One more thing....

Should I get the Invoice Identification Number before or after we send the DS-3032 via email?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDS-3032 when both Petitioner and Beneficiary are abroad
So my husband and I got our NVC case number today :) and we gave our email addresses to the NVC operator. We have the DS-3032 ready to email according to the format given on this website for emailing the form. We have a few things that we are not sure about.

1)I (petitioner) live with my husband in Colombia. Should my husband (beneficiary) even put our Colombian address since we don't want anything sent there from the NVC?

2)Should we put our Colombian address or our expected US address once we get there? Will they try to send the green card to our Colombian address?

Thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-864 AOS, #22-23 & #25
So I am getting ready to turn in my AOS (I-864) packet and I am re-checking everything. I just want some confirmation for the choices I am making.

For questions #22-23 concerning Sponsor's employment:

I put my employment in Colombia for #22, but I put $0 for #23 since the income I earn in Colombia cannot count as income to sponsor someone.

Should I not even put my employment in Colombia for #22?

Let me give some background for question #25 concerning taxes filed:
I filed taxes for the money I earned in the US in 2009.
I worked abroad in 2010, but earned less than the requirement to file taxes as married filing separate ($3650) so I DID NOT file taxes in 2010.
I worked abroad in 2011 and earned over the minimum as married filing separate so I filed taxes for my earnings abroad.

Specific questions for #25:
1) I did not check the first box because it says:
I have filed a Federal tax return for each of the three most recent tax years.....

2) I filled out my earnings for 2009-2011, putting $0 for money earned abroad since that is not counted in your gross adjusted income.

3) I also did not check the second box because it says:
I have attached photocopies or transcripts.....for my second and third most recent tax years.

Will they say I have an error by not checking the boxes even though I have attached two years of tax transcripts and proof for not filing the other year?

I know these are really specific questions, but the directions for the I-864 are horrible especially for those of us living and working abroad.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-864 Joint Sponsor (Files Taxes Jointly) Ind or Joint Income?

I have been searching this question in the boards and have found some answers, but I just wanted to ask again to have the most updated answer.

My father is the Joint Sponsor and is filling out the I-864. He and my mother file taxes jointly, but we only need his income for the sponsorship.

Lines 23 and 24 - he should put only his individual annual income??

Yes. You are only considering his income so put down the projected income for him over the next 12 months.

Line 25: the total income from his tax returns should be only his income or his and my mothers incomes as shown on the Tax Return??

Once again, only his income. Try to include his W-2s in the packet along with the tax transcripts so they can see which is his income and which is your mom's.

Thanks for the help!

Didn't include the actual document necessary. You will need to include the Apostille (to be safe) along with the document attached here.

I found out what was wrong. There are two different online versions and he sent in the more informal one (that works for within Colombia) rather than the one that is for international transactions. It should look something like what I attached.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPolice Certificate from Colombia
Has anyone else had any problems with the Police Certificate lately?

The only threads I could find on visajourney were from before DAS was disbanded.

My husband printed out his police record certificate (one page, online) and included it in the package, but we were told that the document is missing by the operator today.

Should we send an email with the document attached? Mail in another hard copy? Try to call and talk to somebody?

This is the first road bump we have had so I am not sure what is the best course.
