K-3 Spousal Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJANUARY APPROVAL, Let's do NVC together
Ok a little help please!!!

What is AOS and DS-3032 ?? My i-129f for a k3 visa was approved in January. Before i even knew it had been approved it was sent to NVC and forwarded to my consulate. I then e-mailed asking if they had recieved my case and they had so they e-mailed me my packet 3. Once i had completed the checklist and stuff i was able to e-mail them back and they set me up for an interview straight away. Passed my medical and now my interview is next week but i have no idea what everyone is talking about when they say AOS and DS-3032 and some bill or something.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks so much

Hi all.

I filed my I-129f for my K3 in August. I know i still have a wait a head of me but i was just wondering what happens once its approved? I know ill receive a packet or something telling what paperwork ill need to collect. Does anyone know what paperwork it is? Id like to start getting everything ready as things in my country seem to take forever to get a hold of.
Any help would be so appreciated.

Thanks
Kirst

I found also more info about K3 Visa on the website of the U.S. Department of State:

Applying for a Visa

The embassy or consulate where you, the spouse of an American citizen, will apply for a K-3 visa must be in the country where your marriage took place. Here are the procedures to apply. The embassy or consulate will let you know any additional things to do, such as where you need to go for the required medical examination. During the interview process, an ink-free, digital fingerprint scan will be taken. Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa applicant’s interview by a Consular Officer. The following is required:

Two copies of form DS-156, Nonimmigrant Visa Application
One DS-156K, Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application form
Police certificates from all places lived in since the age of 16
Birth certificates
Marriage certificate for spouse
Death and divorce certificates from any previous spouses
Medical examination (except vaccinations)
A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond the applicant's intended period of stay in the United States (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions).
Two nonimmigrant visa photos, two inches/50 X 50 mm square, showing full face, against a light background)
Proof of financial support (Form I-134 Affidavit of Support may be requested.)
Payment of fees, as explained below

Have a look at this limk for more details : http://travel.state....types_2993.html

Can i ask you where did you file your i-129f?? It looks like on your time line that your docs where apporved in about a month. How did you manage that?? HELP!!! lol

Im new to the site and in depserate need of some help. i keep getting conflicting info.
I am in South Africa and my husband is in the USA. He filled the i-130 form as requested - got our NOA - then filled the I-129F at the Vermont centre. We did this in May 2008. We received our 1st NOA about a week later. Im just wondering if anyone has an updated idea how how long it will be until we receive our 2nd NOA?? I also keep looking at the USCIS website at the processing times and really dont understand quite how to read it. A week ago it send for september they were processing forms from Feb 2008 - now it says for July 2008 its processing forms from Feb 2008. Im very confused! Does that mean the processing time has shortened? im so baffeled. my husband and i got married in Feb of this year and he had to return to the USA in April. So we have been apart since then and its just too long. I have seen post that it takes 8 months to process the I-129F then i have seen post that say 3 months.
Any help would be so apreciated. I am desperate!!
Thanks so much

#1 ignore anything you see about timelines on the USCIS website. They are required to post them and do so in a manner designed to reduce phone calls, it is in no way accurate or meaningful to you, the consumer. It is meaningful to them (reduces phone calls) and to bloodsucking immigration attorneys who use the inaccurate information to demonstrate how they will get you a visa "faster than normal" which is, of course, complete BS but if you are a bloodsucking immigration attorney, truth of is little interest to you because if you were truthful you would have no immigration clients at all. 'nuff said? It has nothing to do with actual processing times.

Check the VJ timelines which are based on actual experience. I filed my I-129f in Vermont in March and got the NOA2 in May. 61 days. Could have had visa in hand in about 110 days but could not make the first interview date offered, our problem, not theirs. If you put your timeline in at your VJ membership it will give you a much more accurate estimate of when you will receive your NOA2.

Gary

I don't think any of the timelines are accurate. You are correct that the USCIS timeframe shows a date to help limit the number of calls from petitioners and Congress that they must address.

VJ timelines don't consider expedites and the sample size is small. This means that if someone who filed in November is finally approved, the VJ timeline will alter your approval date. If someone files an expedite and their petition is approved in a matter of weeks, the timelines are altered. My timeline date on VJ showed September 16th all the way up until September 14th. Every day I look at it, it moves out about 4 days... so I just stopped looking.

As Gary's post shows, Vermont processes K1 applications much much quicker than they process CR1/IR1 or K3 applications. I also filed both my I130 and I129 in March (K3) and I am still waiting on an NOA2.

Good luck with your journey!

No with the VJ timeline shown on here why does that keeo changing? one day it says that my forms will be adjudicated between march 20 ad april 2009 then the next day it say they will be adjudicated between 14 Feb and March 2009? I JUST DONT GET IT!!!!
LOL I feel like im going crazy cause we have no definate timeline to go by. so how can i keep checking this timeline if it literally changes every single day. it now says that my I-130 will be adjudicated before my I-129F!! Im so confused. i just want a month to look forward to and just when i see some light at the end of the tunnel the dates move.

Just wondering if any july filers have got their NOA2 yet? i filed in august and just wanna know if there has been any progress

i know!! some people keep telling me to look at 4-6 months then others say 6-8 month wait for my NOA2! When i started the process the timeline was like 4 months!! why the change?? VSC use to be the fastest! i just cant wait another however many months till approval! i just dont get what takes so long!!! how can they keep spouses apart for such a long amount of time. lets all hope to process will speed up soon and suprise us all

Yeah we need a real October surprise out of VSC!
I suppose the biggest surprise is how it never occurred to me that it would be so difficult to bring my wife to the U.S. Most U.S. citizens have not gone through this process and mistakenly believe we can bring our spouses into the country immediately.

Yip that was a surprise to us to. And everyone that always asks me why im not back in the USA yet with my husband. no one understands, including me why its so long and difficult. we are married but still being kept apart buy visa's. its crazy. they should deinately look at a quicker way to reunite people. its just madness

Im freaking out just a little here!!! Anyone have some advice? Are there any August filers that have recent updates?

Thanks all. And Good luck

Hey
We're August filers too and no news of approval yet...I saw other people called I don't know if that helps. I wonder what's gonna happen in some days with the president elections, maybe they use it as an "excuse" to delay our waiting more... mad.gif . Let's hope not

Anything can be an excuse for VSC: the large number of petitions received more than a year ago, the large number of naturalizations that had to be ready by past September, the presidential elections due next month, the bad weather any day... Why CSC is so different from VSC? (Just to think about it...)

Do you guys think that maybe processing times might speed up now that all the applications for the elections are over? i hope so cause when i first started this process the processing times were were like 4 months. i cant wait another 4 or 5 months!!!
its seriously crazy!! the long wait is just unacceptable! how can they keep spouses appart for so long. i see that there have also been more K1 approvals than k3! why is that?
i have so many questions!! lol sorry im also just frustrated like everyone else is im sure. thanks all for the help so far.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 approved before I-129F??
Hi all

I wonder if anyone can help me. I keep looking at my VJ time lines and im very confused. For my
I-129F It says that it will be adjudicated between 28 March 2009 and April. then the next day it say between feb and march. it keeps changing so dont know the proper timeline.
Also the timeline for my I-130 keeps saying it will be adjudicated in Jan or Feb. Which is quite far before my I-129F. I was wondering... if my I-130 is approved before my i-129f can i leave the country immediately? do i still need a k3 visa? will i still have to wait for my i-129f to also be approved.
im very confused so any help would be great.

Good luck to all in your journey. Hope it speeds up

QUOTE (cjgator @ Nov 6 2008, 03:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The people that you hear say they are processing june and july are feeding you a line of BS. If someone with those dates is getting processed it is because they got blindly lucky and slid into the system. Both national and VSC have agents have reported directly to me on the phone over numerous discussions within the last 10 days that they are presently processing March, and all you have to do is look at the numerous posts of people waiting on this website, or go to Igor's list to see who is waiting and who has just been approved and you will see where the timeline is at. My NOA1 for my I 129F was 4-4, and my case was just sent to an officer on 11-1. Another guy, CJ Vasani, has dates very close to me also and was just assigned an officer on 10-28.

Unless you get really lucky (which is always a possibility), you should probably be planning one, or two more trips over. VSC is still mid-way through the march filers, and they are just beginning to get to the april filers now. Their processing time, although they show on the wbesite now as 6 months, is really somewhere closer to 7.5 - 8.5 months. And there are some who are even outside of that timeline. You should consider yourself a very fortunate person if you are approved before March 2009.

I have been following the processing timelines shown for Vermont
as they have changed from May to April and then to March. Are they really
working? My petition date is August and I am wondering if I should be planning
another trip to visit my wife or if Vermont is actually going to do something
to process the petitions they receive, or if we need to ask if USCIS will
consider transferring the massive workload these people suffer, to
California who seems to be either performing or they have a light
workload. Any ideas?

I was just wondering how you know its going to take 7-8 months? Where did you find that out? Cause there are peopel on here saying they are processing June and July? So im just very confused and not sure who to believe

aarrgg this is just so frustrating!! where can i go to see who had recently been aproved?
I dont get it cause if you look at the timeline at CSC people from August have already been approved. what is going on there??? then i see people from march april like you said that are still waiting. but then june july and like i said august that have been aproved at VCS!!
I just want a real date to look forward too and keep getting mixed info.
thanks for the help though

I really do pray that VCS goes by the NOA1 date from your i-130!!! That means i should be approved much earlier than i was expecting! I got my noa1 for my i-130 in May! but my noa1 for my i129f only in august. do you think this could actually be good news for me??

Mrs. Rhoades - Congratulations. Can you please fill up your timeline or let us know when you sent your I-130 and I-129F and when did you get your NOA1? That could help the rest of us to guage VSC's working timeline.

I applied for I-130 in fed, and got NOA1 on 27th march.
I applied for I-129 in july, and got NOA1 on 1th august.

I called the congressman and some one at USCIS told him that they were doing late feb, march and some april. So even when VSC is so slow it is moving along. Don't give up kicking.gif keep on going at it.

WOW You sent you I-129F in july and already got an approval??? Thats awesome! Congrats. Does this then mean that they are going by i-130's now??? IM SO CONFUSED!!!!

Congrats to the two of you that got approved. Still though, only two this week?? thats just disgusting!!! And to be honest i hope that the I-129F NOA date is irrelevant cause i only filled that in August but filled my I-130 in May. And i have seen someone who filled their
i-130 in May and their 129f in July and they got their NOA2 for their K3 last month.
I wish we really knew how this thing worked and they stuck to what they say they are doing. but they say one thing then it changes 5min later!! How can we keep up!!!
Well lets just hope we get some more approvals today and the process hurries the hell up!! Good luck everyone

lets hope they pull their finger out now and start processing them quickly - get rid of the so called "backlog" so we can all be with our loved ones again!!
Hows your journey going Deepak?? as frustrating as mine? i understand what it feels like seeing people who applied the same time as you or even after you and have been approved! Have you seen all the K1's that have been approved!!! aarrggg its very frustrating. people who filed in september for their k1's have already been approved! how wrong is that!
well lets just hope there is good news on the horizon for us all.

Thanks
