Any advice will be greatly appreciated. THanks!!!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)still waiting to receive NVC case number...

It's been already 15 days since my I-130 was approved, i received NOA2 via reg. mail on Sept. 2nd saying case was approved on Aug. 22 and also said original petition has been sent to NVC for processing. Does anybody knows how long it takes the file to arrive at NVC??, i've been calling for the past week and they have no records as of yet, in the other hand my Mom in Venezuela is waiting to hear from the local US embassy so she can start gathering all the required docs but don't know how long it will take for the NVC to forward docs there, it says on the letter "NVC will contact the person for whom you are petitioning concerning further immigrant visa processing steps". Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks, i will email NVC and hopefully i can get my case number.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)AOS Bill /DS-3032 sent to NVC using James' shortcuts
I've called NVC last Tuesday and they said DS-302 & AOS bill were mailed on Sep.18, i used James' shortcuts to print AOS bill and attached $70 USPS money order and sent it overnight , same day my Mom emailed NVC regarding Choice of Agent, per USPS website, letter arrived yesterday at the St. Louis location , how long it takes until we get a confirmation from NVC that they recieved the above docs? I'd appreciate your advice on this.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Jame's Shortcuts

You can look at the timeline in my signature. It saved us a bunch of time, even with the RFE (we forgot to put N/A is one of the spaces).

Hello girl 37,
just out of curiosity, in which form did you forgot to put N/A and under what line??, so far looks like using James shortcuts have saved me lot of time during this process.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Quick Question on Immigrant Visa Fee Bill...
i waited until i receive the IV bill which arrived 1 week after it was generated, i sent USPS money order and overnight service, they did post the bill into the system Friday of that same week, see my timeline for more info, i used James shortcuts since the beginning of this process at NVC, try speaking directly with a live NVC operator to make sure it has been entered in their system. ;)

National Visa Center (Dept of State)IV Fee Bill mailing address

hey folks, i have a little situation here..i am out of town and another family member will be mailing our IV Fee bill for us. To make it easier i want 2 make the USPS Express Mail label already so she just has to take it to d post ofc n put it on d express envelope. so, can someone tell me what's the address that the IV fee bill gets mailed 2? also, there is no place on the IV fee bill that i have to sign is there? (other than signing the money order) thx again!

p.s. also, who is the payee? dhs or dos?

return payment for IV bill to:
National Visa Center
P.O. Box 790136
St. Louis, MO 63179-0136

if you use USPS express mail it should arrive at St. Louis the day after, i used a USPS money order payable to the "Department of State" , no need to sign, only your name and address and also make sure NVC case number is written on it. Hope this helps!!

thx, yes, big help. so on the money order we only need 2 write our case # and not the transaction number that is on the IV Fee bill? thx again

yes , only NVC case number along with your name and address, i'm looking at the copy i made of my visa bill the bottom portion (which is what you need to return) and it has a bar code on it with the case number below along with additional numbers, no need to write all this.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Changing consulate with case at NVC

Yes we have changed embassies in the middle of the process and so far so good. I submitted a request for change of embassy right before i submitted the i 864 and i just got the ds 230 in the mail the other day and i saw that 3 letters now have changed to the embassy we want it to be at. All I did was email then a change of this status. So I am sure with u faxing and and emailing, you will cover all your bases. Good luck on the rest of your visa journey!

Thanks so much, i was stressing out already, good luck to you too!!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Changing consulate with case at NVC
Hello VJ friends,
My mom just asked me this morming to ask Nvc if its possible to change consulate from Caracas to Guayaquil, Ecuador, she will be traveling in 2 wks due to a family emergency and because of this she will stay there (her country of originality) for a couple of months. i talked to NVC operator and she gave me instructions to fax letter and also send email to NVC to request this change, i just finished sending all of the above to NVC and i was wondering if anyone has gone through changing consulates while case is being reviewed, any idea how long it will take for case to be sent to new embassy after is completed at NVC? Thanks!

Oh my god!!! i was ready to hear the usual "we have no record of your case" this morning when i called NVC but i was in shock when the recording said my case was received on Sep. 6, 06 and gave me a case number (finally after 15 days of waiting)...thank GOd!!!, it also says that "please allow us 4 to 6 weeks for the beneficiary to receive notification", well i guess my MOm will be so happy to hear this, i hope they don't take that long, i would love to have my Mom here before the holidays. Should start gathering all the documentation required for the I-864?..Any advice?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEmail sample for ds-3032??

If we communicate this by e-mail, do we still need to mail in a form?

Alice

Email will suffice it. You don't need to mail the form. NVC will reply your email stating that your choice of agent is accepted. But the email has to be sent by the beneficiary.

What about if email on behalf of the beneficiary? how do they find out if email comes from the beneficiary?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-864 Form/IV bill printed out today

I just got off the phone with an NVC operator who said that Affidavit of Support forms are being printed out today and they will be mailed this week, same thing for the IV visa bill, is this the same thing as being generated?, should i go ahead and send Affidavit of support forms or wait for them to arrive by mail?

You can fill out the I-864 and gather everything needed for I-864, then mail them to NVC now. But for IV Bill, you have to wait for the mail to receive it, since there is no shortcut for it.

Thanks i will do that, is it ok if i send I-864 overnight?, after i receive DS-230 is it ok to use James shortcuts?/ :(

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCertificate of Police

Hello,
I am waiting for my Mom's case to be completed at NVC (probably by next month), meanwhile she is in the process of gathering all documents required for her interview at the embassy, she is originally from Ecuador and moved to Venezuela about 14 yrs ago, she has now dual citizenship Ecuador/Venezuela and i wanted to make sure what documents she needs to obtain, so far she has birth & marriage certificate from Ecuador, Certificate of Police from Venezuela and her Ecuadorean passport, my question. Is she also required to obtain Police certicate from Ecuador?, also, what would be the process at he US embassy after the receive file from NVC and how do they get in contact with the beneficiary?. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. THanks!!!

The basic rule is, if someone has lived in one country or any address for minimum 6 months, then he/she will need a police certificate from that country or location.

Thanks for your advice!! :D
