VietnamTravel Visa to Europe ????
Hello Fellow VJers,

I would love to take my beautiful Vietnamese wife to France and the UK in several months for vacation. My wife has been in the USA for about 1 ½ years. The UK travel application process is very complicated. The UK application requires that we submit biometrics information by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services but I do not know where I can have this done in Los Angeles area.

Does anyone have experience with this??

Please Help

VietnamPossible Red Flag
Hang in there Buddy... Your doing the right thing.. The Visa Journey is overwhelming at times. just keep asking questions on this web site... this resource is so valuable. My wife used a website similar to this one when she was in VN that was kind of like a support group, I can get you the info if you contact me.

My wife has been with me in California for a little over 2 years... We have an amazing life. We have navigated through so many obsitcals in VN and USA... But we up for the challange and it has made us stronger.

Here is our story on our day that we went in to turn in our evidence:
We got there at 12:30pm on September 8th 2009.
We both walk up and being turn down by the guard and said that only one of us can come in.
My wife walk in with all of the evidence in two bags. One bag was our BEFORE WEDDING and AFTER WEDDING evidence.
My wife turn in all the documents around 1:10pm and told to wait for the result.
My wife sit at the bench until 5:05 pm and they call my wife's name. They then told my wife that they're running out of time so they gave my wife a blue slip and said to go home and wait. Think about it everyone, my wife wait for almost 5 hours and just to receive such news. Not to mention I was sitting outside at the corner on the other side of the street waiting patiently. I didn't go to the bathroom or taking my eyes off the doors. I see 1 door close, then 2 doors close then all three close. I was worry about my wife safety more than getting the pink slip. I talked to one of the american that just got out of the consulate about my wife. I explain to him how my wife looks and he said she's still in there. That ease my worry a little and I keep on waiting. At 5:10Pm, my wife walk out and cross the busy street and told me that we have a second blue slip. Part of me was glad because my wife is okay and part of me was angry about them keeping someone in the consulate for 5 hours. After all, we're glad that it's not white slip and we were so hungry to think about anything else. We jump into the car and find the next restaurant to eat. We ate at "Quan An Ngon" just down the road on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia.
That's our story on our second time at the consulate. We are waiting for them to give us an answer and hope it turns out well.
SORRY FOR MAKING IT TOO LONG.

Wow!!! It has been a long road for you.... my prayers are with you! Hang in there!

Pink! Pink! Pink! We're totally happy!

Went in at 7:00am into a line on the right of the building.
Waited for half hour to get number.
Gave the papers to someone to review.
Waited another two hours for the interview.
Interview was a middle-aged man.

Questions asked:
When did you meet your husband? How?
Tell me about the time you have been together from start to now.
When was the first time you met his parents?
Can he speak Vietnamese?
Why did you get married in Singapore?
Why does he have a negative number for the last two years on his tax returns?
How long has he stayed in Vietnam?
Where did your husband study in America and what degree?
What do you do for work?
What do you plan to do in America?

We need to go back on Monday to pick up the Visa, but everything went smooth. My wife got out 10:50am. I was was stressing out across the street watching here though the gate. Thanks for all the support. I feel drained, but happy.

I have my devorce paperwork that i turned in with my fist batch of requested paperwork. Is that enough? we got blue. But it was the best thing we could get. Phi didnt pass her medical. The blue sheet said they only want to see medical passed. so... i would say its 100% pink when she passes medical. now all the hard part is over. no more stress..... dancin5hr.gif just need to see the results of TB test. then we go from there. but she interviewed very well. they asked her some questions in english. I was worried about not having paper stating relitavies in the USA because that is how i met phi through a friend of my mother. Here are some questions they asked her.

who interoduce us to each other?

When you 1st know your fiancee?

What launguage do you talk with your fiancee?

Where did your fiancee learn Vietnamese?

When was the 1st time your meet your fiancee? (Face to face)

When did your fiancee proposed to you?

Did you and your fiancee have dinh hon (engagment ceremoney)

how many people come to dinh hon?

when did you have dinh hon?

How many days was your fiancee in vietnam the 1st time?

has your fiancee gone to vietnam after the 1st time?

What are your fiancee's hobbies

Where does he go fishing?

Who does he go with?

What is his name?

Where he meet this person?(friend from high school)

(they looked at pictures she brought, they saw some of my brother in iraq and many many other photos)

they asked if she can interview english

Does your fiancee have any brothers or sisters?

they asked where fiancee brother live

Does your fiancee parents work?

talk about your fiancee home town

that was about it. Thank you VJ members for helping us get thtis far. and sorry it took so long. I was just so happy to leave saigon... god i hate it.... i am in Vinh Long..... And I missed it tongue.gif

This afternoon, I'm just sitting here working on the computer and the power goes out. I'm pissed because I have work to do.... I hear some thunder and then a really loud rumble... I open the front door and about 200 feet in front of me is a tornado picking up my neighbors boat and ripping away his roof... I turn to tell my son to run to the bathroom and the tornado threw the boat 2 lots away on the other side of his house... a few big trees torn from the ground and a car tossed onto the roof of another house and it was all over but the few dozen homes missing portions of their roof... No damage to mine, just debris from the other homes all over my property and big black stains on the walls where asphalt shingles hit the house. This visa Journey is stressful enough.. I dont need a tornado or the oncoming TS's making it worse.... OK I feel better now! What a crappy day! Man I could use a NOA2 about now.. good.gif

Scott,

Thank God you are OK!!!! I was wakened by an earthquake here in Los Angeles today...... No damage though!

Asia: East and PacificMy fiancee had her interview at HCMC on August 19th
QUOTE (NgocThuan @ Aug 21 2009, 09:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I guess I should describe my experience first. We arrived at the embassy around 7:30am; her appointment is scheduled for 9:30am. I help her carry all the evidence stuffed in 2 laptop bags to the end of the line. There were about 50 or 60 people already lined up waiting to go inside. After the guard scanned her, he asked me to wait across the street with about a couple of dozen other people. Some were the locals trying to sell me a book or shine my shoes. Some even offered to buy my shoes. I only bought one book the whole time and kept my shoes. Lucky my cousin and Thuan’s sister in law waited with me because I don’t think they would have left me alone. It was a long wait. Although I had faith in her, I was still nervous because we’re talking about HCMC after all. During my wait outside, I noticed many people coming out of the embassy; some had a straight look on their face, so it was hard to tell if they got pink or blue. Others had a sad or angry expression which let me know they didn’t pass their interview. Maybe 1 or 2 with smiles telling me they got pink. Thuan finally comes out at 11:04am with a straight look on her face; I assumed the worst but was still hoping she somehow passed. After she crosses the street, she tells me xong roi. I said what do you mean xong roi? Still with a straight face, she says I’m all finish honey. Finish what? I got pink. Wow! She had me going there for a moment; I was so happy, I picked her up and kissed her. By that time, everyone else knew she got pink. Later, I will give her experience from inside the embassy when I can get her to sit down long enough to tell me all the details, as well as the interview questions thrown at her from an angry CO.

Congrats!!!! Way To Go!!!!

ok, so i am back in USA va nho phi rat nhieu (and miss Phi very much) now that the interview part is over and now we are just waiting for her TB test results, and maybe waiting treatment for TB. I was wondering about calling cards. We dont need evidence anymore. my cellphone bill this month was soooooo high. it almost made me sick(400+USD). we talked alot and we sent MANY MANY SMS to eachother.

Anyone know of a good calling card, and maybe a program other than Skype for SMS? I sometimes use yahoo to send her SMS. that is free for me and costs her less. but she needs to be signed on yahoo on her yahoo account for her phone for her to get my SMS.

My Phone contract is up, so I can also look for a new company if it has better SMS rates. I am with Verizon Wireless.

SMS send =$.25 USD
SMS Rcv'd =$.20 USD
International Long Distance - Mobil = $0.56 / min

TXT Messaging-Int'l Sent messages -- 301 301 75.25
TXT Messaging-Int'l Rcv'd messages -- 235 235 47.00

International Long Distance - Mobil 165.76

Try Speedypin.com, they have many options for calling cards.

Linh passed the written exam this morning and now has her Esthetician License. kicking.gif kicking.gif

She really worked hard to learn the scientific and technical terms needed. (I also know far more that I ever thought that I would about skin science) Her salon will begin offering the spa services next month and now she can be one of those who will be working with those clients.

I am really impressed with how she has approached the challenges of getting what she wants since arriving in April 07. Driver's License, English classes, Manicurist License, and now the Esthetician License.

Now I have to plan something good to cook for dinner. Or maybe make reservations at a good restaurant. whistling.gif

Asia: East and Pacifictraveling With X Rays ????
Hello fellow VJers,

I have a question about traveling with X Rays from Vietnam to Los Angeles. (I think I just read a post on this.)

X Rays must be in possession, not packed in luggage?

Jessie says the X Rays are very large. I suggested rolling them up and packing them in a tube to bring them on the plane.

If Jessie gets a pink slip on December 3, she will defiantly be traveling to Los Angeles before the Holidays.

Any feedback and PRAYERS would be greatly appreciated.

We are A K-1 visa.
