So i had my wife visit Field office at holtsville on 15th, and they ran her Fingerprints on 16th. On 20th we had an update on case saying Biometrics is done, your case is in queue for Interview/Scheduling. On 22nd i received an email indicating your interview date has been scheduled, you will be getting notice via mail. Cheers.

Update: had my wife done her bionetrics per field office. @tata can you please update the date for bio to 5/16/14.

Did another infopass and they advised file wasnt touched before for some reasons now that biometrics are done, we should see an update.

Application Date January 2nd, and received a NOA on Jan 8th. Nothing after that.

Update: I had my wife call the service center they advise to visit one of the field office after waiting for 30 days.

So today 5/15 - she went to Holtsville, NY Field office and they advised her that her application never reached NY. The best she can do is put her in for Biometrics.

They advised her to come back tomorrow for her Biometrics. Can someone tell me what can be done at this point. Looks like she is just getting my wife's bio as a courtesy and it will not move her case anywhere after that? Should be harass Service Center a 15 days after Bio? Or do you receive any NOA after bio? let me know. Thanks

I will ask my wife to call on April 1st and speak to USCIS. Also if no response, ill ask her to request to speak with Tier 2 officer. I can't stress much, all of our cases get stuck.. wonder if USCIS just hates us LOL.

@rtm thanks bud, i'll ask my wife to call the immigration on April 1st as they mentioned when we called 2nd time. I'll also advise her to request to speak with tier 2 officer. Hopefully, if noting works out, i'll have her make the info-pass and go visit the location. Hopefully everything works out.

Hello guys, we filed n-400 in early january and we received noa and check was cashed on 1/8/2014. Online status still state in initial review. We put in service request and were told to call back in 15 days. We called today and now say call after 30 days which is on april 1st. What you guys recommend? Should we make infopass appointment once 30 days are over? Or issue new request per customer service rep?

Btw we are in long island, ny. We sent application to dallas, tx box. Not sure what is my field office. Maybe someone can help me. Thanks for the help in advance.

Just an update, i haven't heard anything on my Wife's N400 Case. She has called in the 1800 number to put a service request and they asked us to wait approx. 15 days, this is the 2nd week and i am waiting axiously. Our stuff always get stuck.... As the 15 days pass, we will call again to 800 number and make an infopass appointment. Anyone got any suggestion?

hi guys i need some assistance. Any help is appreciated.

Filed N-400 for my wife in 1st Week of January 2014 (based on 3 years).

We received NOA a week later indicating dates 01/08/2014 as priority date and received date.

Check was cashed on 01/13/2014.

Till date we have not received BIO date.. should we call in USCIS or make infopass appointment? Can someone advise.. or should we wait.. We are residing in Long Island, NY and mailed documents to Dallas, TX facility. I am assuming my field office is Long Island Based. Please advise.

i called last night, they have increased the review time from 4-6 weeks. Therefore kindly allow them time to review. If it is approaching 6-8 week deadline, it should be worked soon (as per the NVC rep). If for some reason it doesn't work, you can call and expedite.

I have the same question. So, letter of employment and pay stubs are not required?

They can ask to verify the current job and current cash asset in bank. To avoid RFE, i would send... because my lawyer has told me to get past 3 yrs of trascript, job employment letter (pay stub not required if letter attached), bank letter stating balance, other required docs

Jimmy, based on your timeline (07-16-2010 - DS-230 Received at NVC; Entered AVR System), after submission of your IV packet, it has been only 3 weeks.

6 to 8 weeks by AVR is after submitting the DS-230 package and it is the standard message as well. However, it looks like they are clogged too.

How much is your phone bill?

Wonder if i should change to Vonage.

Currently I call through my cell and home phone by calling a Reliance Global Call number and then wife's India number. Cost is $1.99 a minute.

I use up about $100 a month just on talking on the phone. Luckily though we use the internet/webcam quite a bit too.

I use Airtell Call Home North Plan for Punjab Area, and Vonage. I talk to my wife 3x a day. Once she wakes up, once she goes to sleep, and once i wake up. She wakes up and i go to sleep. I pay $34 for Airtell for 2400 minutes, and Vonage at home.

Letter from the Embassy

i applied for I-130 (CR/IR-1) and I-129F (K3) petition, only one can be processed by NVC. NVC will see which case was approved first. Lets take couple of scenarios - 1) if K3 gets approved at same time with CR/IR-1, NVC will close K3, and proceed with CR/IR-1. This is to avoid multiple visas and further delay in duplicates.

2) If your K3 gets approved prior to your CR/IR-1, then they will proceed with K3.
2a) Further if your CR/IR-1 gets approved and NVC receives while K3 is being processed, they will upgrade your case and request further docs.
2b) else they will continue with K3, and once beneficiary is here, you can take the approval of CR/IR-1 and upgrade your case to file residency of green card.
3) If CR/IR-1 gets approved first, then NVC will continue with this, and they will close K3 since it is useless.

Important Notes: This is confirmed by USCIS, that given the both cases take same amount of time, it is recommended that you only proceed with appropriate case in order to avoid issues. Following up with K3 will delay your I-130 slightly, because the docs are sent over to Border security aka homeland security.. they will proceed with both cases then it goes to USCIS.

Subsequent filing of K3 was recommended before because CR/IR-1 would take year to process, while K3 would take 6 months. Now both take 5-6 months.

- Tax Transcripts were sent in.. - I will give take tax transcripts again
- My Passport Copies
- Our Wedding Pics and places we went to together - 10x wedding and 5x random
- Copy of Phone Bills (Vonage, Reliance and Airtel)
- Copy of Few E-Mails
- Valentines Card and Other Gift I sent (mailing proof)

My Wife had an interview on 9/30 and they placed us in Administrative Processing and handed us white paper. The lady in Embassy told me that it will take 2-3 weeks and they will call us. They also kept my wife's passport. Please advise how long will it take? and Will she get her visa?? what i can do to speed up the process. Thanks.

Just updating the timeline with my interview date! Finally received notification and the letter of my interview at Holtsville, NY for May 8th!

Now to studying.

Anyone have experience with Holtsville Field Office and how long it takes to finish the interview? My interview is scheduled for 7am and I have a school final at 8am. I was hoping I could complete the interview within the hour to make it to my other exam which conveniently is close to that field office.

So jealous of (but just as happy for!) all the peeps who have already been scheduled an interview! I'm still patiently waiting!

I also just received a yellow letter asking for my driver license. Does this mean they overlooked my past minor traffic tickets that I didn't really mention in my application? I'm still pretty anxious about that part of my application.

Didn't realize my appointment was on 1/7/14. I have always had it in my mind that my appointment was on 1/9 for some reason. Got ready today to go to the office and realize the appointment was for 2 days before!! I panicked but went to the ASC office anyway to just try my luck. I was afraid that my whole application was gonna be considered "abandoned". Lobby attendant took my papers and didn't even ask for an explanation why I'm coming 2 days later. It helped that the office was empty (only had 1 group of people ahead of me). Didn't even wait to get fingerprinted. Checked in and left the place all within 15 minutes! I consider myself lucky!!!

Well yesterday turned into a big disaster. I went to USCIS Website to see if the numerous times Monday night and checked 3 times Monday morning to see if the St Louis Office was closed since it was closed on Monday. It did not show the office as being closed so left at 4 am. It was a long trip to St Louis with snow covered Interstate, it took 4 hours to travel 200 miles. At 8 am I decided to Call USCIS to make sure the office was open. I was informed at this time that the office was closed for the day. We were only 45 minutes away, so it took another 4 hours to drive back home. I decided to check the website and to no surprise it was still not listed as closed go figure. I was informed that when the office opens back up we can go back and see if they will do the biometrics because it is done case by case in-between regular scheduled appointments. So decided to just wait for the new appointment to be scheduled. After the office being closed for 2 days and maybe even today the office will be packed with walk-ins. So now the wait goes on again. Glad to hear that others are getting their bio's done. Have a great day.

I completely missed my ASC appointment by 2 days and explained my situation to the lobby attendant. He didn't even ask for an explanation and processed my papers right away. In and out within 15 minutes. I was so lucky! Sometimes these offices are very lenient with application appointments. Most allow early walk-ins so coming in a few days late shouldn't be a problem. But if your office is 200 miles away, it's a gamble that could cost your time and gas =/ hope u can get your rescheduled time soon!

What do I need once I receive my NOA2

Once I receive my NOA2 what do I need to send to the NVC? I have already obtained all the required tax forms but do the police certificates need to be sent to the NVC or do I just need them for the interview?

The only thing they may have an issue with is that you have recently left your job. If you are starting a new job in Canada, or have money to support your stay I would provide this information at immigration, so they don't think you are planning on staying in the USA.

I came in and out of the US several times while my I130 was being processed, and as long as you have return flights and no indication of trying to stay they should be fine. But as everyone said, don't lie. It's just not worth the risk

Pardon me i am confused. You say you are quitting job to go to Canada. You want to visit your wife but you say fiance says congressional aide says lie to CBP . So lie about what exactly?
And do you have a wife or a fiance or both? Just curious.

Sorry, it is my wife. I am currently working in the caribbean and am moving back to canada shortly. I have been told that while I130's are being processed it is very easy to get denied entry
