Middle East and North AfricaVisa in Hand .... Moroccan Government won't let him go

I have started this topic for help and support, but someone moved it and I have heard nothing. This is my question for all or anyone with information. My husband has been approved and has his visa in hand. We booked our flights and were happy to begin our lives in the USA. Once at the Airport in Casablanca Morocco, I was stamped out of the country but the Customs officials would not let my husband pass. My husband was a prison guard and recently resigned but he apparently needs documentation that he no longer works for the government or  documentation that he has permission to travel outside of the country. It is going on 3 weeks and so far no paper. The prison gave him a hard time and did not send his resignation to Rabat. So he is still technically employed when he thought he resigned. He is now on Holiday leave trying to get permission to travel. Once in Rabat, he has learned that the man responsible for signing papers to exit is no longer in his position, so no one is  able to sign his permission. It sounds like no one in Morocco has authority? My husband has not worked with the government for 3 months. He wants them to accept his resignation so he may come before the visa expires, but I think it will take so much time. It sounds like there is a stack of people who want permission to go out??? But no one to allow it. Feeling helpless and want to be reunited with my husband. Any advice in what direction we should turn will be appreciated.

Paloma&Ziko ..... I wish you good luck in your process, My husband and I were married last November and are awaiting the immigration process. We were married in Kenitra, Morocco and it took a month and a half. Be prepared to do a lot of travel. Back and forth from office to office. I would advise you to get your birth certificate translation notarized at the Consulate while you are there to get your certificate to marry. My original Birth Certificate was issued at my birth in the USA, and the Justice Department needed confirmation that it was valid. ( since Moroccan Birth Certificate's are good only for 3 months.) Good luck

Question for Happytobe, I noticed our case's are similar. Have you been assigned an interview date yet?
