I have a question, what do you mean by "stamped certified"? I know you mention immigration office, however, would a translation service certification stamp be sufficient? if not, does my fiancee need to head to the Soi Suan Plu, Bangkok immigration office to get an additional stamp?

Hi! I am just doing some preliminary reading/research on the expedited naturalization topic and I was hoping someone here could answer a question for me.

1. My husband is currently deployed for more than a year out of country, which is one of the requirements according to 319(b). But I am not allowed (for obvious reasons) to join him there. I thought I saw, online somewhere that requirement can be waived, if your spouse IS deployed but now I can't find it. Anyone know if that's true or not?

Hmm... not sure about the waiver part; however, one of the requirements of section 319(b) is:
You must show evidence that you will join your spouse overseas within 45 days of your naturalization.

With that requirement, I would imagine that you would have to have authorization to join him.

I had the same problem with that block for N-400 319(b). I did not fill out the date I left to go overseas; I figured that technically I am still in transit and have not completed the "trip". Thus, I will just update the immigration officer during the N-400 interview of my departure and return date (which will be when I enter back into the US for the interview) as they do review the N-400 application again.


Also, my cover letter clearly stated that I am residing overseas and I used an APO address.

My application did get accepted by leaving it blank and I am waiting in line for the interview at the moment.

In my opinion, you can leave it blank OR just put the date you left the USA with the return date blank for now... just update it when you enter the US for the interview :D

"In regards to your spouse’s N-400 interview, it was discovered that she has an additional file currently at the Vermont Service Center. That additional file has been requested for expedited processing and is needed to complete the N400 interview. The Washington District Field Office will notify you about a scheduling date once those files have been received. We will ensure that she is given ample time to make any necessary travel arrangements.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Hope you all had a pleasant holiday season and a nice break from dealing with USCIS. Now we are back to the grind of waiting and waiting for news. I have to admit, I am totally fed up after being so excited on Dec 3rd to learn that my file had transferred to the local office, I have not heard anything more.

So much for 319b, I started the process in June, my attorney finally filed on Sept 3rd and here we are Jan 3rd and still no interview letter. I thought the idea was 319b sped up the process, but many of you are further forward or even complete and I am still waiting. Even many of the October and November filers are ahead of me :wacko:

I will be so glad to get this thing finished. This waiting is killing me, mainly due to the fact I have three young kids who have been waiting for a vacation/visit to the US since the summer. Please, please keep your fingers crossed the letter comes in time for us to travel over Chinese New Year (Feb 2)?

For those of you with interviews in the coming days, good luck and best wishes. I know you will be so glad to put this all behind you and start a USCIS-free 2011.

Guess I am in the same category as you, I filed using 319b as a DOD employee. I called Tier 2 and the officer stated that Fairfax, VA is very busy and that my case is currently awaiting a interview date, I will have something within the next 30-60 days. =(

Hello all,

I am trying to apply under section 319b since I have ties to the department of defense. I have a question regarding form N-400, part 7, section C (Time Outside the USA) - my wife is residing with me overseas, how would I annotate that if there is only a "Date you left the United States" and "Date you returned to the United States" in mm/dd/yyy format? Should I just put in today's date for "Date you returned to the United States" or present etc?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRemoving Conditions from overseas?
Hello,

My wife and I are currently residing in Qatar for a year (im on official government orders) and was wondering if it is possible to remove conditions on the 2 year green card from overseas? I am not quite sure how to attend the interview from overseas, if that is even possible. Would I have to file the form and fly back to the USA for the interview?

the form is I-I30, Petition for Alien Relative. However, the instructions state the following:

If you are a lawful permanent resident of the United States, you may file this form for:
1. Your husband or wife;
2. Your unmarried child under the age of 21;
3. Your unmarried son or daughter age 21 or older



You cannot petition for your brother under lawful permanent resident status; first you have to become a US citizen. After that, it takes about 3 months for the application to be approved and another 8-11 years before a visa number becomes available for him under the F4 category.
