Once your case has been approved and a case number has been assigned by the nvc (can be from 4 days to 4 weeks) then you can call and speak with the NVC about the expedite, keep in mind the reasons for an expedite are different for NVC. Hope you have a fast journey star_smile.gif

blink.gif different???Oh my...thanks then wacko.gif

The reasons for an expedite are somewhat different with the NVC, but they are so much easier to deal with. I bet you will be fine! In my case, the NVC forwarded the expedite request to the Embassy and they were the one's that had to approve it. I wish you lots of luck! good.gif

Middle East and North AfricaTo you
I love these lyrics - Good luck finding what you need!

I don't need a lot of things
I can get by with nothing
Of all the blessings life can bring
I've always needed something
But I've got all I want
When it comes to loving you
You're my only reason
You're my only truth

I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven.s gate
There's a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you

You're the hope that moves me
To courage again
You're the love that rescues me
When the cold winds, rage
And it's so amazing
cause that's just how you are
And I can't turn back now
cause you've brought me too far

I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven's gate
There's a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you
Oh yes I do

I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven's gate
There's a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you
Oh yes I do
I need you
I need you

Middle East and North AfricaTrouble adjusting to life here
Also you might check with the "State" - Like the Department of Employment. I know where I live they have many special programs available to immigrants. They will pay for on-the-job training and then help him find a job. Its worth a try! I know he will feel so much better when he is working. Its hard for most men if they feel they are not contributing to the household. I will say prayers for you both. God is good and things will be ok - he just needs a little more time (and someone willing to give him a break!!) smile.gif

Middle East and North AfricaHelp on preparing docs for Casa interview - CR/1
I am sure this question has already been answered a hundred times - we just want to make sure we have everything perfect, so any advice is greatly appreciated.

On the instruction page it says this -

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: Any evidence which will show that you and members of your family who will
accompany you are not likely to become public charges while in the United States. The enclosed information sheet, Optional Form 167, lists evidence which may be presented to meet this requirement of the law. Form I-134 should be used when an affidavit of support is to be submitted.

I thought I just needed the I-864?? - which my husband already has in Morocco. Does he really need to have the I-134 also? Has anyone before who applied for the CR/1 had to have the I-134?

Again, your help is appreciated! I am sure more questions will be coming. blush.gif

I hope everyone has a blessed day and a wonderful weekend!!!!!!! kicking.gif

Middle East and North AfricaCrazy question for the MENA people
My husband would love it if I said I would move to Morocco. Right now, with a new grandson and a mother who needs my help, I can't. But, we have talked much about it and I have told him maybe someday we will. I have weighed the pros and cons so much. Here are the pros: When I go to visit, I have it easier than some people. His family has a "real" toilet in there home dancin5hr.gif - they don't use it much, but you know I did!! A little portable AC in the bedroom! I was never told how to dress. I am a modest person anyway, and saw many woman in Morocco who dressed "less" than I did. But the biggest pro for me is just the way of life there - so simple and I love that. They don't need all "stuff" we need...families seem to be much closer....less money worries (because you don't have so much). Just much more laid back than our way of life here in the USA. Cons are of course leaving my family cray5ol.gif - that would be hard...and never knowing when you will have enough money to come back home to visit. Definitely need a heater like some of you said. I was there the last time in December and walked around in the house for 3 weeks with leggings under my pants, 3 shirt on and a hat and gloves. OMG it was soooooooo cold. The animals would bother me too...I saw so much abuse of those poor horses - it made me sick. And all the dogs and cats running around with no homes made me so sad. Maybe I could start a "Human Society" there.??? wink.gif If i had a cold, I could deal with it...but something more serious, i would freak out with the health care system. I went to the dentist with my husband one day and couldn't believe the equipment they use - I would have to be in some serious pain for that stuff to touch my mouth. Anyway, bottom line for me is this....I think it would be a much easier adjustment for me to go there, then it will be for this kind, good-hearted, god-loving muslim man to come here. I can't even imagine. OH...and the plucking of the chickens??? NO WAY!!!!

Email the embassy and let them explain more to you if there is more than this form needing to be returned/or have your state rep question what is going on

He did scan the form...and it says:

" This office regrets to inform you that it is unable to issue a visa to you because you have been found ineligible to receive a visa under the following section(s) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. The information contained in the paragraph marked with "X" pertains to your visa application,

X = Section 221 (g) which prohibits the issuance of a visa to anyone whose appllication does not comply with the provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act or regulations issued pursuant thereon. The following remarks apply to your case.*
Il vous faut presenter le casier judiciare avec une traduction.
Please bring your court record and an English translation to the U.S. Consulate any day, Monday through Thursday, between 1:30 and 3:00 pm.

There is also a box that can be checked at the bottom saying "Further consideration will be given to your visa appliation after you obtain and present the docments listed above and/or the following* -

BUT, they didn't check that box!!

I am on expidite processing due to emergent medical need. This is #######. I will call the senators office now and also I am sending Casa an e-mail - hoping I can be decent smile.gif

Thanks for your help...Any more info is still appreciated!!!!!

Also, it doesn't say the word "DENIED" as i said before...i just panicked! Sorry!

Middle East and North AfricaCASA INTERVIEW TODAY
Husband had interview this morning. We were so sure we had everything we needed...but noooooooooo....We had his criminal record issued from the police department - not the court house. They gave him a paper called the "Optional Form 194". I have tried to find info about it on the net and on this site, but there's not much out there. I'm assuming its not very common??? Isn't this different than the 221g we talk about all the time? Is it worse? Its says in the form that his visa request has been denied and he needs to bring his criminal record that is certified by the court house next week. None of us like to hear the word "denial". If anyone has information, please help. I would appreciate it so much as I am worried sick.

If I had 10 cents for everytime I felt ignored on this site, I would have like 10 bucks by now....but none of us should take this personally. I bet all the girls on MENA like Just Jackie and Ganga Girl etc...all felt ignored a time or two. We are here to help each other...and learn information - a source of support and encouragement. Honestly, my first (and only) slumber party was a little hard for me too....I had maybe 5 words spoken for me. I sat quietly and that's my fault - I would never blame anyone but myself. People here don't know me - that takes time. When I left the party, I told myself that maybe the slumber parties just aren't for me - but after reading this post, I will be at the next one. smile.gif

By the way, husband was told to leave his passport at the embassy today. whistling.gif I know you all will just ignore that, but I wanted to tell you anyway. (joking) biggrin.gif

Tinnaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Girl I had been waiting for this bubbly topic for a while from YOUR MOUTH!

Don't worry your girlfriends are here to the rescue!

First off! - You are very sexy, no need to get worked up about no dang bra! There's soo many kinds anyway, I personally love lace good.gif

2nd- If you can find something red to wear I would recommend the color. It is both eye-catching, sexy and most of all, immediately will get his eyes on you at the airport!

3rd - Ya guys are so bad with time (um...my husband was totally planning to pick me up when I visited him last year on a sunday -((I was landing saturday))-so what am I supposed to be stranded at the airport for that whole day?!?!?) lol
So - NOT cool for him to pull a 12 hours difference mistake! nOW GET OFF VJ and scramble scramble your glowing butt to the shop and get something nice to greet him with or just take a cold shower to wash off the old Tina (who could wear ####### around the house) and welcome the NEW TINA! Ahem - officially Mrs. .....oh boy I cannot spell your husbands name laughing.gif

4th - I remember I gained 7 lbs when i was with him last year - With all the workout of a new husband's arrival, believe me hun, either you will both be fat from eating together (lol) or you will lose a ton of weight from all the travelin and walking together.

5th- I don't think either of you will have any problems with being intimate - it has been a long journey and the relief of it all will relax both of your minds - just not right now cause you haven't seen him yet. When you are together, it will all flow....smile.gif

Yes, best not to make plans, you should enjoy a relaxing lunch and have a wonderful day of no priority except erasing all of the trauma from your minds. The journey is over! A new one begins.

Tina I hope you are so happy that you look up at the sky the night of the 15th and say to God - "Thank you"

With love,
Tammy

Congrats!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif
