After a restless night, Tim called me around 4am local time to say that he'd been APPROVED. My stomach is still in residual knots. A heartfelt thanks to all my VJ friends for their support throughout this process! Oh Oh Oh that is sooooo wonderful. Big huge congrats to you two!!! That is such great news. Well, I just called DOS, and they had originally told me that our file was sent out on the 27th, but I must have misunderstood, because today they told me it was sent out on the 3rd. So, I guess a bit more waiting. I have already received my notice from the NVC, maybe thats what they were referring to when they said sent out????? United Kingdom	United Kingdom Interview Thread 2007	Silly question, but what number is everyone using to call and find out if our file has reached the London embassy? I tried the embassy number and it wouldn't let me through because I am in the US. The only other number I could find said it was a $16 charge. I looked on the DOS site, and still not sure. 1-202-663-1225, press 1 and 0 to talk to a person. It's the visa information office in Washington DC - open between 8:30 and 5pm Eastern. You need your LND number and beneficiary name, and they are generally a friendly, helpful lot. They can see what's on the computer - they can't necessarily tell you WHY something is happening or WHEN something will happen. But they can tell you the status, same as the toll line in the UK. The only difference is that, should you want to email the embassy and need the "code," the UKC needs to call the toll line and ante up. Thanks Daisy, will give it a shot. Be back shortly. Trying to check and see if it's safe to send out P3 on Monday. Was sent from NVC on Wed morning. Tiffany said it is electronically transferred, so we should be fine to send out. Thank the stars, we are London bound!!! I have to say, just knowing now that we are for sure out of CSC gives me assurance that our case will be handled more efficiently and in a timely manner!!!! I have nothing nice to say about CSC. I'm not quite sure which forum I'm supposed to cruise over to though??!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January Filers	btw got touched today, but the status has not changed yet. Could that be our case being sent to the NVC I hope so. And I hope you are right about the sending of our case to the NVC. I called them again this morning, still no receipt of it. Is it pretty sad that I have their number memorized, as well as the prompts, our case number also???? I'm thinking yes, this is pretty pathetic!!! Thus far, the squeeky wheel is not getting the grease!!!! Our case status has changed to approval, and touched again today. Hey btw, do you know where Reingau is? I finally found a part of my family, have been trying to locate them for years. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January Filers	Any interviews scheduled within the next few weeks? I need help!!! Our interview is in about 15 days or so. However now i'm in panic mode, anxiety. We have everything we need....but i'm still nervous. How do you guys cope with this?? I dont want to drink my nerves down....but wont rule that out Quaaludes used to work wonders, but I don't think you can get those anymore. Relax!!!! They don't expect you to know everything. Just rehearse a little and you'll be fine.... Haaaaaah!!!! If I could get my grubby little paws on those, at this point, I wouldn't be so sure I wouldn't partake!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January Filers	Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well. I haven't posted for a while. I have to say, I'm starting to feel in a bit of a slump again. We got approved on the 5th, but NVC still hasn't received our case. The whole day by day wait, check, wait is once again wearing me out. I thought it was supposed to get easier once you are approved, and things would move faster??? UGHHHH. Isn't the government wonderful. Well for us it two weks for the NVC to recognize they had received our case. They wait at the service center until there is is a full load to ship and I have heard it then goes space available to the NVC. You should hear very soon, 2-3 weeks should not cause you to worry just become impatient. The NVC can drive you nuts but, use Jame's shortcuts, they will keep you involved and make the time go faster. In the meantine CELEBRATE your still moving forward!! Yes, I found out about the whole filling the bin thing before sending out petitions to the NVC yesterday when I called USCIS to find out if they had sent our petition out yet. I was hoping that after a long wait for our NOA2, that we would be one of the quicker ones to get to the NVC. Oh well, you are right, it should be any day now. Then we'll get busy planning our 7/20 wedding and preparing the AOS papers - we want to file those before the 7/30 fee increase. I'm as happy as never to be going to live with my Sweetie without counting months, weeks and days left before we have to part again. But I'm also sad to leave my family and friends here. It hurts me to see their sad faces full of tears... Well, I wish everybody luck with their interviews and see you all in the AOS section! Congratulations!!! Oh, it must feel so good to be over with the wait. I'm also sorry your feeling sad about leaving your family. I can't say I understand, because I won't be leaving mine. Barney is feeling the same way though. It must be very difficult. Hang in there, I bet you will feel better once your home and have the (physical) support of your SO. Just want to let you know that I am a little behind, today the CSC finally put the repsonse to the RFE in their system My SO sent it more than 2 weeks ago. arnt Hey there Arnt. I am so sorry it is taking so long. RFEs are a horrible wait. Mine sat there 20 days before being adjucated, towards the end I called every day...finally got in a bit of trouble, but then got my NOA2. My care meter was really going off that they were agitated with having to deal with me for two minutes a day, let me tell you!!! Anyhow, with your NOA1 date I can't imagine the frustration you must feel. All I can say is that I'm pullin for you, buddy!!! Your in Germany though right? If so, has your SO tried calling USCIS? Have you been updated at all? If so, what are the dates? Because I haven't received any emails, nor a change in status on the website, yet. Something to hope for??? Have you tried CSC yet? Because you should definitely be approved by now. If they give you no help, I would try the NVC and see if they have you. You are definitely past due for an approval. I went for almost three weeks before an answer. I called every day though, and finally got approved. We were approved on the 5th. But still no update on USCIS or an email. So, my advise is to pester them until you get an answer. PS, I sent my RFE on the 16th. They noted as receiving it on the 30th, even though my return receipt said they got it on the 17th. I had to call Marlon and he is super stoked too!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH (thats a scream, not a relief sigh) Thats awesome, you got your birthday wish!!!! Oh I am so happy for you!!!!!!! Now, get out of that service center and on to some competent people...(I say that but did I even spell competent or is it competant or compatent... oh shite...right)??? I'm thinking out loud, can you tell? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January Filers	Yours should be VERY close! Have you called and did the "RFE trick"? Reading back through the past ten pages or so, I'm guessing that the "RFE trick" is to call and act like you got an RFE and try to figure out what the status is? I haven't contacted anyone at all yet; going by the dates on the website like I was, I thought it was going to be another three months before my application was processed. Then I come back here and find people with Feb. and Mar. NOA1s getting NOA2s, and us poor January people left behind So no, I haven't done an RFE trick, but if you could elaborate on what it is / how to do it, I would be quite indebted to you When you call customer service, follow the prompts for request for more evidence. You dont want to get customer service at their call center because they can't tell you anything. I just said I had been touched 2 times and not heard anything for 2 weeks and was concerned about an RFE. The guy told me I'd been approved. Here are the prompts I follow from start to finish on the automated system. I wrote them down this morning. This is how I get an officer at CSC: 1,2,2,4,2,1(of which you type in your receipt #, 1,1. I'm sure I wrote it down right, that should get you to an officer. Of course once you get there, there is no guarantees you won't get the same customer service answer!!! I called again today and guy #2 proceeded to tell me that there is no record of them having received my RFE and he said the first lady I spoke with on Monday was wrong! OMG! I wish these people would pull their heads out of their arses and get on the same page! Sorry, I am just plain tired of everything and if I didn't love Marlon so much I would give up! Dear God please help ALL of us! I will call my congressmen again to see if they were told anything different yesterday... I'm sorry your feeling so distressed. I understand the difficulty of this process and the unnerving USCIS. This whole RFE thing has thrown me into a complete tizzy, with the thought that it might now get stuck in the black hole of petitions sitting somewhere, like we have seen happen. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January Filers	Every embassy is different. I'm not sure how the UK embassy runs things. I will be faxing and snail mailing immediately. I will not wait until I receive packet 3 from the embassy, when I can just get it from the website right now. If we get packet 3 in by May 15th (Bogota's cutoff date) we are assured a June interview. I wonder if other embassys work with this same cutoff date??? I've never heard of a cutoff date? Did you find that on the embassy website? If so, where at? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January Filers	Jen/Barney, I was told by everyone in the Colombian club thread that it is OK to send them the packet 3 as soon as they receive the approval from NVC. I do not have to wait for the embassy to send me packet 3. Packet 3 is available online at the Colombian embassy website. This is great because it speeds up the process by weeks. Because once packet 3 is faxed/mailed to the embassy. They will reply with packet 4 & the interview date which is about a month or so later. Check the U.K. embassy page for their packet 3. It's good to get a jumpstart on this. Thanks Lucho!!! If you check some threads in the UK forum: general wisdom/advice there is not to send the packet 3 forms until you are SURE they have entered your file into the system - which means waiting for it to get from NVC to the London Embassy. You can, of course, start collecting the documents requried and checking out the forms that will need to be filled out, so you can send them back as soon as you're in the system. There was concern that getting your materials there before you were entered would land them in the bin. Check the UK forum for more. (The checklist is on the London Embassy site and scans of actual packet 3 documents are available in the "gallery" section here on VJ) Thanks Daisy. I think you only have one USCIS number throughout the process. That should be the WACxxxxx one. Not sure though, not there yet. I have not received the hard copy yet. The touch on saturday could be that CSC mailed my approval to NVC??? Also what is needed to get my case # from NVC? Do I have to wait to receive hard copy of the NOA2 to give NVC my approval number? I have packet 3 ready to go, just waiting for NVC to send off my approval to the embassy in Colombia. Thanks! Lucho, If you don't already have the number for NVC: 603-334-0700. I don't see any harm in trying before you get your hardcopy, however I doubt if they have your case yet. You have bigger numbers so I like your data better! LOL, I make occaissional errirs, so I cheked me numbers. I think they are krect. Any explanation for the 5 day February NOA1-NOA2 result of member "rebex05" from the U.S. and Cuba/Armenia? George I would only believe that one when I saw the NVC receipt date, or confirmation from the member. Otherwise I can't come up with a justifiable reason why it would be approved so quickly on a K visa. I'm thinking maybe a bit of confusion. But thats just me. Judging by the weekly stats, it looks like CSC really kicks out those approvals towards the end of the month...at least for the last couple the numbers are high towards the end. I really hope for all of you that are up for an approval soon that it comes next week. On another note, I just found out today that I am headed for England to see my sweetheart. I am so excited I am just peeing myself. It will be a quick trip, but most importantly I get to see him. I have missed him so much. 11 days and counting...yippeeeeee!!!!!! I'm assuming the beneficiary, but please confirm. Beneficiary needs both. And they need a police cert for each country they have lived in for 6 months or more. You might want to get on that right away because it takes a while for those (police certs) to come in, in some countries Karoline How long is the police certificates valid for? I have heard two conflicting timeframes...3 months and 1 year. This may be consular specific (but I doubt it). I asked my consulate specifically this question. The response I received was that for there purposes, a PC from ANY country is valid for 1 year. Ok, gotcha. I will check with the London consulate, just to make sure. So many da#$ ducks to get in a row!!! Each day, after more time than I care to admit to obsessing over this petition, I find out a bit more info. Thanks for your reply. BTW, I just called USCIS trying to speak with someone in regards to if we get a RFE. I think we will. So, I told the guy I was concerned, told him what we sent in for evidence (pics but they don't have dates, and passport pages, which is all the atty told us to send in). I told him I wanted to be prepared for RFE if we got one. Then I said that although we have many pics in UK and US, none have dates on them. I said we went to a professional photographer and they could print pics up with the date on them as evidence. I said we also have copies of airline itineraries with both of our names on them but not the actual boarding passes. After going through all of this, he said he does not have the answer and that I would have to make an info pass. Unfortunately, the nearest local office is two and a half hours away. I fear that if I make the appt, I will get the same lack of answers that I just got...wait and follow the instructions on the RFE. DRRRRR. See link below http://fwaguy.250fre...m/February2.htm I noticed that. How BIZARRE. If I remember correctly, they sent their petition out Jan 10. So they probably counted when they received via snail mail their NOA1, and not the actual notice date. So therefore, USCIS probably received their petition somewhere around the 16 of Jan.
