Asia: South	Packet 3/4 question	Hey guys, longgggg timeeeeee, I have been reading, just havent had the time or patience to post n e thing... I think I am SCREWED. My fiance sent packet 3 back on Feb. 27th. Its been 2 1/2 weeks, havent heard n e thing. ALSO, I call DOS everyday and according to them, nothing has been entered into the system, therefore it means they have not recieved our packet 3 at the consulate. I tried e-mailing, I tried calling the embassy, maybe I am calling the wrong number or something, but no one answers. I just wish I could somehow find out if they recieved anything and have just not entered it into the system yet. I feel so helpless right now. I dont know where to go from here and what to do. I told the lady at DOS that I cant get through to anyone at the embassy, she said its only been 2 1/2 weeks, wait atleast 2 more, then we will look into it. I am just........... spent. Any advice? Asia: South	Packet 3/4 question	hey guys, long time, I got really busy because there is construction at our house, and my grandfather is really ill, not to mention work has been crazy... n e way, finally got around to some paperwork, got a quick question, on the DS 230, part 1, where it asks for all the "SPOUSE" information, do we put N/A on that, since its a fiance visa? Asia: South	Packet 3/4 question	OK, I am going to be a dork and answer one of my own question here.... I am guessing this is the right answer... DS-156 is for a NON-IMMIGRANT VISA, which will not apply here, so we dont need to fill it out and send it.... the DS-230 application is the one that applies to us because we are going for an IMMIGRANT VISA... is that it? Asia: South	Packet 3/4 question	hey, quick question... I was looking at this website.... http://newdelhi.usem...acket309k1.html .... and under "APPLICATION FORMS" it says........ "attached forms DS-156, Nonimmigrant Visa Application, for each applicant (two for each applicant)."....... Correct me if I am wrong... I dont see DS-156 attached anywhere????? I just see DS-230 Part 1 and 2.... and I-134 attached, but NOT DS-156. ALSO.... I am guessing the I-134 has to be an ORIGINAL copy right?... or, can I fill it out and FAX it over to her? Asia: South	Packet 3/4 question	Ok, I couldnt control myself so I called DOS today, according to DHL, the consulate recieved my file on SATURDAY morning, I didnt think there was anyway they would have put it in the system by now... but to my pleasent surprise, the DOS lady told me, they put it in the system and already sent out the "instruction package". I asked if that was "packet 3" and she said "yes, they sent out the instruction package." Asia: South	Packet 3/4 question	Karri... sorry to hear about your company, what line of work are you in? If you are planning on a wedding sometime in May, then you are still ahead of schedule even if you do not send your packet 3 in right away, you should be fine with the amount of time it takes with the process going on its normal speed... ALTHOUGH, I would recommend getting it done ASAP, because you never know what can happen, any kind of undue delay can occur at anytime, so its better to be safe... The world is becoming ever smaller and the smallest thing like a local election, to something big like a terrorist attack can cause delays in the process. p.s. Asia: South	Packet 3/4 question	Moksha, I got the confirmation from DHL today that the embassy recieved our file... how long should I wait to call DOS... 48 hours should be sufficient right?... also, if its not too much trouble, where did you print out packet 3, because I found it online at MULTIPLE locations, which is the correct one that worked for you? Asia: South	Packet 3/4 question	Moksha, I hear ya, I got back from India on Jan 23rd and I am still kinda depressed lol, jus wanna be with her so bad, the only thing keeping me going is the fact that the process of the K1 visa has sped up since the NOA 2. I am planning on buying tix anyday now, I am gonna be goin in May, so I am almost 99.999% positive she will have an interview date and visa by then. Asia: South	Packet 3/4 question	Hey guys... spoke to NVC this evening and the lady said my file has been sent to the consulate as of Feb 3rd, I checked DHL tracking and indeed it was shipped out on the 4th (assuming that is my file going to New Delhi) and departed NY this morning at 7 am... Now I guess I will wait a few days then call DOS for an update... can you guys tell me the DOS number again, if its not too much trouble, and from what I had read earlier, I guess it is pretty easy to deal with them right? Asia: South	Packet 3/4 question	Hey guys, got my formal letter from NVC... "The NVC has recently recieved an approved I-129F petition filed on behalf of your fiance. This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forewarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place"... bla bla bla.... Guys, is it safe to assume that this is a good thing lol.... I was reading some horror stories in another forum... someone had typed that they were calling NVC for the past 5 weeks, and kept being told they were in "administrative processing"....This doesnt seem like a pre-printed letter, so do you think they will ACTUALLY send it within a week, or is there still a chance that I could be stuck in administrative processing?... I was thinking, I'll keep an eye on the DHL tracking system, and as soon as the next batch of packages are sent out, I will call and check if they were sent... Was there anyone you guys know that got stuck in processing for an extended period of time? Thanks for taking the time to read and answer. Hope you guys are having a good week. Karri--- Maybe he just doesnt want to take the chance of any confusion or undue delay happening because of 2 packet 3s in the system, 1 that they send you, and the other that you print out and send them. I'll probably call them again on wednesday. It was good to know that NVC got my stuff though, because I still have not gotten an official letter from them that they got my files... thanks again for your advice Moksha. Asia: South	Packet 3/4 question	Thanks Classicrock68, just spoke to a rep, they said they have it but it has not been sent to the consulate in New Delhi yet, it is under "Administrative Processing" and there is no time frame for that... I guess I might have jumped the gun a little since I jus got approved a week ago... how long should I wait before I call them back? How long did it take you guys before it left NVC for New Delhi? Did anyone else have this problem? They dont open for another 5 mins, so I will call and try to speak to one of the people a little later, hopefully the automated system is not correct... Asia: South	Packet 3/4 question	ok wow... MOKSHA told me bout this forum and I could not be more thankfull... I started on page one and read every single post and learned SO MUCH.... As for me... here is my sequence so far.... Jan 26th --- got my NOA2 electronically Jan 30th --- got my NOA2 in the mail my friend on VJ who had the same dates as me for APPLICATION SENT, NOA1 , AND NOA2, called NVC yesterday and they said that they had sent his application to the Embassy already... I checked on the DHL tracking website you guys had posted and sure enough, his was sent to Islamabad (I did not come across ANYONE other then him that had a Pakistan application, so it had to be him)... I also saw that a package was sent on the same day to NEW DELHI and that is where mine was suppose to go.... As of today morning 7:21 am, it is "Transit through DHL facility"/"NY CITY GATEWAY, NY"... I am praying my stuff is in that package... I will follow all the advice you guys gave and wait until a few days after it arrives, then call DOS, and see if NEW DELHI recieved it in the system yet... as soon as I get a yes, I will have my fiance mail out packet 3... we plan to get married in MAY so we are still ahead of schedule but it would be nice to get all the paperwork and interview out of the way as soon as possible... I wont get an approval until end of this week or next week lol... the interesting thing here is, after waiting so many months, instead of being excited that there is (most likely) only about a week or two left (at the most), I fell like this week will go by like an ETERNITY haha... n e way, there is a saying where I come from, "sehj pakke so meetha hoye" meaning, the longer you let the fruit ripen, the sweeter the juice, so Im going to let things come as they may... thanks again for all your guys' support... may you all be blessed and be with your loved ones soon...
