Mabuhay!! I was interviewed yesterday.

My appointment: 6.30AM

So i woke up 3am, we stayed in a nearby hotel, then left at 4am then had breakfast at chowking whistling.gif
then arrived at US embassy at 4.30am, few people only, at 5.30am, guard shouting "for 6.30am interview fall in line"

so i was given a number 6002, i thought i was number 2, but numbers starting with 5, were served first though i was first to arrive than them, these are senior citizen, with kids, handicapped, its okay eventhough they are first than me, im a loving citizen and loves mankind.

1. check baggage, i suggest dont bring bag or phone, just your docs, its faster
2. walk straight turn left then turn right
3. you will see 2 counters giving you, your number, keep it (that's the 6002 my number)
4. waited for 30 mins, then you will be called by pre screener, asked for photos and evidences, pre screener talks filipino
5. waited for 30 mins, finger scanning
6. waited for 40 mins, consul interview

this was it:
consul: everybody seems to be excited to be here
lyn: yes sir (me smiling as i entered the cubicle)
consul: what are you feeling right now?
lyn: im excited and nervous, my stomach upside down
consul: owww
consul: your full name pls, date of birth
lyn: christallyne......aug.....
consul: looking at his computer, something different with your finger scan, do you have allergies?
lyn: no sir, they are wet no0pb.gif
consul: huh, okay
consul: what is your date of marriage?
lyn: feb......
consul: so tell me your love story
lyn: blah blah...
consul: im looking for your affidavit of support, give me a sec
lyn; (sitting quietly)
consul: so what does your husband do for a living?
lyn: he works for the US airforce sir as aircraft technician
consul: do you know his rank?
lyn: no sir, but he recently got promoted, its just his 2nd year! kicking.gif
consul: thats great, oh i got your affidavit of support
consul : (browsing photos....) are you wearing your wedding ring?
lyn: yes sir, im very proud! kicking.gif
consul:hah! very proud.... yes.gif
consul: okay congratulations your visa has been approved
lyn: thank you sir! this is the best christmas gift of all time! laughing.gif
lyn: sir, just one more thing..can i pick up my visa....? pls
consul: oh you like to pick up your visa? but it'll take 1 or 2 days, so just wait at home, we use a very reliable courier.
lyn: okay sir, have a great day today no0pb.gif


then waited for another 20 mins, go to counter 37 fill out form of air 21, fill it out very fast okay,
then go to air21 counter, pay, prepare exact amount, have your money in denominations, i paid 215, i gave 220, but didnt give my change, its okay, thats there tip.

okay, so now i can say, to all future interviewees, dont be nervous..what counts is the affidavit of support and how genuine your relationship is, BRING PHOTOS AND PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP.

i arrive in manila at 6 am and proceed to st lukes i advice you to
go early in st lukes so end of the day you well finish you are not coming back next

Hello Everyone!

I just wanna share the good news....This morning I checked with air21 website to track my visa and it says shipment already left cargohaus and after 2hours I finally got it..... :dance: :dance: :dance: It was a good timing too because my fiance and I were chatting at that time it arrived.We were so happy that after almost 2years of the visa journey it was all worth it.....A new journey of life together begins.....A good new year to start with....

Vicky just completed her medical, when she was there some of the other ladies there were telling her they had to attend a "guidance and counseling seminar" from the Dept. of Foreign Affairs.

We're doing a K1/ fiance visa. Is this a requirement for us?

Vicky's asking if she should do it, apparently it's in Quezon City.

It's the first I've heard of it, so I'm assuming it's for I-130 or CR1 filers??

Anyone know?

Still can't believe she's here. We went to the CFO together in Cebu (of course I slept on a bench outside for most of the day. I thought it would be a couple hours, ended up being the entire day).

We received the visa while I was there, and used Chicago as our port of entry before flying to Detroit. We're now here in Indiana, and I am so happy she is here.

Thanks to VJ for all your advice and information. She went through immigration pretty quick despite the fact that she accidentally opened the plastic envelope holding her packet of info. She didn't open the brown envelope, but it clearly says not to open either one. They didn't even care about it. The immigration officer seemed perturbed that we were getting married after knowing eachother 10 months. he didn't seem to think it was enough time, but he stamped her passport and sent us on our way.

Just a word of advice, send your fiance through the visitor's line and you go on to the citizen's line. You'll get yelled at (like I was) if you bring her through the citizen's line.

So what is this now I am stuc at the embassy for PROCESSING!!!!!! ####### are they going to screw us all they way through this!!!.....they told me to call in 2 weeks!!!! has anyone been through this ????? What is going on !!!!! please someone calm me down!!!!! I am so pissed that we all try to do this the right way !!!! Give them all the money that they want!!!! Hi All

Vicky had her successful interview last Thursday 1-14, she left the embassy by 10 a.m. with a pink slip in hand and told she's approved. She wasn't told there were any additional documents or anything else needed. She signed up for the Air21 delivery and paid the delivery fee, and got a tracking number.

It's now Tuesday evening there, 7:30 p.m. The embassy is closed. The tracking number is still not active, in other words it still hasn't yet left the embassy.

Th. Fri. Mon. Tu., It's already been 4 business days and the visa still isn't printed? It's 6 calendar days...

I called the pay-per-call phone number last night (10:30 a.m. local time Tuesday) and $18 later was not told anything. I was just trying to find out if there's an additional form we needed or a problem with our case. They said all inquiries have to be done by email or fax, and it's still processing. The first lady said it's still with the CO, the second lady or supervisor said it's in final processing and being coordinated between the immigrant visa unit and the non-immigrant visa unit. She told me they cannot see basically anything from their office regarding what the status is, just that it's pending. I said isn't it unusual it isn't shipped yet since it says 7-10 days on the embassy's website? She said that's the time for delivery after the embassy released it and there's no promises about how long it will take them to process it.


I know I'm impatient, yes. I want my honey here with me and I've seen most timelines the visa is received in just a couple of business days or 3-4. Tomorrow it's 5 and it isn't even shipped yet.

Vicky is sending an email to the embassy as I write this that I fully expect will not be answered for days.

What else can I do? The people on the appt/ info. line knew absolutely nothing, I even asked for and spoke to a supervisor. They gave me a local number "nonimmigrant trunk line" that I had Vicky call. They, two seperate times, said they don't have it yet and transferred her to a recording when they said they're transferring her to the immigrant visa dept. She gave up after the second call, can't blame her.

Tomorrow is the 5th business day, I'm only trying to find out what the problem is or why they haven't released it yet, if there's additional documents or something needed from us.

Should I call Dept. of State?

Is this normal?

We're trying to make her travel plans, and we were both sure she'd be here this week. Now... if they ship it tomorrow, maybe. She still has to do the CFO seminar, I told her to wait until she had the visa so she doesn't get hassled for some strange paperwork like i've read so many times. It's very clear on their website the documents required if you have your visa already. If the embassy doesn't ship it soon (like tomorrow) we're going to go another weekend apart, and completely in the dark as to why.

sometimes it take 2 weeks to 3 weeks before the visa deliverd waithing is the most painful but soon your honey well be home for life time

Just wondering after your bride gets to the USA if she has problems adjusting thinking the USA is too cold all the time even in normal temps.

My wife to be said it was "cold" a few times in phil and I was thinking I wonder what she's talking about because I can see in the weather report the low is like 70-75 degrees at the time.

When I was with her on Christmas in Mindanao I was sweating all the time as usual.. lol. One time at night maybe it was 70 or 72 and she said it was cold. I was wondering what she was talking about but sometimes we had the air con on in the room and I was a little cold but she was ok.

My Dad's friend married a girl from Thailand and the weather was a big adjustment thing to her even though she moved to Arizona.

I saw one guy here lived in Alaska and had pics of his wife in the snow and they looked happy as could be.

I'm just wondering from your experience if the weather was a big adjustment issue for your wife or if it wasn't much of a big deal... :)

WHAT? That's so absurd, why this (unnecessary) extra step when the US embassy already gave him a VISA?

Basically i went over to the USA on a J1 (cultural exchange visa- which is NOT subject to the 2yr homestay by the way) in the summer 2007 and lost my passport crying.gif and with it my i94 card arrival/departure card.
I wanted to replace this and so i paid the $450 blink.gif filing fee to get a replacment of this but a month later i hadnt receiveed anything, not even a notice of reciept! I kept calling saying i was leaving soon and i needed it and basically wht was the deal and they just said i had to wait!!?? mad.gif Bit weird as i had to leave due to my visa expiration was coming close.
Well anyway in the end i had to go to the airport without this even though i paid. I expected hassle at the airport but the airport staff just gave me another one to fill out before i boarded the plane (i was kinda angry at this as i paid $450 to get a replacment!!)
A few months ago a letter arrived at andrews saying 'abandoment of case' I mean ####### i didnt abandon it , I had to go home!!!!

Basically im worried that on my interview the consulate will start to investigate and resecrh stuff and see this 'abandoment' come up on their database which are all linked and think i overstayed! And then deny me without even being allowed to explain and tell me that I will have to appeal if i want to take it up! blink.gif
I have bank statements showing card transactions at the airport on day i left and then the next day in London. I also have an email from Northwest airlines to say that they will be able to confirm the passeneger list if ned be.
But if this all DOES come up in the interview, will i even be given a chance to show all this or will they say take it up as an appeal?

Do u think im overworrying anyway?? I hope so, i hope its just pre-interview nerves. All my paperwork is in order, my medical shows im completeley healthy and i have no convictions.

The consul swore her in.

He said "have you ever been to the US?" She said no of course

He said "this should make your husband happy, please come back on Monday to pick up your visa"

Gave her a card with "K" stamped on it, and that was that.

All the C--p she brought wasn't even opened or asked about

The only paperwork that was turned in ahead of time was the packet III stuff.

i filled I-129f on july and they received on july 8 2008 and notice date is july 30 2008...i haven't received any other papers from vermont.

im so nervous abt this...please somebody give me some answers...

Thanks to everyone on this site for great information. Not being overly rich, I filled out all the paperwork myself and submitted it. If you follow guidelines, it works! It probably didn't hurt that my finacee is from China and we got a picture in front of the then incomplete "bird's nest" in Beijing during January as part of our proof of meeting recently smile.gif

I will update my timeline as soon as I get the piece of paper in the mail. Hopefully it will be in a couple of days.

Firstly
My fiance Mani and i went to Delhi together for his interview on Dec 8! we were approved it was a reallly GOOD interview and the CO officer was plesent and he actually was joking around with us, he asked me the Petitioner more questions then my fiance kind of surprised us both.

Secondly
Today Dec 10 we got a call from the VFS Delhi saying that our evidence is to much to mail back to us so we have to pick it up, but they have our visa and passport all ready, so we asked them to courier it to us in Chandigarh, they will send it today and they said to pick it up tomorrow from the company.

my question is were do we get the sealed envelope from which we take to the US? cause the VFS person said they only received our photos..so i will call the embassy tomorrow.

can anyone help with this were n who we get the sealed envelope from?

There was another couple there too (Elmer from Houston and his wife) They had been rejected on K-1 and were on another go around as CR-1 and they also received PINK (Sorry in all the excitement I forgot Elmers Wifes Name!)

Doan and I arrived at the consulate about 6:15 and ended up about 10th in line when they let them in around 7 where Doan waited (standing) for about an hour. We were off to the cafe to wait.

Doan was called to submit initial documents and the lady was very (VERY) rude to her. Tossed around her documents then gave them back and told her to organize them again. This was comeplete BS!!!

She was called around 9:30 (which was actually her appointment time). An american man around 50 interviewed her. She said he was very nice. She was asked around 10 questions or so (I will post them later - she is resting now). All in all she said the interview lasted about 5 minutes. The pink was already in the folder in front of the CO. After asking the questions and looking at a few documents and pictures he said Welcome to America and filled out the pink and gave it to her.

Jim just called to let us know they got PINK also. Phuong and the kids had to go back after lunch so not sure what all happened with them. We are just so happy that they all got pink and will be having dinner at Ralphs tonight to celebrate.
