Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-551 stamp
That is what i thought too, but wasn't sure! cool, thanks!

You wont have problems if you have your green card with you, the stamp in your passport is a temporary one until you get the actual card, then the stamp no longer matters.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-551 stamp
Hello hello, nice to see old names you guys! :D

i have a question. I don't have to file to remove conditions untill next may, but the stamp(I-551) that i got in my passport after my interview is expired now. i am not really sure if i have to do anything about it, since i have a green card and can travel, but i am going back home again for christmas and therefore i don't want to have any problems with immigration. do i have to do anything to extend it or was it just a "temporary evidence of lawful admission"?

thanks for help,
simona

oh ok... yeah, nebraska that is then. also, i had no idea it may take a year or so.

thanks for your help. i guess i better schedulle my biometrics. man, i forgot everything, since life was pretty good without worrying about any immigration processes.

thanks.

yeah, i know i have to send it 90 days before it expires, i just want to get all the forms ready now, so i can just mail them when i have to.

also, i am not sure about the service center. i thought you are supposed to send it to a district office, not a service center. and even if that, wouldn't i have to send it to nebraska center, since IL belongs to that center?

ok, so i have a month to sent my petition to remove the conditions. i am a little confused as far as the biometrics go. Do i need to go get them again? or am i mistaken? are they going to use the same photo?

also, we are moving to a new condo, do i need to send a form about the change of address as well? together with petition or just list that on a separate page?

and the last: where do i send this all?!

thanks for your help!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionwhere to send I-751 form
So i think i have it all ready, except for the address of the service center i have to send it to. I am in IL, so i know i have to send it to Nebraska service center, but i checked some info online and it seems like there are few different addresses for different forms.
EDITED: the address on the form is the address i have to send the package right? ;)

Also, should i go to bank and get the money orders? do i make payment for $205 and then $70 for biometrics? should they be addressed to USCIS?

help

Hey guys,

i don't know if i should be concerned or not, but i send I751 form to nebraska almost 2 weeks ago, however i haven't heard anything yet!
how long does it usually take to get the notice of action? i am freaking out. i send the money order, so it's not like i can check if it was cashed.
what should i do? should i call NSC?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWhen can I apply for I-751
OMG! You're right!
i guess i should consider myself lucky i already sent my I751 form. i feel for all these people that are sending it after july 30th. it's outrageous!

did the service improve though? is it any faster? i don't think so? where does all that money go? who's pocket? they are already making so much money out of immigration. seems like they are taking advantage of everyone who fall in love with a person from other country!

it's just not right.

What happens if you apply sooner than 90 days prior to the EXP date? Reject? I can't believe they jacked up the fee for I-751 to $500+

500+? where did you get that price? it is $205 for a form and $70 for biometrics.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionGot the notice on I-751

It should be clear whose names is written next to the "Petition". However, if it's not, it should be the non-USC spouse because this is the person that is having his/her conditional residence extended/removed, not the USCs.

Thank you, it is very clear! it says my name, but i guess i was used to fact that i am a beneficiary and my husband is a petitioner. Thanks for clearing that out for me.

i can't believe it takes about 8-9 months. nebraska!!! :) oh well, i guess i am not really in a rush or anything. i can work and tgravel abroad - that's all i care about.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionGot the notice on I-751
So i have got the notice of action on our removal of conditions form. that's awesome. i wa sfreaking out all last week, cause i thought it is taking too long, but from other timelines i realized it is suppose to take so long. and here you go, when i did not expect to get it at all - i got it!

it says my conditional status is extended for another year. it doesn't say how long it will aproximatelly take to procede the form though. i guess i should relax and wait.

also, one more thing, just to clear things up: on the right upper side of the notice it says CASE TYPE:blah blah blah and then PETITIONER: blah blah. is this suppose to be the US citizen's name or the citizens wife/husband, the one that needs to remove the conditions?

thanks!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAm I just paranoid?
i really don't care much about this argument, but i have to say one thing.
Ever since i got my permanent resident card 2 years ago, never ever have i had that with me while in states. only when we go to visit my husbands parents who live in douglas, arizona. they live one mile away from a border, that's why. otherwise it's safe in my house.

i have my state ID - that is all you need. i have never heard of anyone having to prove their status in states, unless they are in deep ######!
that's all i wanted to say! :)

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionwhat would you do?

If you send it off the day before you depart for the UK, you should be in good shape. If you can have someone check your mail for you while you're away, that would be good. I doubt, though, that the biometrics appt. will be scheduled sooner than 4 weeks from when you mail it in.

i don't know where he is sending his, but my biometrics where schedulled a week or so after i got my NOA1, so he should definitelly have someone check his mail constantly and let him know if his is schedulled while he's abroad. also, he should get all documents ready now, in case he needs to reschedulle the appointment.
just my opionion. i filed at nebraska and was very surprised when got a notice about biometrics so soon. i was glad i did not have anything planed for that following week.

That's because you get to wait together rather than apart. Life goes on while this one works it's way through the bureaucracy.

you're so right about it. seems like it doesn't really matter wether it takes a month or a year, as long as we are together with our loved ones.
i must say though, it is kind of exciting to wait for something like an approval! ;)

Hi Simona,

Here we are again - waiting. But I agree now it's not such a big deal. I'm with my husband and sons.
I sent my papers month after yours. Just like two years ago - we are back together at Nebraska, ha ha

Good luck,

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionDistrict manager USCIS experience
it's funny, as much as we all b..###(including me) about everyone who's getting approved before time, we all would love to be in that lucky spot. i wouldn't mind. i would love to get approved after just couple of months. it's not that i don't care about others, but it's my life, it's my journey and as much as don't think it would be fair for all the others, i would take that approval and could care less what everyone else think.

we should all be happy for each other, no matter what. really, if aussies experience annoys anyone, they should suck it up and hope they are the next to get approved!

peace!

why did you decide to change your name right now? is there any reason for that?

If i was the one reviewing the application, i would be a little suspicious. Not that it really means that you went to marriage not in a good faith, it just raises a question why are you changing your name at this moment.

It really isn't fair that we have to pay these fees, for no service or greencard, only to have to turn around in a few months and do it all again when we do the citizenship. I know i just filed 4 months ago, so i do not really expect anything yet. However, when i read visajourney topics, i don't ever see anyone getting approved from NSC. even if it happens, happens like once a month. what's going on? are they transferring cases to other service centers, cause there's always bunch of people getting approved with TSC or CSC.
it would really be nice to see more people getting approved, so we could get a little more positive smile.gif

Her husbands arrival date has nothing to do with the date you have to file to remove conditions. She has t o have the package ready 90 before the 2 year GC expires. they should send that any time in 90 day period. but not any earlier than that. Usually people send that withing the first 30 days.
