Pork Giniling also known as Picadillo

INGREDIENTS:

  • Ground Pork
  • 1 medium slice tomatoe
  • 2pcs.potatoes cut into cubes
  • 2pcs. carrots cut into cubes
  • 1 small can green peas
  • red bell pepper cut into cubes
  • chopped onion - 1pc.
  • chopped garlic - 5 cloves
  • tomato sauce
  • ground black pepper
  • bay leaf/laurel or basil - chopped
  • cooking oil,patis or salt to taste
DIRECTIONS:

Heat a large pot and add the cooking oil. Saute onions, chopped garlic and chopped basil. Add ground pork, season with ground black pepper,and simmer for 5min or until meat is half cooked. Add sliced tomatoes, tomato sauce,patis or salt and simmer again until meat is done. Add cubed carrots, after 3min add cubed potatoes, cover with lid and simmer until vegetables are half cooked, add the red bell pepper and keep simmering for 10min.Complete cooking and serve.


Ooopps..nakalimutan ko lagay sa procedure yung green peas..isabay yun sa cubed carrots then after 3mins yung cubed potatoes na and the rest.

Enjoy!!!!

Then the left over you can make empanada or stuff with eggplant!

Ingredients :

· 1 lb. ground pork
· 1/2 cup finely chopped carrots
· 1 cup (6 slices) finely chopped (sweet or cooked) ham
· 3 tbsp. minced green bell pepper
· 3 tbsp. minced red bell pepper
· 1/3 cup sweet pickle relish
· 1/4 cup raisins
· 3 whole eggs
· 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
· dash of liquid seasoning
· salt & pepper, to taste
· 1 tbsp. cornstarch

· slices (wedges) of hard-cooked eggs
· slices (wedges) of Vienna sausage
· aluminum foil, 10" x 12" sizes


Cooking Procedures :

1. Prepare a steamer and set aside.
2. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix until well blended.
3. Divide the mixture into 2 to 4 portions (depending on how many you want to make).
4. Spread and flatten the mixture onto the center of each foil, divide the slices of hard cook eggs and Vienna sausages. Place each slices at the center of each mixture. Hold the foil onto your hand and roll until the ends of the mixture covers the eggs and sausages. Alternatively, by holding each ends of the foil, roll the mixture back and forth until it covers the slices of eggs and sausages in the center.
5. Finally, roll the aluminum foil into a tightly packed log about 1" to 2" in diameter, sealing on both ends. Repeat with the remaining pork mixture.
6. Place the embutido in a steamer and steam for an hour.
7. Remove from the steamer. Let it cool and slice into rings. Serve with your favorite catsup or sauces.

I will join this thread. Definitely I will try some of the recipes. Here's one of my recipe:

Beef Steak with Onion and Potatoes (Bistek)

Ingredients:
90ml or 3/3 cup Sweet soy sauce
60ml or 1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
500 g or 1 lb beef sirloin or tenderloin, sliced into (3x 1/4 in) thick fillets
375 ml (1 1/2 cup) water, or more i necessary
90ml or 3/8 cup cooking oil
2 large onion, peeled and sliced into rings
3Tbsp light soy sauce
4 Potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1 1/2 in, thick wedges and fried until light brown
salt to taste
2tsp cornstarch, mixed with 1 Tbsp water

Procedure:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine sweet soy sauce, lemon juice and pepper. Place beef slices in to steep and leave aside to marinate for at least 30 minutes. Reserve marinade.
2. Transfer beef slices and marinade to frying pan or wok. Add water and bring mixture to the boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium and simmer, uncovered, for 10minutes. Remove beef slices and set aside. Reserve liquid.
3. In a clean frying pan, heat oil over medium heat and fry beef slices for 2 minutes. Add onions and light soy sauce and stir to mix well.
4. Add fried potatoes and reserve liquid. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
5. Season with salt to taste and stir in cornflour mixture. Cook for 1 minute or until sauce thickens before removing from heat.
6. Dish out and serve immediately with plain rice and salad greens if desired.

My husband likes it. He thinks it's funny when i say Bistek.
