Hi everyone!
I have a quick question concerning the Visa fee.. how does that work???
When should I pay for the fee and how? Do I need to transfer the money through Roskos & Meier or is there another way?
How long does that take - i.e. is it too unsafe to wait until say... a week or two before the interview.. ?
As always I'm a tad confused and would very much appreciate your help!
Thanks!

You pay through Roskos meier..It took like a week before i got the e mail that they received the money..I wouldnt wait until last minute w it...once you have it, you have it
Go on their website and they explane what to do..they sent you an e mail w a bank account # and you transfer the money to that account

good luck

Asia: SouthMedical Exam Report at the POE
No, they will not ask for the CD.
They will ask for the brown sealed envelope though and her full medical Exam should be in there.
They don't really care about the Cd at least I haven't heared of anybody who had to give the cd to the immigration officer.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)cover letter for Packet 3 and 4??
Hi

well Pack 3 is actually anyways just a letter, telling you to go on the government website and download the forms..fill them (DS 156 twice) and sent them back...no cover letter needed but if you have a Case # already write that one on the back of the envelope.

I would guess since you got refused entry it doesnt count as a visit.

Pack 4 is just a letter w your Interview appointment you receive from the embassy...you dont answer that one anyways so no cover letter either.

good luck

US Embassy and Consulate Discussioninterview date - how do I change it if I am on vacation?
okay hi

In my case it took like 2 weeks from sending pack 3 to receiving pack 4 with an interview date 2 weeks later... so altogether an interview date 4 weeks from sending pack 3 to Frankfurt.
I also had to change the date and just sent them an e mail explaining why i have to reschedule it..no problem
They give you an apointment date and time so you cannot choose.
In my case i didnt do the medical yet...in pack 4 they gave me an early interview time and they said 'go to the doc after the interview'..so i do both the same day..it also can happen that they give you a late time for the interview so you can do the medical before...it depends

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionvisa interview??? please help!

Hi,

yeah you can do the medical before, that doesnt matter cause they'll send it to the embassy anyways..
I was there Monday. You just walk in, fill out a sheet, give blood etc.. It took around 40 min.
It takes about 15 min from the Embassy to the Doctors office.

Yeah you need the original documents + one copy..bring 4.25 Euros Stamps

They were all really nice in Frankfurt

Good luck

Hi,

no notarization needed as said before.
We added a letter from my fiances Employer saying how much he makes and since when etc..no tax returns but we had a co sponsor and they gave us back his tax papers telling us they dont need them.
Better add them anyways to be save.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionquestions frankfurt
Hey, I was in Frankfurt for my Visa.

She has to fill out form DS 230,DS 156 2 times and DS 156K.
She sends them to the Embassy.

You have to fill out I 134 for her and send it to her. she needs to send that in too.

She'll get a checklist with the Pack 3 she checks all documents she has and sends the checklist also.

She has to bring her birth certificate + copy and police record + copy to the embassy and NOT send it in.

She also has to schedule a medical exam if she hasn't already done that. Otherwise the Embassy will give you an appointment at the physician the same day as the interview. (that's how it was in my case)

you take the interview letter and stay in line in front of the embassy. You show the security guy the letter and get a number. You in through an airport security kind of system
(make sure to leave cell phoes etc in the car or somewhere else)
You walk from the security house into the main building show the front desk person your Passport etc and she'll/he'll show you where to sit and give you a sheet how to order your stuff.
I think the 1st window is #23 and you give the passport, the letter that shows you payed the Embassy fee and a passport picture as far as i remember. Might be something else too.
Next window you give the birth certificate etc. sign the document ds 156k (you leave it unsigned when you send it in) and write name/address on envelope and put stamps on it
(bring 2 euro 40 cents worth in stamps)
last window is interview and fingerprints.

I hope that helped
Good luck

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionSpecifics on Medical Exam Process
Hi,

Okay I also dindt have a gyn exam..no peek etc.
They made an x ray of my lungs so I had to take off my bra but there was a woman and the x ray took only seconds.
I had to fill out some papers, the doc checked my heartbeat, vision test etc..i was always enough dressed during that
You can check under "embassy information", go to your fiancees country and check the physicians..call them , ask what they do.

good luck
moonstone 85FemaleGermany2009-12-12 18:04:00
CanadaDCFers - did you send in DS-230 and checklist only or supporting docs too?
You do NOT send the supporting documents (birth certificate, police record etc)
you bring these documents with you to the Embassy/interview.
So you just send in the checklist

good luck

You do NOT send it with the I129F petition.
You send it to your fiance and he will need to bring it to the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCo Sponsor Question
hi guys..

you don't send the I-134 papers to the embassy!
Neither yours (you have to fill one out too) nor the co sponsor one.
Your fiance takes those papers + all the evidence (pay stubs et) to the embassy.

good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGetting marry within 90 days
We started looking at Venues etc as soon as we sent out the K1 petition.
I looked at the internet for possible places and send him to check them out.
We put a deposit down on the venue and I looked at it when I arrived in the states.
We had a civil ceremony within the 90 days frame and just planned the big Party with family and friends for late though but it all worked out fine.
I came to the U.S in Feb, we had the civil ceremony in April and the big Party is in June.

good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFORMS DOUBTS
hey

I was au pair too for 1 year and if it states on the visa that is attached in your passport that the "2 year rule does not apply" then you are good.
You'll have to send a copy of that visa to your embassy in brazil at some point and that's all that matters to them.

Also I put my hostparents as my employer and never had any problems with that.

A denied tourist visa is no reason to have your fiancee visa denied.
But be prepred that they could ask about that at the interview.
I was denied a tourist visa and had no problems at all.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresproblems w overstay
hey guys,

I'm new here so sorry if this topic was already somewhere around and i didnt see it.
here my story..
I met my fiance last year November while in the states as an au pair w a J1 visa.
My au pair organisation offerd a "travel month"..my visa was good for 12 month but I took the offer and staied 4 weeks longer.
We filed for K1 in july, got approved in October and my case arrived in Frankfurt, Germany..
They sent me an RFE about my J1 visa..now it showes on the DS 156 that i staied 13 months in the US but my Visa was just good for 12.
I wrote my au pair organisation asking to write me something that this 13th monts was part of the program and i didnt stay just over illegaly.
Do you think i will have any problems to get my Visa there??
Thanks for the help

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRound trip ticket

Wyld Blu is correct. We also bought the round trip ticket because it was so much cheaper than a one-way. We had no problems not using the return trip ticket. I agree if there is any way you can wait until you have the visa in hand, it is much safer. Good luck on your interview!

I agree!
I also cameon a K1 with a roundtrip ticket
I had no problems at all entering and I just didn't use the ticket for back!
It was much cheaper than a one way ticket!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSo confused with this process :(

This is wrong, wrong, wrong.

"Starting June 4, 2010, all K-1 visa applicants will be required to pay a fee of $350 when they apply for a visa interview at their country's U.S. Consulate. The previous fee cost was only $131."

http://www.k1k3visal...view-increases/

Sorry I was not aware of this change!
I came in February and just had to pay the $131.
I apologise for the confusion!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSo confused with this process :(
only you need the police certificate but you don't send it, you bring it to the embassy with you!
The fee is $455!
You will have to pay for the medical examination (I think it as 120 in my case depending on the country I think)
and you will have to pay for the appointment at the Embassy (around $130 but that changes all the time)
you don't have to pay anything at the Embassy (so no $350 or whatever) since it's a K1 visa!
