Entonces, no le cambianran el apellido automaticamente cuando reciba su pasaporte o su recidencia? osea cuando puede ella comensar a usar mi apellido en el processo de Visa?



Durante el proceso de visa el nombre que utilizarán siempre, será el que aparezca en su acta de nacimiento, la cédula, el pasaporte, etc. Ya después, ella podrá solicitar el cambio.

Mucha suerte en su caso. Yo recibí mi NOA 2 para K1 ayer!! Aunque fue aprobado el lunes 4 de Marzo :)

No estoy muy segura, porque lo que he visto de información dice que para el cambio de apellido ella debe llenar una solicitud y adjuntar el acta de matrimonio para que sea efectivo. Por ejemplo, ahora su residencia y su social Security saldrán bajo su actual nombre. Una vez ella los obtenga puede ir con su copia de acta de matrimonio a cambiar su nombre que aparece en el social Security. Después que su social Security tenga el nombre de casada que ella decida utilizar, deberá ir solicitando el cambio ante las demás entidades. Si ya tiene licencia de conducir, puede enviar copias de social Security nuevo y evidencia del cambio de nombre y recibir una licencia nueva; así sucesivamente con los bancos y todo lo demás, hasta que su nombre de casada aparezca en toda su documentación.

No, eso no te traíra problemas por el momento. Ahora bien, una vez ella decida en los Estados Unidos cambiar su nombre y solicite su Social Security, ella tendrá que empezar a usar el nombre que aparezca en el Social Security.

Su nombre sigue igual mientras el cambio no se haga legalmente.

I have a question in my mind a few days ago; all K1 applicants know that we need to attach the medical information and results when adjusting status, so my question is: how do I find or request the opportunity to make a copy of this information?

I'd like at least one Dominican who already went through the process to tell how does it worked for him/her.
Anyways any answer is very welcome :)

oh yes, you are right. For your type of visa the NVC is the one who schedule interviews. In that case I have no idea, what I said is with the K1.

The same with us!, March 18 the NVC sent the letter, arrived in the mail the 23rd and the 1st of April we found out our interview date is for April 22! (The picked the packet 4 from the postal office April 5th). Everything was really quick!

I went to pay the $175 fees last week and the same was about to happen to me, but what I did was to exchange my dollars in other place rather than the bank. The bank always buys dollars in a cheaper price and sell them more expensive, that was what happened in his case.
If I'd let them exchange my dollars at the bank I would pay the same as he did ;)

I paid $350 USD ($180 usd for the medical exam, x-ray and blood test). ($170 usd for the vaccines). $350 usd was the total ;)

I went to have the medical examination, blood test and got the vaccinations last Thursday 11( April.) in the Dominican Republic. They said they will send the results directly to the consulate,
Is this accurate?, will they send the results on time for the interview which is going to be next April 22nd?.

I would like to hear about similar situations please.

I don't know if the two police certificates you mentioned are the same, but I've got one before to apply for a job and they just needed a copy from both sides of my cedula. and about the birth certificates you are the one right, it is a legalized inextensa... Make sure he understands that, it doesnt matter where he find it lol, you need a inextensa legalizada.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)when should you call nvc after your noa2 has been approved to receive your NVC CASE NUMBER?
I received my NOA 2 on March 8th. (Hard copy)
On March 23rd we received the letter from the NVC with a case number and letting us know soon I might received a visa packet in order to start the medical exams and with the interview date.

I checked in the embassy webpage with the SDO case number the NVC gave us in the last letter we received. Then of course I received the packet 4 by mail in DR.
I'm the beneficiary, I went several times to the post office to ask if I had any letter from the embassy.
If you received a hard copy of the letter from NVC, check your case number and keep checking in the embassy's webpage.

We got approved april 5. And the nvc received it april 18. So it is like your case . We might get it for next month. If everything goes well.

for what I heard, the visa specialist could help you, they might know where your case is right away.
I also received approval from the USCIS on March 4th, by March 8th I had my hardcopy of the NOA 2.
Then on March 23rd, I received a letter from the NVC with a case number and some information.

Seems like you need to contact them and request information.

Great idea!, we already have emails, gift invoices, phone call records, hundred something pictures, engagement ring invoice, money transfer, cards (christmas, birthday, valentines), flight itineraries, 3 past tax retun, pay stubs, letter of employment, affidavits (I-134 & I-864), bank account info, birth certificates, all the immigration forms (DS-156, DS-156k, DS-230 part 1). Copy of I-129f original packet, letters of intent (new and old).... NOA 1, NOA 2 and NVC letter original and copies.

Something else we might consider?! Please let us know

Wow that's great. I'm also waiting and my fiancé interview was on April 19 and at first when i checked the status it said that it was issued but the the consulate was processing it. And now it says its final and that I should receive it within 10 business days


Mine also say I should receive it within 10 working days!! (But here at Domex they say it might take 6 weeks) :(

hi there, for what I've heard it depends on the location.

For example I'm from the Dominican Rep, and my fiance had to come necessarily, if not it would be like visa suicide for me if I decided to go alone, in the other hand there are countries that doesn't need the presence of the petitioner at all. My suggestion, check the webpage of the American Embassy in Poland, read from the portal and get ready to go if you have to.

My fiancé called yesterday to find out some information (he was told to call in two weeks in the past days), now they told him:
I'd tell you we are behind processing K1; it'll be 6 months on March 5th since your NOA 1, but it might be another two months before you hear something about your petition :(

We planned to be together after May, get married and start our life together. Since I'm in Dominican Republic, we know even if we receive our NOA 2 in March as we were hoping, we wouldn't probably be together before June.
He is desperate and I'm depressed, the waiting and uncertainty is overwhelming. So, we just decided to keep our plan and withdraw or cancel the K1 petition and he is moving here instead.

Maybe in the future, when we have to think in the future of our kids if we get any, then we may try to deal with immigration again.

In our personal case we did scan-email printed signatures and we spent the whole processing time if we were going to get a RFE. Thanks God we were approved without any problems, but for my anxious experience I recommend doing it the right way lol, I know it sounds crazy, I just remember my constant anxiety wondering what will happen...
