Sorry for all the confusion. This isn't for Northern Ireland.

I appreciate all the links and suggestions.

Did you try to find an immigration site for Ireland? This being a site for people to immigrate to the US I am not sure if you will find the help you need here.

Thank you for responding. Yes I have inquiries in to the Embassy and other websites that deal with this as well too today. I was just being broad in gathering information and had some hopes that some of the people from Ireland that came to the states had also looked up the reserve at some point and might have more answers. We still havent ruled out who is moving where but narrowing down the information will make the decision easier on us both. Thanks again for your reply.

I am the US citizen - living in the US, with an Irish citizen husband - living in Ireland, and we married last year. We are both still trying to decide who actually is moving, there are so many responsibilities on each side to consider but we just want to be with one another. In planning for that we have checked out both US and Irish sites but I have yet to find an answer to this question that will help us in knowing what the next steps should be. My daughter is 22 years old - over the minor child dependant age- yet she is still a dependant of mine and is slow learning/developmentally delayed and can not live on her own at this time. Shouldnt there be special provisions for this if I were to move to Ireland? I know if she were a minor that I would be able to apply for the passoprt for her and take her with me when we register but since she is older - the only information I can find is to go over- stay for 5 years with my husband and then once I can apply for dual citizenship after 5 years I have to wait 2 more years before I can apply to bring her over. Thats 7 years that she would have to be on her own and impossible under those circumstances. Do any of you know if there is a provision for an adult disabled child moving to Ireland with her parent and what forms I might need to fill out in addition to everything else? I know this is mainly a site for immigration to the US but I was hoping somoene would have an answer for me. If we can not sort this out, we may have to move him here instead.

Thanks in advance for any replies that might help send me in the right direction for answers.
