USCIS Service CentersVermont Filing Taking Too Long?????
Hi,

I signed a petition to The United States House of Representatives and The United States Senate which says:

"We and our families have been waiting too long for our immigration petitions to be reviewed. Speed up processing the backlog of applications (specifically at the Vermont Servicing Center) so we don't have to wait to be with our families"

Will you sign this petition? Click here:

Why is VSC sooooo slow??

Thanks!

PhilippinesInterview; small issue, hopefully wont be a big problem
My fiancee had her interview today in Manila. All went well, except one very small thing. On her birth certificate the mid-wife whom filled out the certificate spelled the family name wrong by one letter, she put an "E" in the name when it should have been an "A". And this was caught by the embassy workers. Fiancee was told to get a new NBI with the family name spelled with an "E" and send it to the Embassy. Consular did keep her passport to stamp with the Visa when they receive the needed documentation.

My questions are; Will the NBI office give her problems issuing her this new form with the other family name on it for the Embassy.

And if NBI does, how long will this process take to receive the visa.

Any input on this??

WOW 4 MONTHS AND YOUR COMPLAINING? Try waiting 18 like my wife and I did. Then you can complain! Start to worry after a year!

Don't bother Senators and Congressmen for trivial things. You're not out of the timeline until 6 Months PLUS 1!

Holy Moly!!!!......18 months!!!!......very very sorry to hear that.....we're just thinking WHY the difference in processing time between Cali and Vermont....it takes good management to share production workload....if the processing was contracted out to private companies, I believe the timeline would be much quicker and proficient.

Many many of us feel your pain and anxiety. It gets worse with each passing day and week and month. Ours is about a month earlier than yours and we are still waiting as well. I called USCIS when it passed the 5 month mark which was supposedly past the normal proccessing time when I called. Only to be told it was still within normal times.........whatever.....Now the time has officially been changed on USCIS to 6 months proccessing, so when I hit 6 months and call, likely I'll get the same response "normal proccessing times" etc. Extremely frustrating proccess and unfortunately all we can do is wait. I really don't think any amount of calling, crying, begging, whining or congressmen is going to change anything. We are at big brother's mercy and all we can do is ponder why we were subjected to VSC instead of CSC in which case our significant other would have already been in the states. Best of luck to you, keep the faith, I guess after it's finally over it won't seem so bad. Take care.

Thanks for your words of advise and your experiences with USCIS........we are always hopeful, and positive.......I know there are many out there feeling the pain....sad thing is, this is our tax $$$ at work for us....just like everything else our GOV'T does................slooooooooooooooow, lazy and costly and most times rude to the tax paying public.........nevertheless, we will sit and wait, and encourage each other........Truly, Thank God for Skype....if it wasn't for Skype, I could'nt see my baby's smile

Good luck and hang in there a little while longer! Don't underestimate a congressman's help when you are outside the processing times. They do represent us, and some are very good at what they do. Reluctance to ask won't do anything though. Also Mick_n_Leila, your timeline states "Texas Service Center". You can change this to Vermont by editing your timeline and get/contribute a more relevant estimate in waiting. :)

Thank you for the advice....oh, and I will make that call and/or email to every one involved the moment the clock strikes past the appointed time...... and ........Congrats!!!! on receiving your NOA2 approval recently....thats great!!!....yep, we're just hanging out waiting, waiting, waiting..............

Just wanted to say HI to every one that is sharing the same journey as us, and maybe a place to sound off.......this has been a long and difficult road for us....
*the strain of being separated, our lives are on hold
*i just dont understand WHY Vermont is sooooo slow to process petitions, while Cali SC is zipping thru em
*every one asking on my side and hers " when is she coming or when are you going to USA"
....I do know most are asking out of concern, but it it makes us miss each other all the more,

I could go on and on,

Anyways, feel free to say "hi" if you are in th
is together with us or maybe just share info or concerns.

I sincerely wish a accelerated processing of each and every ones petition and a very blessed and life long Matrimonial Bond for us all.

You want to know something that is shocking...

I DON'T BELONG IN THIS GROUP!!! :o

I just realised that I thought this is the group for people who SENT their petition in May, not for people who received their NOA1 in May!

Im so sorry, should I leave? I don't want to im so attached to the people on this group. Im sorry! :(

You do belong here....you filed in May.....stick around

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2012 Filers

I am getting extremely disheartened as well seeing people with NOA1 dates after me getting approved :( I dunno what to think anymore but I am really frustrated now that I still have to wait another long four days till they start working again. And calling them does not help at all!! Is it really possible that it may be lost or something?? I am having nightmares lately, it's so sad :(

relsamy,

My fiancee was extremely frustrated seeing the same (others getting approved that filed after us) also to the point that she wasnt smiling anymore when we chatted on Skype, which was sad to me, cuz always I looked forward to see that smile every day. The delay bothered me also but theres nothing I could do but just have faith, I was absolutely sure it would come.....of course I did have moments of weakness, but reading the post here I realized that this is normal. Anyways, I do get to see her smile again now, which in turn overwhelms my heart.

So, Pray and have Faith, all this worry will just age you faster, cuz everyday your one step closer.....I know its easy for me to say all this, however we are not done yet, still have hurdles to overcome...... but we'll get there.

God Bless

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresG-1145 Question

Perhaps I have found an answer. I found these glossary terms:

Applicant (Visa): A foreign citizen who is applying for a nonimmigrant or immigrant U.S. visa. The visa applicant may also be referred as a beneficiary for petition based visas

Beneficiary: An applicant for a visa as named in a petition from the DHS, USCIS.

There is no definition of Petitioner. S0 based on this, my understanding is that Applicant and Beneficiary are one and the same and that Petitioner is different.

Which means, I am the petitioner and my husband is both the applicant and beneficiary. Can anyone corroborate this?

Thanks!

See, Now this is difficult to understand,  on the G-1145 form, it asks the Applicant/Petitioner to fill out their name on the form...with that, I was thinking it was me, the Sponsor.....I'm still looking for the definition in regards to the Immigration Dept.....any help on this silly, but still somewhat important issue, would be appriciated.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about fees for K1
Hi all, we are new here. I have tried to find the answer here, but its somewhat confusing with so much info and everyone's different circumstances. I'm in the USA, she (fiancee) is in the Philippines and we are waiting for the NOA2 for our K1 visa...... Q is, does she pay the visa fee in the Philippines at the time of her interview or do i pay here in USA?... and what $ amount is it?....I've read from $88 to $380....

Also, at the time when arrives in the USA with me, and after we marry and we file for Adjustment Of Status within the 90 days.....do we pay the fee at that time?.....what is this fee?? ( i read $1070)......and when we file for AOS, is this also applying for the green card at the same time??

My head is spinning from so much reading, please help if you can, or direct me to the correct info or link.

Thank you in advance,
Mick and Leila

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting fiancee more than once
Thanks Dave,
I am well above the income requirements.....but to tell the truth, my disposable income as been strained by this economy and keeping my business afloat. Also my adult children have been effected by this downward economy and required some help from dad. So, these are my reasons for not being able to visit more than once.

However, on paper my income is good....and actually, I am planning on working another job here soon and keep business alive also.
I really shouldn't have a problem in this area.

Thank you for advice and info.

Thank you for the replies....I have read every requirement several times, and fulfilled them all and exceeded most.....I do understand that they will not be interested in our 1000 pics, but only a handful.
As I am debating these ppl that insist that I visit more than once...... "I have met all requirement, and if 2 or more visits were required, it would be stated in the I-129F instructions".

It's just all this discussion on the subject make one wonder......what if.......of course we don't want to be denied and go thru this again or even extend out the process any long than necessary.

I also have probably close to 100 pages or more of our constant communication from Yahoo, Skype video chat log, Skype calls to her cell phone and text messages, receipts for flowers, etc.

My fiancee is a bit concerned also, well maybe more than a bit, of how she will answer and how the consulor will respond to only one visit, when asked. I've told her to just tell the truth.

I just wanted to hear from folks that were successful or not, with only one visit and what happened.

Thank you all, and a special thank you to Azteca143

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting fiancee more than once
How important is it to the governing bodies (immigration, consular, etc.) that the sponsor visits his/her fiancee in their country more than once. Is one visit sufficient, or will the consular or whom ever, see this as a issue?..... I've been told by others (not here in VJ) that it could be a problem proving a genuine relationship.

Is there anyone out there that has visited their fiancee only once and still received the VISA, and what problems arose from only one visit?...if any

We do have all receipts, itinerary, etc. over 1000 pics of ourselves and with family and friends during my 2 week stay, records of all our twice daily communications from Skype, Yahoo and cell phones.

This is the only issue of concern, we are great on everything else..... is it imperative to make more than 1 visit?

Also, I do have good reasons for only 1 trip, but will they listen and consider my reasons?

Thanks,
Mick n Leila

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAfter the Interview..Is it possible to get theVisa the next day
Hi folks,

As the topic says;.... After the Interview..Is it possible to get theVisa the next day.....and how to do it?........I was told by someone that went thru the process, that if I am present for the Interview with my fiancee in Manila, that we can request the Visa to be expedited, and receive it the next day....How can this happen, and what do I need to do if this is possible to make this happen?.....also, these folks that told me this, is theirs a isolated incidence that they received their Visa the next day, or does this happen often?....I cannot afford two trips to the Philippines; one for the Interview and another trip to escort her to the US....It would be wonderful to do it all in one visit and accompany her to the Interview.

Thank in advance
