petition complete with a $455.00 processing fee when I saw a bulletin for fee restructuring. The new fee cost for the I-129F is $340.00. The date the change goes into effect is Nov. 23, 2010, my head started spinning! Do I send the 455.00 or the 340.00? Well I did something very analytical and flipped a coin. So, $340.00 made its way to the Lock box on 10/26/10. Has anyone had a similar circumstance? I would think that they would look at the packet with in that 4 week window but I don't really have a clue. I would truly appreciate some feedback if anyone has any...Is it likely that the packet will be returned?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 dependent children
My Fiancee just received her K1 visa yesterday. We had planned on her coming to US and we would spend some time by ourselves then marry, before bringing out her boys (10 and 17) be a family However she was told by the consulate that she must bring the ten year old with her because he is on her visa. I am trying to understand what difference it could make if she brings him on her visa now or 2 months from now? Anyone who has done anything similar?
