Russia, Ukraine and BelarusHelp, I need advice
Hello all......thanks for all your advice.

Well let me finish the story.................

The night after I wrote she woke me up in the middle of the night and we made love for two hours. The next morning it was like nothing was ever wrong and it has been perfect since.

She finally was able to tell me that she was just really tired from the 12 hour plane ride, the 12 hour train ride befoe leaving Russia and the 12 hour drive when we cme home from Atlanta. She missed her family and I did not understand she was so tired, trying to get her to get up when she slept while I was at home.

Well that was three days ago, she is still as romantic as she was in the middle of the night.(she is wearing me out), she constantly tells me she loves me and talks about all the things we will do together. She says we are partners nafsegda(forever). I got a calling card for Russia nd she has called her friends and family and I heard her tell them she is happy and loves her husband.

Women, so hard to understand. she starts her ESL classes on Monday. We got her a backpack tonight, she is thrilled.

Now that things are going so great we have to start working on the "big" problems like using the washer and dryer instead of washing her clothes by hand.

And for all of you who thought I was whining about the $40,000, she is worth that and a million more......I would do it all over gain for the happiest she is showing me. Yes it was for the ring, monthly gifts, flowers, plane tickets, train tickets and I bought her son an apartment; Yes I would do it all again.

She is awesome..............Larry

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusHelp, I need advice
Hello:

my wife and I wer married in March She went back to Russia recently and returned about a week ago on an advanced parole.

Ou marraige has been perfect, everything is wonderful. She passed her green card with flying colors, she loves my children and grandchildren(she has two sons nd two grandchildren back in Russia)

All of a sudden two days ago, she quit talking to me...........the only thing I did was complain a little that she was sleeping too much(jet lag I guess) Nothing was differnt when she came home, in fact she was so warm and romantic it was wonderful.

Today I could barely figure out that she was really homesick but will not talk about it. She is not saying she wants to go back or anything but she just stopped talking to me, showing any emotion everything.

Has anyone experienced anything like this I can understand her being homesick, we have talked about it before but always she told me that she loved me more than anything and never wanted to go back to Russia except to visit.

She mubled somethning about ten days she would be OK but I am really worried. I have over 2 years, $40,000 and my whole heart invested in her. It would just kill me to lose her at this point in my life. She speaks very little English and I speak very little Russian so that makes it even more difficult There are a few other women in the area from Russia but she says she does not want to talk to them.

I have translated several notes to her trying to find out what is going on, she just says do not speak to her right now.

I am devestated.

Any advice anyone.

You all are trying to hard.

Travelocity .com, tickets on Delta from Moscow $800 -1000 depending on where you are going. Atlanta is non-stop. 12 hour flight.

She just takes her passport to the delta counter at the airport and checks in, even brought her cat over last trip, no problems.

Have a fun life.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusTourist Visa for my wifes son and grandson..
He is married and 30 years old, grandson is 5. They just want to come over and spend time with his mom and see all the things she talks to them about.

You have to give more information. My assumption is that he at least 21 if he has a child. So that would mean it wouldn't be so easy only because of the "assumption of immigrating" that the USCIS has when they evaluate visa applications. Give more info about age of son and grandson, marital status all those good things.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed Help
Hello everyone.

Maria is coming to USA next Tuesday, I am flying to Atlanta to meet her flight from Russia. She is still having trouble with selling her Resturant but is coming over for three weeks and will go back to finish sale at that time. I need to know what to do about applying for her aos, social security card, green card etc.

Should we file when she is here or wait till she comes back. Will she have trouble entering a 2nd time. Should we go ahead and get married while she is here or wait till she comes back. I am confused on all this.

We met online in December of 2004, I met her in person last March and we got her Visa in Moscow in December. I am very anxious to have her as my bride but I want to do things the right way to avoid problems later. I know we have 60 days from her entry date to get married. What should we do.

Thanks, Larry

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFrustrated
Maria arrived in USA yesterday. Today we went to Driver License Bureau to get her a State ID Card. They said they cannot issue one until we recieve Social Security Card. So we went to the Social Security Office to apply for a card. They said they cannot issue her a card until we have her green card.

What are we suppose to do. We understand that in order to get married we must have a ID Card. Will they accept her Russian Passport. We are getting married in Eureka Springs Arkansas. They have no waiting period. So we plan to get married this weekend.

I am starting the process of filing AOS as soon as we are married. It is so wonderful to have her here but we are frustrated at the momment.

I need advice. Thanks, Larry

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOct 25th... Approved..
I went to Moscow wiht my wife Maria for her interview. I stood outside in cold blinding snow storm for two hours waiting for her. I thought I was going to freeze to death but when she came out with that beautiful smile on her face, I knew it was all worth it. She has been here for seven months now and we are as happy as two love birds should be.

Wear warm clothes if you go during the winter. There is no good place to wait. I went ot a store for a drink across the street but you can't see her come out from there.

Have a wonderful life. Larry and Maria

I will be going to Moscow for the interview when we get that date. Yes I know I can not attend the interview but we both want to be together for this.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview Valentines Day!
Hello VJ Family. Just wanted to let everyone know that I pick my fiancee up from the airport on Saturday the 11th and we leave together for Montreal on Sunday. Ironically, our interview date fell on Valentines (L) day which will hopefully help out the situation. I'm pretty sure that they'll consider it as just another day. I'm going into the interview with a criminal record under my belt from when I attended University in the USA. My record in Canada is clean as a whistle! Hopefully this won't affect things to drastically.

One quick question before I sign off. What photo do I attach to the DS-156 in the bottom right corner? Thanks again for everyone's help throughout this gruelling process. I'll be sure to keep you up-to-date. Can't wait to see my babe!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLeaving the USA on a K1

You can apply for AP (Advanced Parole) but only once you are married alongside your AOS & EAD applications. Until that time, although you won't be stopped leaving the US, you will be stopped on re-entry. This will normally mean that you'll need to re-apply, either for another k-1 or for a spousal visa.

Basically without AP you won't be able to travel outside the US without experiencing almost garunteed problems when you try and get back in.

Mark :)

Thank you!!!!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDidn't get my visa....YET!!!
Hello everyone. Thought I'd update you on my visa experience. I had my interview in Montreal on Valentines Day, the day of love, but that didn't matter to the consulate. I was TEMPORARILY denied for a couple reasons. So for those who are getting nervous about an upcoming interview, don't be, because if you're not in my shoes and won't experience what I'm about to tell you, everything should be 110% fine.

I showed up for my interview at 8am. Walked straight in. Went through security. Make sure you don't have a bottle opener on your key chain  . Waited in a room until the elevator was opened. Once I got into the elevator, the unthinkable happened. I notice a woman infornt of had a large yellow envelope in her hands and that's where it hit me. I was so nervous before leaving that I actually forgot my medical. I couldn't believe it! I We went to a large room upstairs and waited for the notorious window #14 to open. Once it did, I let a couple people go ahead of me. Once I decided to go up, I paid my $100 and was give the number 4. My fiancee and I waited about 15 minutes which seemed like an eternity. Finally my number was called for me to go to a back room which had several booths with a glass window separating me from the consular officer. Of course, the first thing she asked for was my medical. I just about dropped to my knees and and broke down. But I contained my self-control and proceeded. She asked for my affadavits (I had a co-sponsor and a sponsor). Then she asked for the DS-156 and DS-156k and I signed them. Then she told me to take a seat and that my number will be called again shortly. After another grueling 15 minutes my number was called. I went back to the same booth and the officer told me that the FBI did a background check and found some problems. She asked me if I had been arrested or convicted and of course I told her the truth. Before I went to the interview, I typed out a description of each incident that occured to me in the past. She was very appreciative that I did this. I'll tell you this, whatever helps them by making things more clear and easier to deal with makes the process much smoother. So she was very thankful that I wrote that up for her. Then she told me that I will NOT be receiving my visa today because ANOTHER check had to be done due to the fact that I had "MULTIPLE INFRACTIONS". I was taken to another room so they could take my fingerprints which cost me $85!!! Not cool!!! I was broke after that. Then they told me that the prints will be sent to the FBI and they will compare them to prints that I have taken in the past. They just want to make sure that I was the same person who had prints taken at the time of my incidents to the prints that were taken at the interview. Now, if the FBI approves, the all I have to do is send in my MEDICAL, PASSPOSRT (so they can staple the visa to it), and a LONG FORM OF MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE (I only had my short form, which is the card). The officer told me that technically it didn't matter that I forgot my medical. Still a downer though :crying: . That process could take another 2-3 weeks. If I'm NOT approved by the FBI because of the multiple infractions, I would have to apply for a waiver through the Department of Homeland Security, which could take up to 1-2 more months.

Other than that, the interview wasn't bad at all. For everyone out there that have a clean record, have all the correct papers and don't forget anything extremely important, there will be no problems at your interview.

Last thing, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LOOOOOOOOOOOONG FORM OR YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE! I was never informed that I needed this.

Thanks for reading and best of luck to everyone else on their 'Visa Journey'.

Miro & Jess

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFBI APPROVED!
Just wanted everyone to know that after being temporarily denied my visa, the prolonged process has been cleared by the FBI. I had not one, not two, not three, but FIVE misdemeanor offences while I was attending University. Oh the good times! :P Definitely not proud of them though! :P Anyways, we called yesterday and the consulate said they received the fingerprints back from the FBI and everything was good to go and the visa is in the mail and will be here sometime today! Thanks for everyones help throughout this process. Good luck to those still in the process.

United KingdomGot an interview date
Was down this morning before work cause I knew my parents wouldn't help out; they disapprove of anything to do with our relationship. Sure enough, when I called my dad he reminded me of the way they feel about this and said no. I really had no idea who I could approach that would be willing AND able to co sponsor. I get to work and they could tell right away things weren't as they should be. I explained what happened and never got the chance to ask before I had 2 co-workers volunteer, no questions asked.
As soon as J gets the paperwork they gave her sent to me I'll be able to send it right back with completed forms etc from co-sponsor. Courier will pick it up from her home and deliver to embassy. Visa should be on way to J within days from that, so they told her.
All in all, puts things back a couple of weeks or so. Maybe by Christmas. Here's hoping.......

Visa denied based on income tax from last year. Never mind the fact I make more than enough now, I've already made more than minimum as of September. The "fat cow" as she called her wouldn't even look at the info for this year. Now she has to mail me a form to be filled out by a co-sponsor, if I can find one. So much for being here by Thanksgiving. Even Christmas is in jeopardy now.

I'm getting anxious with the interview process right around the corner for my fiancee in the UK. I've been reading up on what is needed or asked for at the interview. My problem is this: my tax return for last year is going to be borderline with the 125% over poverty guideline due to layoff etc. I've been at my current job a little over a year now and make well over the 125%. Should I foresee any problems for my fiancee at the interview (IO asking for only tax returns) or should she be ok if I provide copies of bank statement, paystubs etc? Thanks. I'd be pulling my hair out if I had any.
