If your intent is to inform members, then you should do so. Posting under a flag of Sweden when your fiance is Iraqi is misleading and not giving details of all the issues you had serves no purpose. Nothing like what happened to you will happen to people marrying Swedish citizens and going through the US consulate in Sweden. The result (but maybe not purpose) of your post was to worry a lot of people unnecessarily. Please give all the details if you intend to inform.

Impossible. USC presence is not required at the interview and the consulate would have no way to know you are in the country or how to summon you. Please stop wasting our time.

what gives you the right to be rude...i would not make something like this up...it scared the ncrap out of me and yes there was every official there including 3 regional security officers (FBI),the consulate,the junior conselate,and 2 other men i forget there titles.seeing as i was scared shitless. id love to have been anywheres else but there i can assure you.They asked about my pervious marriages what my ex did for work .where we lived,how long married,about my trips to sweden why i stayed so long when it is so expensive to live there,my fiancees family ,there ages,what the do in sweden for work and school.how they got t sweden,how long they live in sweden,they ask if i ever doubted my fiancees feelings for me ,if he offer me money to marry him.what alen and i do in sweden together all these months.about my parents ,and my children,whether they finish school,if they go to college and where,how they feel about alen.if we speak to them often,how i could leave my home for so many months.how did i pay my bills while in sweden.who took care of my home and animals.and many more but to be honest i cant remember nit all i was so freaked out and i did feel i was being interrogated.so yes it did happen and it may be rare for sweden but it happened.they did inform me that they werent being that way because alen is from iraq but this is a first i have heard of in sweden.

Hey guys,

I just want to say thanks for all your help. I had my appointment yesterday and it went well and pretty fast too. I was only there for about two hours tops. I was told I have been approved but there is one minor problem.

Apparently I needed proof of my fiancee's father's citizenship, a copy of his passport or birth certificate (to go with the affidavit of support he did for me). I never saw this anywhere and looking over my things now I still can't see it. Have I missed this or is it not asked for anywhere? Anyway, the counsular officer just said I have to get them to fax it to them along with a cover note quoting my case number and name and as soon as they recieve it they will process my visa and get it sent to me. So not a big problem at all I'm just surprised as I completly missed that, as did my partner. Is this a common thing people miss or was I just stupid and overlooked it?

Is it possible that you will have a manila case number then the NVC said they didn't received your case yet? I am expecting that since its 2 weeks since we got are reaffirmed NOA2 our case is sent already in Manila,now why my fiance called NVC today and they say they still don't have our papers.When he did called last april 12 and give us our Manila case no. :crying: :( !!I just wanna hear if there is a situation like us..

Sometimes they can have your case but it hasnt been logged into their system yet.So if you call they say they haven't gotten it yet give it a few more days sometimes it takes two weeks.Good Luck..

OMG I got the email today and looked at my case status on USCIS to confirm and yep its there!! Sept. 15= K1 APPROVED!! Thank you GOD biggrin.gif goofy.gif energy.gif We are in shock & ecstatic. I told him to start getting his stuff organized to prepare for next steps (i.e. police certificate etc.). It looks like me being so meticulous with all the paperwork in the very beginning has paid off (WITH ALOT OF LUCK). I'm SOOOO HAPPY!! Glad to help. Anyway, a "Congressional Inquiry" or "congressional" is a formal inquiry by a member of Congress made on behalf of their constituent. Any federal agency that receives a Congressional inquiry has 48 hours to respond to the member of Congress. Each Service Center has a special office to handle "Congressionals". That’s their sole purpose in life is to keep the member of Congress informed upon request.

(i.e. Senator Numbnuts says "CIS - I understand from my constituent - Mr. Hotn'bothered that (according to him) you have been processing his application for his dear fiancé in a less than timely manner. Can you please look into this matter and let my office know when it will be approved.")

System usually says - "pull and work file immediately" 'Nuff said.


Thought id let yall read this someone posted whom use to work for uscis. Cant hurt to contact your congressman or state reps,they r supose to work for u....mine contacted them for me today and they got back to her the same day asking for more info why our case needs to be expidited.All im saying is im tryin to do the best i can to keep the man i love safe from harm .and also bring him home with me as fast as possible.

Thats crazy...Try not to worry to much.Did they say ap or ar?Praying for you girl.This is not an easy place (AP).But to tell you the truth it has been five months now for us in ap and i feel stupid about whining when i did get noa2 fast enough.This is hell because you have no timeline.They can hold our case forever if they want.It will be 1 year on july29th that we mail our k1 off.I miss Alen so much and hes so scared there.I feel helpless but i started praying and talking to god i gave it all to him to take care of because at this point i think hes the only one who can fix this .hope yours is a short one.ill be praying for you.

Nothing since arround the first week of april.Sucks..Alan is scared in baghdad and wants to leave and go to lebanon. But they want take transfered cases if they have already been interviewed.

I did like the guides here, before I was married. So my social security is on my maiden's name and I'll have to change it. I don't know why the guides instruct to do it that way though, other then to have my "history" recorded, as in they having my name on their records before the marriage, something like that. But as far as I understand, its useless to have it without the work authorization, so maybe I could have waited instead.

I hope some of you have made it to your loved ones.We are still in ap at the embassey.Sometimes i get tired of checking for emails.Feels like it is never going to happen for us.I am sad because Alen had to return to Iraq.Now he is going to start back to work for a securitys company whom contracts out to our army.Kind strange he can pass security checks to work for our military but not to come here .I miss him so much.I haven't seen him since Dec.15th.Almost for months.I think he is getting discouraged too.Because he told me today he thinks he might not be here by next easter.It is so sad that our immigration system is so broken.There has to be a better way.I pray for each and every one of you on here.Please continue to do the same for us.Bridget

hi all, im a august filier to and im praying everyone gets their wish. ive been checking our status so much my kids have tried to block the computer screen. Im even checking it in my dreams blush.gif but we will all have our approvals soon i know this, ok im praying for this.


i was crazy checkin mine every 2 hrs. til we got it on oct. second.i contacted every senator and congressmen i could find .wrote so many emails my fiance told me i had a problem.my eyes were getting so bad from the computer i had to start wearin reading glasses...lol...now the wait is worse cause i have nothing to check .....but i can call .....call ...call.....nvc and drive them crazy....lol.....good luck to you on your journey....

Glad to help. Anyway, a "Congressional Inquiry" or "congressional" is a formal inquiry by a member of Congress made on behalf of their constituent. Any federal agency that receives a Congressional inquiry has 48 hours to respond to the member of Congress. Each Service Center has a special office to handle "Congressionals". That’s their sole purpose in life is to keep the member of Congress informed upon request.

(i.e. Senator Numbnuts says "CIS - I understand from my constituent - Mr. Hotn'bothered that (according to him) you have been processing his application for his dear fiancé in a less than timely manner. Can you please look into this matter and let my office know when it will be approved.")

System usually says - "pull and work file immediately" 'Nuff said.


Thought id let yall read this someone posted whom use to work for uscis. Cant hurt to contact your congressman or state reps,they r supose to work for u....mine contacted them for me today and they got back to her the same day asking for more info why our case needs to be expidited.All im saying is im tryin to do the best i can to keep the man i love safe from harm .and also bring him home with me as fast as possible.

Has your documents been lost by USCIS?

State reps, congressman, senator, lawyer CANNOT speed up the immigration process. wacko.gif

well they asked for our info and reciept number and all my fiances info ,we had to sign a form to give them permission to get our info from uscis.my hubby is in sweden but is from Iraq.they are tryin to deport him so im doing everything i can to try to help speed his process along.and i did read somewhere that government officials can speed your paperwork along.
