PhilippinesDo I need to change my maiden surname to my husband's surname in my passport?
Hi! i would like to know if it is a must to change my passport since my current passport was obtained last 2011 and I was not yet married at that time. The name that appears on the passport is my maiden name or single name. We are expecting for the approval of the spousal petition by the end of this month and I think there is no enough time to change my passport since it will take 35 days to process it and before I could renew it, they ask me to undergo a CFO seminar first. I'm worried that this might affect the process. So is it really a must to change my passport and use my husband's family name or my married name.

I hope someone can answer my question. thanks in advance.

hi there!

I hope someone can help me? I have a passport obtained last 2011 and on that time I was not yet married so I am using my maiden surname. Now my question is, do I need to change my surname in the passport and using my husband's surname?

Also, I was so stupid that I haven't change my IDs and use my husband's surname. Some agencies don't honor postal ids. i wanted to get an SSS ID but it takes months to get it. I am wondering if it is really necessary to use my husband's surname.

Kinda mixed up. huhuh. We are expecting the approval of the petition this month.

wow! really? IN my case, i was able to retrieve my call logs last 2011, the site before was different and showed all my call logs, so i was able to print it,i started to use magicjack by the year 2010.
During my interview, both the filipino and american consuls did not ask for our telephone bills, but anyway just be prepared for it just in case they will ask it. My fiance provided me his telephone bills from 2009 - 2012, your husband can do that too..=)

oh yes... thank you... that's a good idea... we are on a spousal petition... it might not be necessary but it's always better to prepare than regret later... we are actually still waiting for NOA2... hehe. not much excited. LOL. thanks sis.

PhilippinesFiance visa interview requirements

hi lemajeca.. Just log-in to their site.. https://web08.magicj...m/my/login.html then click on "ACCOUNT" then click on "CONTACT and CALL LOGS" then click "SHOW CALL LOGS" .. I have checked today that the call logs they are giving is from dec2012- present. Try to contact their customer service if they can still retrieve all your call logs. I didn't export it to the excel, i printed it from the site so that it will show that it is my account and the call logs came from the MJ site.. =)

thanks for the reply. i actually tried chatting with their customer service but the agent said that before i can have access to all my call logs, i need to ask an attorney or a police or a court representative to ask these call logs from them. this is really crazy. :'( and on the website they're not really showing the complete logs. i noticed it. eve for a month call. my husband and i talks everyday and many times a day. did you try to request it from them or every month you would get print screens... i wish i did it before.

Six. Six is the number, and the number shall be six. Not seven, or five, lest you add one more, making the number six. Eight, is right out.

Do I need a copy in the USA?

PhilippinesPassport w/ Maiden Name for Spousal Petition

You can use your married name in your CR1 petition.

All you have to do is renew your passport to your married name. All your ID cards should also be in your married name, as well as your NBI clearance.

You already filed i-130 though. Did you use your maiden name in the forms?

if i renew my passport, the time wont be enough since it will take 1 month before i could get it. my IDs are still in my maiden name.

my hubby and i i used my surname cuz i dont have any ID's using my husband surname. and my passport also still my surname so no worries about it. as long as you a marriage certificate you will be okay

oh okay... yes... yes.. thank you... now i dont have to worry... my husband was telling me i should not worry but i just really want to make sure... thanks a lot.

PhilippinesPassport w/ Maiden Name for Spousal Petition
Hi! Would like to know if there's someone in here who used her/his passport using her maiden name in his/her visa application? Spousal petition to be specific. I've read a post in the visa blog of the US embassy in Manila that the name of the visa that should appear should be the same as shown in the passport. So does this mean that in filling up the forms, I should use my single family name if asked for my last name? not my husband's name?

Hope someone could enlighten me.

Thanks in advance.
lemajecaMalePhilippines2013-02-18 21:28:00
PhilippinesNBI and Police Clearance

NO WORRIES. when you apply for nbi clearance all names will appear

for example
name: angelina jolie jones
husband name: john smith

(cant think of any other names)

your name in the clearance will appear as: JONES de SMITH, ANGELINA y JOLIE

all your names will appear. I had mine last week.

yes thank you. i've read a different post related to NBI clearance and their post confused me but not anymore. thank you for your reply.

Hi everyone!

I'm quiet confused here. I would like to know how many copies should I get for my NBI clearance? If I need 2 of them, should one of these copies have my maiden name only and the other with my married name?

PhilippinesScanned copy of IRS during interview

So you're already married in a civil ceremony and you're planning a church wedding in the US now right? Make sure you have your NBI and your CEMAR, along with your affidavit of support forms (I-864, etc.) We just had our interview a week ago. I spent so much time preparing all this stuff like all these pictures of us together and proof of joint bank account and vehicle ownership, tons of proof of my intent to re-establish US domicile, etc, etc, and they didn't have ANY interest in seeing any of it. They wanted our NSO Marriage certificate, her NSO birth certificate, NSO CEMAR, I-864, and the tax transcripts. I tried to give them photocopies of the MC, BC, and CEMAR but they very sternly insisted on keeping the originals. Copies of the tax info is fine (that's all you would really have to give them anyway). When you arrive there will be several very aggressive vendors trying to tell you what line to get into, don't believe them. My wife and I spent about 15 min in the wrong line (along with many others who also believed the vendors). Go straight to a guard and ask them where you're supposed to be. Good luck. You will spend many hours waiting for your number to be called again and again, but the actual interviews are pretty darn quick. :)

- Bron (Makati/Utah)

Hi. about the copy of tax info, is it different from the ones that my hubby will send along with I-864? how many copies should he get from IRS?

PhilippinesHow to ensure you have a clear lungs?

If the OP has TB (which he unfortunately does not know if he does or not) then the proposed would be a good solution to keeping his lungs clear. Yes?

yes, absolutely!
lemajecaMalePhilippines2013-03-18 19:04:00
PhilippinesHow to ensure you have a clear lungs?

Agree with what you like but what you believe and what is true are two different things. I passed everything with flying colours as expected because I don't have TB. I had asthma when I was a kid, no damage to my lungs so nothing to be concerned about. If you want to eat healthy, go ahead, but don't fool yourself into believing that it will change the outcome because it won't. If you don't have TB, you will be fine. It's that easy.

If you want to be healthy, go to a doctor, get tested, get the BCG vaccine. THAT will stop you contracting it, not food.

You are extremely wrong. The link you posted is for old wives tales. It is not the truth. Herbal remedies are for sure good for some things, not all. Certainly not for prevention or cure of TB.

same to you...
lemajecaMalePhilippines2013-03-15 10:05:00
PhilippinesHow to ensure you have a clear lungs?

Honestly, the only way to have clear lung is to have clear lungs. Eating healthy has no effect on the results, drinking milk/water whatever has no effect. It is your LUNG not your STOMACH they are assessing. your LUNGS are an assortment of air sacs (in layman's terms). If there is an infection there, the infection will show. If you're a long time smoker you may have shadows due to the death/clogging of the air sacs. Having a cigarette for the first time ever before the exam won't affect it either.

If you don't have TB and don't have any other form of lung damage (from smoking or other illness for example) the test will be clear. The only way to HAVE clear lungs, is if they are clear. Nothing you do will clear them. Anyone that tells you to eat healthy or drink this or that is lying. They have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.

If you don't have TB (which is what the xray is for) then you'll have no problems. It's THAT simple.

what you eat can make you resistant to any disease, like TB... caused by bacteria... i think i wont agree with what you said that, "eating healthy has no effect on the results..."

I just posted a link that it cures tb but most people in the modern world would not believe in herbal medicines anymore because they just wanted to be ok right away.

What i was actually telling the OP was my preparation then before my medical exam because raw garlic prevents and cures tb.

i agree with you...

PhilippinesHow to ensure you have a clear lungs?
are they only looking for TB? there might be other diseases they would want to check... (i'm not sure, i think i need to read more about it) just really want to know how to have clear lungs... it's better to be careful... thanks for all your replies...

what will put me at ease is of course prayer... everything has a reason... xoxo
lemajecaMalePhilippines2013-03-15 09:40:00
PhilippinesHow to ensure you have a clear lungs?

just be healthy! what i did months before my medical is i stopped eating sweets and very minimal carbs also my fiance told me about raw garlic that if you have tb latent or active it will help so i did that for months and had vitamin c too. so i would highly suggest that you stay healthy, also im not sure with xrays from local hospitals because the xray at St. Luke's is actually a Radiograph of your lungs which is far different from the ones at the local hospitals. there were experiences shared here on vj about people who took an xray at hospitals before they had their medical which they had a negative result and at St. Luke's they were positive or they saw some scar (something like that) that eventually lead to sputum test but dont worry yourself too much just be healthy and try to stay away from diseases esp people with possible active tb. good luck and God bless your journey also dont forget to offer your worries to God , He knows exactly what is going to happen and trust Him to take care of you :)

thank you, i'll take note of your advice... i'll do what I can do and may God do the rest... thanks a lot...

Hello! We just got our case number and I'll start organizing any evidences we have. We have money transfer receipts and I am wondering how to present them. Should I paste them in coupon bonds? or staple in a folder or place it in an envelope? question might be simple but I just really want to know how exactly you did it. PhilippinesHow long will it take for NVC to schedule an interview from the time our case has been completed?

From my understanding it depends on how many people in your country are before you and how long the wait is. I just asked someone at the NVC that same question. They couldn't give me an exact time. :(

so it means it is the embassy who schedules the interview... hmmm.
