And the Guide says not everyone is benefit for 130...

I am getting the idea, as a lawful permanent resident, he can marry you and bring you here, but should go much quicker if he is a US citizen. So he was playing around with it since he was eight years old assuming the five year wait, but now met you and is now motivated to move ahead.

I really have no idea which route is quicker, to bring you here as a LPR, or to wait as a USC, there is different sections of this board that cover stuff like this. As a born USC, took me about a year to bring my bride here, but hear things are moving quicker now. Except for getting that oath letter for my wife. Had to put in a brand new mailbox this morning, some drunk hit it last night, but that didn't work either for getting that letter. Maybe tomorrow.



Well I just finished my research on him beeing USC and then applying K 1...Wow that was stressfull lol.
I dont think another way will be any quicker..maybe only a month.

Interesting, your guy is getting USC before marriage or at least applying for it, quite a contrast with all the other threads posted here. Assume he is going for the five year that requires a lot less proof. Have to read about that for my daughter that wasn't thinking by turning 18 before the USCIS got around to us. Know now we have to keep track of her visits outside of the USA and employment history, unless she plans on moving out of here, the address will be real easy. And how many days have you spent outside of the USA in the last five years should be also be easy. It will be five years.

Well he is a permanent resident his whole life and his father is citizen. He wants to become citizen anyways,because he needs a passport and that stuff.
I wouldnt know another way how to do it ?
He never left the states his entire life, so he will be fine...

So it means that if he was constantly 5 years in the States, it will speed up the process ?

The I-130 petition determines eligibility to apply for an immigrant visa that results in a greencard upon arrival in the USA....

DCF is a filing method.... This however requires the USC to be resident in the foreign country for 6 mos. (though Germany may be different)



It means that when I have the DCF I already can enter the states and be there ?? What is a filling method ?

And HE has to be US resident for 6 months ?

my name is Isabel. I am 19 years old and live in Germany.
I met my Boyfriend Sammy online, thank god to myspace. And we just found out and know we are meant for each other.
So he asked me to marry him ( yay ).

Well he lives in the states his whole life already , had a green card but no citizenship.
Now he got his so he is officially US.


Of course we want to be together every day, so we wanna get married soon so we can be together.

So we thought of two ways, either the K1 Visa or the Visa for Relative, when we would be already married.I guess thats the K3?

My question is besides the fees where the Relative Visa is cheaper lol...
which one is easier to do and doesnt take so long ?
What problems could I have applying ?

We would get married in the States, in New York in Fact.

Is that even possible, that I go there, we get married and then I travel back smile.gif? Once more and he is handing in the Visa thing for Relatives?

Where in NY is the Department where he needs to hand in the papers?



AND ESPECIALLY: What about me travelling to visit him while the Visa application ???
