Hi Everyone,

I have a quick question, we got our NOA 1 on Febuary 1st. I was just wondering what we need from the bank for my Interview in Germany so my fiance can get all the papers together. I know it will be still a while till we need all that but I just want to make sure we get everything together. I heard we need a bank letter but what kind of bank letter? Anything else?

And the other thing is, my fiancee never really put his checks from work on his account, he cashes them and afterwards he puts some money on the account, will that be a problem? He is over the poverty guide line, and saved up money as well.

Hope someone can answer my question.

My Fiance Rusty and me got one to the other week and they want more proof that we have met in the 2 year period...that is so stupid, because we send them all kinds of stuff already...oh well I just send Rusty 10 more pics and some more evidence I could find...Is there anything we have to know about the RFE??

yes, you are exactly right. We didn;t keep all the receipts when we first met as well...so thats why we don;t have that much prove eather. I lived in the states for 2 years I was an Au Pair there and that's how I got to meet my fiancee. We only have one stamp in our passport when he came to visit me in germany and when I flew back to see him once...But my phonebill should be a really good proof because we talk everyday at least twice on the phone...My fiance doesn;t has a phonebill where the phonenumbers are shown who he calls but mine does, so I hope that will be good enough also for the interview one day...

Oh well hopefully everything will work out for all of us...

Thanks a lot for all your posts. I did send a copy of our passports with the stamps in it...so I guess that is a good thing. And I also send a entrance ticket to a park in germany and we took a picture there as well and we also send in a hotel receipt and had a picture in front of the hotel from both of us...so I hope they will approve as soon, otherwise I will get cazy if I don't hear anything soon...

We did actually send a lot of stuff out the first time. Pictures, emails, letters, plane tickets (when rusty came to visit me here in germany, and when I flew over to see him), phonebills...everything they asked for...

Thats why I don't really understand why we got an RFE...oh well...

We sent an other plane ticket when we went on vacation together...a hotel receipt when he visited me in germany some other entrence tickets when we went to places here in germany. More pictures, a letter from his mom and his aunt. Emails we sent each other, maybe some more things but I can't think of it right now...

I'm so nervous...My fiance and me got an RFE. They wanted more evidence that we really have met in the last 2 years...we did send everything out on the 14th of March and they sent us an email that they recived it on march 15th...since that day we are waiting. They haven't touched it anymore...is that a bad sign??

How long does it usually take until they approve it??

I have a question now about the police certificate, it says you need a police certificate from every county you have resided in for at least one year. I was an Au Pair in the US for 2 years, where do I have to get the police certificate from??

Hello everyody,

I got a letter from the consulate yesterday (Statement of exchange visitor alien) and actually it is no big deal. I was an Au Pair in the US for 2 years and I actually won't have the 2 year home residence rule because I wasn't sponsered through the goverment, but the embassy forgot to make a cross in the part not subject to the 2 year residence requirement, will this be a problem?

Should I send a letter with the form and telling them that they mistakely never checked that box??

Does anybody has experiences with it?

both my ticket and my fiances ticket where purchased via internet...and what do you mean with the itinerary? I flew from frankfurt, germany to New York and then to Baltimore....my fiance flew from Baltimore to Island and then to Frankfurt, Germany

Do you think that was a problem because it was purchased via internet??

it is so good to read that someone besides my fiance and me got the same RFE like us...I don't really know what they want from us, because we sent in already a lot of evidence...so we will also send some more pictures. We got a letter written from my fiance's mom and aunt and a hotel receipt (it only has my name on it but anyway) and boarding passes when he came to visit me and when I flew over there... it really drives me crazy because we don;t really know what they want from us...we didn't send in letters last time because I lived in the U.S for two years (I was an Au Pair there) so we never wrote letters to each other...so I guess that is all we will send in...Isn't it frustrating???

I did not know Dawn personally but had read many of her posts and always noticed how sweet and nice she was....and how she always tried to stay in contact and up to date with what everyone was doing....so caring of a person she was.

This is surely a huge, unimaginable loss and another reminder that every day is a blessing. And just thinking of the time Dawn and Hatem had to be apart due to immigration concerns in the recent past...that part really breaks my heart too.....so sad. On the bright side, if we try to think of one in this tragedy, she did find love, marriage and happiness recently...and that was a blessing.

My thoughts are with you, Dawn...as you now know what the "other side" of the light encompasses....I pray that the beauty is unfolding before you and you are truly peaceful.

Look at our pics here...see our dates..see a normal life...until the green card came...then he was gone. And it was right about that same time I found out he was cheating on me for an entire year...having a sexual affair with a pregnant 20 year old. Sickening. He even brought her into our home and had sex with her on my couch. She described my home to me. I was visiting my mother at the eastern shore only overnight when he pulled this stunt. Other than that I was a stay at home wife, visiting his cell phone store from time to time with no apparent issues. Well...hahaha..the joke was on me. Don't be stupid and think you are smart like I did. Really think hard. This guy came from a perfectly wonderful family... I met all of them and stayed in Jordan twice for over a month each time getting to know them and everything seemed perfect. He was performing an act even in front of his family. Because they did not realize his intentions of leaving eventually. Neither did I..this was a fairytale romance...I was his queen, etc. , etc...you know the whole routine...you know who you are. RETHINK YOUR DECISION!!!!

If I had this to do all over again I would realize that once he got here I don't ever remember being his "queen" again. I know that in some cases the love is real...and that is beautiful, wonderful, congratulations.

But think about it because all signs pointed to its real and it was not real. He told me he never wanted to come to america at all. I never put two and two together until after the fact...then why did he have a 4 year degree in English Literature????? HELLO...EARTH TO DEBBIE...and now EARTH TO WHOEVER IS READING THIS POST!!!!

BE CAREFUL. Love is a powerful thing and it can take you and you can be cheated and heartbroken. I saw similar posts on visajourney myself but only after I got married but I still thought my marriage was good...cause the green card coming was the thing that gave him the green light to it the road and thats just what he did. He would have been gone anyway after what I discovered about him. Deceiving...innocent acting cheater.

I know not all out there are like this...this note is not to put a damper on anyone's perfect union...but all I am saying is to rethink everything and be careful for yourself. It's your life...immigration is a long and painful process to go through with and for someone. In this case I even did all the paperwork and processed the whole thing myself without an attorney...I mean...I really got screwed. DON'T GET SCREWED!! Date...why marry? Live together.....for a long time first.

We flew through the NVC even with a RFE...through all the online bill pay, etc. etc....and case was completed on June 26...but still no interview date in Amman yet.....

It was all hurry up and wait. Now almost 2 months since we were done at NVC and no interview date in site yet.......

My advice is to relax...once you are finished and case is complete at NVC you may have to pull more patience out of the bag than you have needed through the entire process so far.....

My mood...at this point...extremely frustrated!!! My husband and I wanted to get married again on the same date one year later, October 29...but the way its going now...he will not be here on October 29.

I have been looking all morning for someone who has recently went through the NVC. We got our approval last week and are waiting to hear from NVC now. I called to check this morning to see if they have our case, and nothing. Does anyone know how often they update the recordings? I am waiting for the exact thing that you just received....and it is killing me and my husband!! Our case was completed on June 26th and we still don't have an interview date. I understand they schedule them the 2nd week of the month....but its Thursday and we have not gotten our date yet.... crying.gif

I know its coming...we just want to know when this is finally going to end. And if it will be a while we will start planning a trip for me to go over and see him for a short visit because we are going on 5+ months since we seen each other and we are going insane!

My husband and I were on webcam earlier today and decided to call the NVC together one last time for one last shot at a hope for an October interview. And for once....after all the times I called the NVC since June 26 when our case was complete...FOR ONCE...the answer was YES. Thank God!! It was really nice because he got to hear the NVC operator tell us at the same time what his interview date was.

Now its time to get ready..he's gotta get his medical appointment done now as well as all of the paperwork prepared to take in with him. Does anyone have any pointers on what the latest preference of the embassy is for organizing the copies you bring in?

I cannot believe this wait is almost over. With any luck my sweetie will arrive on or around our wedding anniversary...Oct 29 but that might be pushing it with an Oct 15 interview date.

Its not over til its over....but I do want to thank everyone...even if you did not directly talk to me ever on here you may have helped me somehow with a post of a question or answer to a post. This site has been priceless to me...almost like a little guardian angel helping me along with real information that is easy to understand and reliable. I know there have been some "riffs" here and there between some but Visa Journey does serve its purpose to inform and does a great job at it!

I used it and it worked great....as long as you make plenty of money and you have transcripts or returns to show for the last few years its fine to use.

If you look at both side by side there isn't a gigantic difference between the regular I864 and the EZ.

Hi and Welcome to VJ!

It sounds like the document you have that has the english translations on it would be fine. As long as it has your name and his name and info and the court or official location, date, etc. where you married and an official seal of some sort it should be fine. Our marriage certificate was in arabic from the Sharia Court in Amman so we had to have ours translated. If the pertinent vital info on your document is not in english you will need to get it translated.

I did not submit any bona fides with my I-130. I don't know if most do or don't. But my petition was received and processed just fine and we are about to complete the process with an interview scheduled on Oct 15. What I did was send a photo of us at our wedding party - just 1 and wrote a paragraph about how we met and fell in love and eventually married. I think thats all you need to do. With a fiance visa more burden of proof may be needed but in your case you are already married.

The paper size doesn't matter when you are submitting. These agencies deal with worldwide documentation so they have seen it all. The paper doesn't have to be US 8.5 x 11 size. Most countries use the larger A4 paper and that will work fine.

Good luck to you....follow all of the instructions carefully and you will be fine. Be prepared to wait though, it is a very long process.

I think I will submit the multi-lingual form the City gave us (and re-submit in case of any problems), but I wanted to hear what everyone else would say (I can link to a scan of the multi-lingual form if it helps).

My other questions are: Should I submit third-party affidavits of bona fides as photocopies or as originals?

Also, does differing paper size (A4 vs. US sized paper) matter at all?

What is the fee you paid? I was not aware of any fees that had to be paid before the interview....our interview packet didn't say anything about it...I know for non-immigrant visas you must pay at the bank and bring the receipt to the interview but I thought for CR1 you don't have to pay that fee.....

Does anyone know if my husband needs to pay any fees prior to his interview? His interview is Oct 15. I know there is some kind of fee for the aramex service to process the visa but I looked all through his papers and online at the dept of state and don't see anything about it.
