IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsThe unfairness of it all

Thanks for your post.  Hang in there.  You have already invested 7 months into the process.  Sometimes I think that the US government penalizes those of us who choose to marry abroad rather than bring our fiancees to the States to get married within 90 days of their arrival.  And when I do think that way. I immediately think to myself-- how unfair is that?   Oh well.  I do know that if I was given the chance to do it all over again, I would still marry my sweet wife in the Philippines so that all of her family, her church family, her close friends, and her business associates could be a part of our special day!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-130 APPLICATION APPROVED IN 13 DAYS!!! ^___^

See, but that's what I'm saying. I'm from March, transferred on Nov. 7th. My husband is from the Netherlands, and our case has been collecting more dust since transfer. I really think it's because you're from the Philippines at all, that they're pulling your cases and pushing them through faster.  I certainly understand the need to speed up the process for people in the affected area, but why are people who aren't from there also getting faster processing?

Don't get me wrong, and I mean this sincerely. I am happy for everyone who has already gotten approved. But I've been waiting for nearly 9 months, and it is very difficult for me to see people who have no reason to get pushed ahead of me, who filed after me and were transferred after me, get approved.

I can certainly appreciate your feelings, Kaylara.  I am sorry that you have been waiting since March for your I-130 to be approved so that you can be reunited with your husband here in the States.  I wish that I understood the logic and the rationale that is used by the USCIS in regards to the processing of petitions, but I don't.  My thoughts and prayers are with you that the start of 2014 will see your I-130 approved and moving on to the next stage at the NVC.

Congrats you two !

I would like to say that not all Philippines has been pushed along ahead of everyone else. Some of us wait the long, long wait as well.I am a mid May filer, transferred Nov. 20th and now we wait some more.  No one will ever be able to convince me any of this is necessary. Maybe the ultimate goal is  to see how many marriages they can stress out to the point of breaking?  I don't doubt anything from this government anymore.

Hang in there.  We were a late-May I-130 filer that got transferred on November 21st and approved yesterday (December 12th).  Wife is from the Philippines, but not from any of the areas affected by the typhoon.

It happened!  Finally approved our I-130 petition.

Received the following email message this morning, "Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN.  Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity.  On December 12, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2013 I-130 Filers

Yesterday I check on the case status of our I-130 and this is what I read:

"On November 21, 2013, we transferred this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

* So, it seems that our I-130 was transferred to a local USCIS office for future processing.  That's seems good news to me.  At least there is some movement, which is the first since it arrived at the USCIS in late May of this year.

Then earlier today I checked on our case status again and I see the following notification:

"The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

* I notice that now there is no date.  It still states that it was transferred.  It also states that it is now being processed at a USCIS office.  I am left to wonder: Is that "now" like in "now" or some future "now?  And what USCIS office (local field office or one of the service centers)?

Oh well, it looks to me like the wheels are beginning to turn; at what speed is yet to be determined.  I am reservedly optimistic about it all at this point.  Fingers are crossed.  :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2013 I-130 Filers

I just saw this thread.  So..."Hello" to all you May 2013 Filers.  I filed the I-130 on 24 May and received the NOA1 a week later from the NSC with a date of 30 May.  It has been almost 4 months and nothing more has happened.  Whenever I check the status of the petition on the USCIS website I see that it is still in "Initial Review".  Oh well, I have a feeling that I need to have a lot more patience before this whole process is over.
