This is a list of some Popular Questions that LionLioness wrote up a while back. Hope it helps!

SOME POPULAR QUESTIONS:

1. Where/How Did you meet your fiance? (You DID not meet through another moroccan friend, they don't need to know that your SO has morocann family and friends here in the states - trust me not a good idea)

2. Address, Birthday, Type of work US fiance does, Phone numbers, etc ( YOu need to drill your man on this, he should know it IN ENLGISH off the top of his head!)

3. Previous relationship (Outside of one or both of you being divorced your SO is NOT obligated to know a detailed history of your romantic past! He is in love with you now and that's that. He need not speak about his past flings either Bad bad bad)

4. Friends and family of US citizen. (It's nice if he knows your parents first names and your best friend name - THAT'S IT-remember he's in LOVE with you and it should be all about you-that's all they need to know)

5. If you have moved and have not notified USCIS - USE THE OLD ADDRESS! Don't send your SO in an interview with new address B when old address A is what is in the files. Right there - he's lying and you can be denied!!!!!!! (in the eyes of the officer that is)

6. Where do you intent on marrying? (Perfect answer "my fiance have discussed this and we're going to pick a place together upon my arrival to the states. The minute he says a mosque, that says he's a devout practicing muslim, they don't need to know that and if he says a church, they may question why not in a mosque, don't open the can of worms unless they do!)

7. MONEY - WHAT MONEY (ladies, please don't send your fiance in there with a list of all the money you sent him. This hurts more than helps!)

8. Evidence - don't go bananas with pounds and pounds. (I've seen a couple people that were denied include too much information. If you're sending 500 pages of chat conversions make sure you read through everyhting and have removed anything that will give them ammo against you. For example, discussion of money or past relationships). A couple of chat conversations is fine, you don't need to send 5 years worth.

9. Why do you want to go to the US? (BECAUSE, I LOVE AND NEED TO BE WITH MY WIFE - SHE IS MY WORLD....NOT because you want to see your 12 cousins here!! Tell your SO to stick to how much he loves you -period.

thank you for the answer but i'm not sure if i can get access to the consulate with a big photo album + the evidence of relation in bag !!!!

don't worry ,you'll be fine.you can take all the pictures and evidence u want.just take off the pictures from the album and put them in a involope.that's what I did and it went cool.

I sent my wife's Ds-230 packet lately and was told over the phone that they need an additional police certificate from me (perhaps court record) although I've already submitted a "fiche antropometric". Which one guys (from Morocco) did you end up submitting to the NVC? Any feedback is much appreciated!!

If you've never been in jail, you don't have to send the court recourds ''sijil al adli''.you have to send just police certificate ''hosn asira or fiche antropometric '' from all placed lived since you were 16 years old.and you should make sure it said ''nothing or no record'' not just a line in the middel.

Thanks Tarik for your prompt response! However, I was told over the phone that they need both wacko.gif . My wife's fiche antropometric says "la chaia" No record. And they still want the "casier judiciare" Perhaps the operator wasn't experienced enough! So you didn't receive an RFE for not sending that? ohmy.gif

ok wait you need to clear this out :)who's the petitioner ? you or your wife ? and are you an american citezen or permenent ?
and for ur question, the casier judiciare or court recoreds not needed unless the police cert stats that u've been arrested before.and by the way u sent both english and translations right ?

Middle East and North AfricaWHO PAYS FOR ALL THE PLANE TICKETS

If you married to him and want to truly be traditional, your money is also his and you wouldn't be keeping tally.

Middle East and North AfricaWHO PAYS FOR ALL THE PLANE TICKETS

Oh honey, this is so sad to hear your heart breaking through your words.

I have to admit, I believe he is a scam. I wish I could say different. And the reason isn't because of the money, or the gold you didn't get, but rather the lack of communication between you. When a man (or woman) is in love they will find a way to talk to you. That is the key.

My husband and I were online everyday with each other. Webcams, headsets, everything. He would leave his cam on while he slept, and so would I. It made us feel that is some small way we were together.

I did buy my own plane tickets. I did send him a little money to help, but not much. He didn't give me a huge Mahr, and a very modest wedding ring. But now he is here, and our money belongs to us both...his and mine. Yes I do make more than him, but that isn't even the issue. The issue is whether or not your relationship is real, then how you handle your money is the decision you make between yourselves.

I wish you wouldn't waste one more minute feeling ashamed or foolish. You gave your heart unselfishly. What a beautiful thing!!! Any man that doesn't appreciate that and doesn't give you the honor, love, and respect you deserve doesn't deserve your beautiful heart. Rather I think you should hold your head high and know that you did the best you could, and he is the failure. You do need to take some time to heal, but don't close your heart completely. There are still a lot of good men out there, you just have to know the signs.

Hugs to you

Thank you for this reply

Middle East and North AfricaWHO PAYS FOR ALL THE PLANE TICKETS

Just a quick question for all the American women, did you pay for your plane ticket over to see your love, or did he pay for you? I understand they are from poor countries, but I am not that rich either, and not a sugar mama. Just really interested, because I have a husband in Egypt, whom I never talked to, but I paid for the plane ticket to see him and now i am paying all of this off working myself to an early grave. I guess I am a little old fashion and would like the man to take care of some of this, but maybe that is not the way things work. So please share with me who pays for what and did you feel kinda of mad if you have to pay all the bills, is it almost like buying a husband. That is how i feel now.

you're married right,so I think there isn't your money and his money its all your money,it doesn't matter who pays.
I'm sorry but I don't think you will have a very happy marriage if you kept thinking this way.

Hi Tarik,

thank you so much for your quick response! he is in Rabat... from Ouarzazet, but recently changed his identity card to Rabat. from what i can understand, the man at the mukata is "handling" it for him?? what the heck that means, i don't know... it has been supposedly "sent" to the police for whatever they do to it, and now it is awaiting a signature? does any of this sound right? i'm so worried and upset. i really think he's just been robbed and we've been waiting all this time...

also, does it matter what his job is? he works in the souk, has been working in the same shop (that he doesn't own) for about 6 years. does matter that he's not a "professional" lawyer or engineer or anything like that?

thanks again, so much,
hz

I think the only thing thats wrong with ur husband's passport is they want him to give them a bribe.and about the job no it doesn't matter at all I don't work at all I'm still a student in college and the ocupation wasn't a problem for me during the visa prossece.

Hi again,

he's already given them 1,000 dirhams, in addition... do you think he's been robbed?

thanks for your input... sorry i'm being so emotional...

WHAAT 1000 dhs ohmy.gif when I said a bribe I was thinking 100 dhs at the most.oh yeah he's absoulotly being robbed.

Hi Everyone,

sorry i am usually so quiet around here. i kind of lurk in the K1 Visa Forum, but every once in a while i check in with MENA.

today something terrible happened. today i'm at my wit's end. those of you engaged or married to Moroccan men, can you please tell me if it was difficult for your SO to get his passport from the Moroccan authorities?

my habibi and i have filed all of our papers, we're anxiously awaiting our NOA2, and in the meantime, my fiance is trying to get all his documents together. we knew the passport might take a while, but it's been 5 months! that's a lot of time, no? he knows someone who works in the mukata, (the passport section, i guess?), who is "helping him" and every time, he goes to ask about the passport, they give him a different answer. they've been telling him "come back next week," "come back tomorrow at 3," "come back next Thursday," and it's never ready. supposedly, he's been issued a receipt number, but how do we know if it is even valid?

have any of you experienced this? is it normal for a Moroccan citizen to have to wait 5 months for a passport?

please help. i just want to cry...

hz

ok first in which city does ur husband live? mine took 2 months but that's not normal, alot of ppl get it within a month. mine was late because a stupid woman that take the papers when u first file didn't tell me that in 2 weeks I need to go to the police station to do some paper work there. so mine was held there for a month.
you should ask ur husband if they told him to go to the police station.
5 months is NOT normal at all.If I was him I'd go there and b*tch my a$$ off biggrin.gif

Wow Tarik...you've not even entered the US yet and you already learned those words??? blink.gif

OP: I hope the information you got from Tarik helped and you can resolve this soon. I'm glad you brought up this issue because it reminded me that my husband should see about getting his new passport started shortly.

well thats what we get from watching alot of americans movies laughing.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresso confused help pls !
OK first I know this makes no since but i'm wondering if it has happened to anybody else .
my wife recieved the bill for the Affidavit of support, and she sent the payment to the NVC ,then they sent her the the Affidavit of Support form I-864.she gathered all the required information and papers and she sent them to the NVC.now the problem is we checked the online automated recorded message for our case and it said that some information were missing in our affidavit of support and they sent us a letter letting us know what we missed.till now things still ok because we thought whatever it was we can fix it.so we waited for the letter to come from the NVC for like 3 weeks and we didn't recieve it.during that time I recieved the immigrant visa processing fee bill and I sent the payment to them.well my wife and I started to wonder why she hasn't got that letter from the NVC yet so I asked her to call them.and she talked to an operator and he said that our affidavit of support was completed and that message means that they just waiting for the the immigrant visa processing fee bill to be paid from me.
that doesn't make any since to me wich leads me to think the operators there don't really know what going on with our cases.but I'm wondering if anybody has experienced the same issue before ???

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresImmigration lawyer and interview question

salam/hello

I have recently gotten married and my husband and I decided it was better for him to go back overseas while I file here. I must mail my I130 but I am nervous to do it myself. Not because I am going to do it wrong as I am not afraid to hassle the USCIS for questions:) I have it filled out but what I am nervous about is if something is done wrong on it, they will send it back and make the process go longer. (after they sat on it for a month before sending it back to me I'm sure) I want things to go quick (ok as quick as immigration will allow). I'm wondering if it is to my benefit to hire a lawyer even though my husband is overseas or just go ahead and deal with it on my own?
What is everyone's experience with immigration lawyers? In the waiting process, I'd think they would know who to talk to to get answers more than the average person like me would. I have also been warned that they (immigration) hassle you at the interview as well but they are lighter on you if you have a lawyer. (although I assume my husband will have a seperate interview in the middle east and I will have one here)......What kinds of things do they ask at the interview? (I know it is early but at least my husband and I can take advantage of all the time we must wait and prepare ourselves)

Thanks

Hi.
Ok first I don't know alot about lawyers but I think the only thing they can help you with is to show you how to fill the papers and tell you what you should exactly send wich is not a big deal and you can do it yourself.
and about the interveiw, you will have one in the consulate in your countrey before you get the visa.and your spouse won't have any interviews unless they thought your marriage isn't real or fruad, in this case you will have an interveiw after you move to USA,and they will interveiw both of you but in seperate rooms and as I've heard they ask alooooot of questions about your relationship and anything that would proof your marriage isn't real.

Oh,I think I misunderstod.I thought your husband is the american citezen not you.sorry !

No, all the above is incorrect. Please check the DOS site http://travel.state..../info_3176.html, then choose your embassy and see the list of documents that you need to submit. You DO have to send originals or certified copies along with translations.

I would send copies of all translated documents. This should include a copy in Arabic, the translation and any papers that include the certification of the translation. Retain the originals and additional copies of all and have them available for the interview if requested.

I don't think the birth certicates and such are needed in the package sent to the NVC. it was sent with the original petition that you received a NOA1 from.

Thank you for replying guys.
I'm sure that birth cert is required i'm just not sure if they required it in my lang and english or just english.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAbout my Spousal Visa .. We are lost, need help.

Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read our story and our questions.

<!--coloro:#FF0000

color#4169E1--><span style="color:#FF0000

color#4169E1"><!--/coloro-->Looks to me that we dont have a way out to solve our problem.. I came to this country as a tourist, my husband is an american citizen, we got married last year in Vegas .. there shouldn't be much complication, but, there is...we are both 19, and he doesn't know anybody in the US since he has lived all his life in Peru and just recently moved back to Los Angeles after 14 years to attend college, meaning he does not work and does not know anybody here to be able to help us with this process...

We need to have an Affidavit of Support, since he does not work nor has any other type of income (besides financial aid from college) he is not able to be my sponsor or we need a co-sponsor...According to what I've read online, anyone who is either an american citizen or a permanent resident who works and earns above 125% the poverty guidelines can be my sponsor... But!!!!! We just dont know anybody here... He does know some people from his own school, but most of them are international students anyways.. and the other students are full time students, so they don't work neither..

Is there a way out for us? Is there any idea ? Something helpful you might be able to share with us?
Im just worried since my tourist visa expired already 2 months ago, I dont want to sound dramatic...but, will I ever have my green card? We both would like to celebrate our first year anniversary in London, but we've been married for 7 months already...and still we dont know what to do about finding a co-sponsor. And also, Im worried because I miss my grandparents who are in Peru, they are getting older..I do really wish to see them before they get older and older ...you get my point.

Well, thank you again... Every comment is highly appreciated and respected.. Thank you again...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUrgent question !
Hi.
I've asked this question before buy I didn't get any clear answer.I'm getting ready to send the form DS-230 and required papers.my question is :Is the court and prison records required ? even it said this in the instructions packet :

Court and prison records
Applicants who have been convicted of a crime must obtain a certified copy of each court record and any prison record, regardless of the fact that he or she may have subsequently benefited from an amnesty, pardon or other act of clemency.
Court records should include:
• Complete information regarding the circumstance surrounding the crime of which the applicant was convicted
• The disposition of the case, including sentence or other penalty or fine imposed.

I have never been convicted of a crime so will I still have to submit a paper from the court stating that I have no prison records ??

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCSC processing time update...no I-130 for spouses is listed?

Just noticed the latest processing times update, but unlike the previous updates there isn't a listing for I-130 for spouses.

Anyone know why?

Only one I-130 category is listed with a March 15, 2006 update.

https://egov.uscis.g...eviceCenter=CSC

it means they are done with all I-130 for spouses.I mean they finished the progress for all of them ;) .you will get a letter from them telling you if your case was approved within 2 to 4 weeks.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow long NVC takes to send DS-3032

My I-130 petition was approved on May 1st, 2007 and NVC case created on May 22, 2007. It's been 23 days now. DS-3032 and AOS fee bill have not been generated by NVC. When I called, the rep said it takes 6 to 8 weeks. Does NVC take so long? Reading other's timelines on this forum indicates otherwise.

Any advice/information would be greatly appreciated.

well,it depends on where you live.because the post in some places so slow.but it takes 2 to 4 weeks.

Dear Sir:

If your wife has already submitted an affidavit of support along with her tax return to NVC, you do not need to provide a copy of them.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUrgent question ! DS-230

They send it to you on Packet 3. We were advised to wait until we got the form from them, so we did. But you don't have to. You can download the form online and have your spouse fill it out. If you are your spouse's agent, have it ready so you can send it back with the copy of the passport as soon as you get it. If he will get the package himself, then have it ready anyway. It will make things much easier.

I'm the applicant.I'm waiting for the DS-230 but I'm just wondering if they send the form DS-230 with the barcodes in it,or I can get one online and fill it so I can have it ready to send.because if it has the barcodes in it I will have to send the original that I'll get from them.

Tarik,

I agree with Alix 100%. It is better that you get the DS 230 ready. You can download them, fill them out, and print them. NVC instruction always says not to use downloaded forms, but they do accept it. They discourage people to use the downloaded form, because some may download outdated version from websites which don't update the forms right away. The Ds 230 forms do nto have any barcode on it. The barcode is a separate page itself.

thank you guys .
