PhilippinesFIANCEE VISA - HOW MUCH INCOME NEEDED??

Make sure you factor in the number of people in your household. If you have children they count as well, even if they reside with you or not.

Good luck!

PhilippinesFIANCEE VISA - HOW MUCH INCOME NEEDED??
I'm planning to petition my fiancee from the Philippines. I currently have a full time job but only pays me a minimum wage which is $9/hr. Will I be qualified to petition my fiancee? Is there like a requirement on how much income you should be making in order to petition your fiancee?

Hello there, do you mean the VACCINATION DOCUMENTATION SHEET? But for a copy of PDS given by the guard when we enter,no. Though in our VDS it has our PDS number. Then the nurse gave me a CD chest x-ray and the official receipt for medical fee. And returned the passport. Instructed to bring the VDS and CD chest x-ray result to USA then the O.R. during interview. That's how i remember but i will just bring them all on my interview this 29th.

PhilippinesDO U HAVE TO TRANSLATE EMAILS AND CHATS???

Sorry...Based on your other post, I thought you were a male USC petitioner whose female Filipina fiancée beneficiary gave birth to a child in the Philippines.

Now I realize that you are a female USC petitioner who gave birth to your child in the U.S. I assume that your child is in the U.S. with you. If so, then your you and your fiancé don't have to do anything in regard to DNA or proving the child is his. Also, you don't need to mention the child on the I-129F, question 18. Your child has nothing to do with your fiancé's visa.

By the way, my wife, Chinook, is from the Visayas. She's an Ilongga from Bacolod City. :)

thank u for the replies i'm from dumaguete..

I agree with that, they didn't ask to see any chat logs or emails when we were there.

hi thank u for ur reply can i ask if what evidence did they ask from u?? thank u

PhilippinesDO U HAVE TO TRANSLATE EMAILS AND CHATS???

If the U.S. Embassy Manila requires a DNA test, you won't have to go to Manila to do it. Here's the information you need to get your son's U.S. citizenship: U.S. Embassy Manila link.

It's OK to mention your son in question 18. Also, don't forget to list your son in question 13.

hi i'm kind of confused i'm the mother a US citizen i gave birth to my son here in california but the nurse told me i can't put the father's name bcoz his not present to sign the paternity papers so me and my son are US citizen does he need to bring our son's birth certificate and what else does he need? to prove that his the father? thank u so much for ur reply

To the left in any of your postings you will see "timeline", click on it, then near the top of the page near your profile picture you will see where your can edit/add an entry for your timeline.

Also for a lot of your questions on the I-129F process read the GUIDES, the link is at the top of every page. The K-1 process is listed on that page.

PhilippinesDO U HAVE TO TRANSLATE EMAILS AND CHATS???

Are you just starting the I-129F petition process? Your timeline is not completed so not sure of where you are at in the process as emails and chats are not needed, nor requested, for the petition process with USCIS. Emails and chats will only be useful when at the embassy for the K-1 & K-2 visa application where you will want to show evidence of an ongoing relationship. As for translating, only official documents are required to be in English... so no you do not need to translate the emails and chats.

:time:

Oh i thot u need it when u send ur F-129 thank u for the info oh and i dont know how to do the timeline i'm a newbie still practicing how to use this site lol

Philippinesadvice about poverty guidelines

I was way below for my last years return and few months before my fiance's interview I worked 40 hours to be a little over the poverty limit for a family of 3 and it was no problem! He passed the interview! :)

Philippinesadvice about poverty guidelines

One sure way to have the embassy accept a co-sponsor is to go the married route IR/CR-1 visa. But if you are going the K-1 visa route no matter, you can improve your odds of having a co-sponsor accepted by using the I-864 (you and your co-sponsor each complete one) along with the requested I-134c.

If you want to do this without a co-sponsor and your income is short of the 125% requirement http://www.uscis.gov...form/i-864p.pdf the you need to have assets to cover the shortage, not sure where someone ( :bonk: ) came up with the $60,000 number without knowing your income shortage - ignore that number.

Here is what is stated on the U.S. government website: ( http://travel.state....fo_3183.html#22 )

What Cash Value of Assets is Needed?

The total net value of assets, less liens and liabilities against them, must equal five times the difference between the sponsor's income and 125% of the poverty level for the household size

hi hank tnx for your reply i really appreciate it.. i'm below 2,863 the poverty guidelines is there any advice u cud give me? i have a stable job i work on the weekdays should i work part time on the weekends?? if i work now my pay wouldn't be counted in the tax return because this month is we start filing for our tax returns can they look at pay stubs even if its not in the tax return??

Philippinesadvice about poverty guidelines

I'll be the one to ask, and I really don't mean any offense, but if you can't afford the poverty guidelines, is it really wise to be bringing someone into the country, someone who for months and maybe years to come, is going to be solely dependent on you? You will still expenses in the thousands of dollars as well for all of the fees for application, medical, another thousand dollars for adjusting status, flying her over to the united states, health care, food, everything. Not to mention a $300 magic sing karaoke machine (sorry joke from another thread)

But to answer your question, I would be surprised if having assets is even enough. I mean, it would be a pretty easy loophole wouldn't it. Just borrow money from parents or a friend, get through the interview and pay it back. While I have no evidence to back it up, I would highly suspect having assets is no guarantee of acceptance. I would think they could still deny you if they really feel you won't be able to support her when she arrives. Income is what they want to see. Maybe assets is enough.

The I-864 co-sponsor is probably a better idea. But even then, does anyone here actually know if it has ever worked in the Philippines? I've only heard that they almost never accept co-sponsors, I have no data on percentages. But I wonder if the I-864 really ups the odds 'that much'.

Also, I would think even if your last years return was below poverty guidelines, and you were currently employed for a while at a rate that above, that would also help your odds a lot too. You can show current paycheck stubs for a period of time, letter from your employer, etc.

THE 125% say i need 23,800 something but in my tax return its only 21,000 so i'm short i have a stable job is just that my tax return for this year doesnt meet the poverty guidelines i'm short for 3,000$

PhilippinesQuestion about "Ñ / ñ" in my family name

Got an answer for my own question. Just read this from the Evisa Application Forms <img src="http://www.visajourn...#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

"Instructions for completing an electronic visa application form:

1. Enter the information requested into the appropriate spaces on the form. Please answer all questions. <b>Your answers must be in English and must use English characters. Letters like ñ, é, ü, ç are not recognized by the system. Please enter names like Muñoz and Sémonin as Munoz and Semonin. </b>"

Anyway, for those who will ask the same question in the future, this thread will be a reference. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

No, USPS Priority Tyvek Envelope gets a tracking number. No need for anything else.

thanks for the reply.. :star:

No.

US postal service 1st class mail with delivery confirmation. I think now you have to use "Priority mail" or whatever they call it. No signature required. This process takes many months, paying a lot of money to get the papers there 2 or 3 days sooner makes no sense at all. Requiring a signature means nothing.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 Form Field Questions

So, about the affidavit of support that i (the US Citizen) fill out...

Question 3 asks for address... I assume they want the address of my fiancee in Thailand... but it only have room for a USA style address... including 2 letters for "state"  which I guess would be "Bangkok" (province).     Is our  State Department clearly that inebt that they don't know that the rest of the world isn't just like the US?   I really don't know how I would squeeze Province names in there via computer... short of printing and hand writing it.

Question 11 asks if you "intend or not intentd" to make specific contributions to the support of person in Question 3.    I have no idea how to answer that.... We're going to be married... this is a fiance visa.  Of course I intend to support her, we will be sharing everthing... but I don't plan on making "specific contributions" of X dollars a month or something.   Seems like a bogus question that should be visa type specific.   But I am afraid to leave it blank, or choose the wrong one in case it makes a difference to the Governement.    The follow up question is to enumerate what i would be contributing to her.   Again, no idea what to say.

And then at the bottom in the signature area it states:

"I acknowledge that i have read "sponser and alien liabity" ..... as amended, and the Food Stamp Act, as amended. "

followed by a blank field to put something in....

but then you sign and date it half an inch below... so I don't know what the blank field is for?  Print your name? Sign your name a stupid second time?  Initial it?

And of course their "instructions" for filling out the form, contain no help at all about what they are asking for in any of this.

Any advice?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS-156 Error

i eliminated all the commas from my submission, and it still errors out, so that is not the problem.

If this is indeed an error 500 ... that implies that their back-end server that processes the data is down.   Which means, at best, it probably will be down until monday since if they don't even bother to monitor their own systems, they probably don't have anybody working over the weekends to restart the service.  But it sounds like it's been down at least this past Friday, if not part of thursday, so they are really out of touch with their systems... probably nobody has been able to communicated directly with the system administrators of the box to let them know it's even having problems.   Argh...    You're in the Army now... Hurry up and Wait....

Same problem here.  My attorney got the error several days ago as well (which is why i was retyping this again myself).  Frustrating as all get-out.

A question to be asked, but probably won't be answered cause they are not reading this, but are other people actually succeeding in getting their form submitted?  Is everyone having this problem, or only a select few of us?

Thank god that when i did a "back" on the browser, all the data was still there.   hopefully we can just keep trying to hit "Submit", and hope that our browsers/computers don't crash, before they fix this problem.

Note to self, don't forget and accidentally Quit Firefox... dohhhh
