Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Travel for a visit to Ukraine while being permanent resident
nyhazmat, Thank you very much for your reply! I guessed that this question could be asked before, but really, couldn't find it in a BUNCH of topics.. your example really helps, now i will sleep peacefully smile.gif I didn't worry that much about American custom, as about Ukrainian custom while leaving Ukraine.. they sometimes can do things you wouldn't expect in your nightmare.. So, thank you for sharing!
Brad and Vika, i really couldn't imagine why would i have to change passport, but sometimes bureaucracy steps in the way of best prepared things... let's hope we'll be lucky smile.gif
Gary and Alla, i completely agree with your point of view, but mu husband really wanted me to have his name smile.gif

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Travel for a visit to Ukraine while being permanent resident
Hello, guys!
Well, I am a bit confused, here's why:
I came to US and already have my Green Card, and I am planning on going to Ukraine (I am Ukrainian) this May. I understand that to come back to US I will only need my GC. BUT to come to Ukraine/leave Ukraine I will probably need to use international passport? I have one, it's not expired.. just I changed my surname, and it still has my maiden name in there... so i don't know if I will/won't have any problems on Ukrainian custom with my international passport..
Maybe some of you have been in the situation like myself? How was it? which documents did you need to go back to Ukraine? have you changed your int. passport due to changing your surname to travel to Ukraine??
Any help is highly appreciated!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHow much does it help if I attend the interview?
Well, my fiance's presence at interview helped me a lot: 1.I was nervous like hell and he helped me to calm down. 2. consul didn't ask me ANY question, just exchanged few words with Glen ("Oh, you're from MA? I am originally from Connecticut, miss home blah blah"). BUT when i was interviewed, few girls were interviewed little earlier and right after me.. alone. and they all got visas
But you really can take Vika back with you (assuming that she will get a visa) if you plan an interview on the beginning of your trip. Glen came to Ukraine for 9 days, and our interview took place on the second day of his presence, and i got my visa few days before he left, so i could just leave with him. It IS possible. Even Consul told us "If you guys plan to go to America together, you can pay some more to FedEx and they'll deliver your visa faster" smile.gif
BTW, i flew to USA by myself, it's not that scary, especially if you have enough time between connection flights. I flew through Zürich, i liked it very much-quiet, safe, nice people around.. was afraid to fly through Paris...
Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsPacket 3, Packet 4
Yep. Cecile and Bryan gave a good answer, you better look at your local embassy site. The fact is that in Ukraine (where i am from) they don't send packet 4 any more, only packet 3. AND.. my packet 3 was sent to me when i already had my visa for couple weeks. I downloaded all the forms and info from embassy site, filled them and right when my fiance (now husband) got approval that our papers are sent to Ukraine, called to make interview appointment.
