US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHelp with Form I-134
Help!

My fiance has sent it to me already but he printed it in 2 separate pages. also, he checked "do not intend" in question 11 where they asked if he intends to make specific contributions to support me. Since he thought he wasn't going to make "specific contributions" anyway. my interview's in one week and there just isn't enough time for him to send me another form.

hope you can help. thanks!

He sends it to you but you'll be dealing with the US Embassy, not the Philippine Embassy.

Oh yes! I meant the US Embassy in Manila. Thanks thanks!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHelp with Form I-134
Hi, our petition for fiance visa has been recently approved and now we're on the process of scheduling an appointment with the Philippine Embassy.

My fiance lives in the US and is in active duty, while I am here in the Philippines. After filling up the Form I-134, does he need to file it anywhere in the States or just have it notarized and send it to me? I'm planning to set my interview on May 24 which is roughly 3 weeks from now.

Thanks in advance!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionYet ANOTHER I-134 topic....

I'm sure 2 seperate pages is fine, that's what we did.

Q11 I think depends on the consulate. For London we put 'do intend' and wrote 'N/A (K1 visa process for permanent residence)'. Try posting your question in the Manila consulate forum, someone should be able to give you a specific answer.

Thanks! :)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionYet ANOTHER I-134 topic....
did you print the form I-134 in just one paper, front and back?

my fiance printed it in two separate pages, is that okay?

he also checked the "do not intend" box in question #11, or should he have checked the "intend" box? :help: :help:

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionForm I-134 Problem

Both ways work. I checked "Do Not Intend" and wrote in N/A (K-1 visa process for permanent residence)

We had no problems!

As far as scanning and emailing it - what about the supporting documents, Letter of Employment, Tax Records, Pat Stubs, Bank Statements etc...

Have him scan and send this all to you and then take and send it to you also. If you get an RFE it will be on its way to submit with the RFE. Make sure he sends everything including the supporting evidence.

He has already sent me the other supporting documents so no problem there. So you're saying that a scanned I-134 is fine? People have been saying that the consul will look for the original. But we no longer have time to ship another form. :(

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionForm I-134 Problem
I have a few questions regarding Form I-134 that I hope you could help me with.

My fiance sent me the form along with his W2's, letter of employment, and letter from the bank. But there was one problem with Form I-134. Instead of checking the "I intend" he ticked "I do not intend" on question #11 regarding financial support.

We both did not understand the question and since it stated "specific contributions" he thought it was best to tick the "do not intend" box. But of course, he's going to be paying for everything. Is that going to cause any problem with the consulate?

Also, do we have to print it in one paper back to back? Can he just scan it with his signature and email it to me? My interview is on Monday and we don't have enough time to have it shipped.

I'm really hoping you can help me. Thank you very much!

PhilippinesHow did your fiance propose to you in the Philippines?

I'm just curious :)

We were on the beach with a couple of friends and while we were walking by the shore he took me to a table setup with a wine bottle, flowers and candles. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Our friends were taking pictures and taping the whole things so I'm really lucky to have that awesome moment captured. (L)

Philippinesis it bad at interview if u dont have house?
My fiance currently lives inside the base, so a few weeks before I arrive, that's the only time he'll move in a rented apartment. In a form I filled out asking where I intend to live, I just put address: Unknown but I put the state where my fiance and I will be living.

PhilippinesDS 160 Requirement

My smarter half just realized the email came from rds_builder@teletech.com not from the embassy. there is a discussion about it here in the forums, but it is in tagalog, and I don't read it much. But the email is looking pretty shady.
http://www.visajourn...irmation-email/

I got the same email yesterday. It was basically the same as the first email I got from the USembassy. Only this time they said that I should bring a DS-160. I personally think it's legit since they have my case number etc. It's probably some agency the USembassy hired to send out confirmation emails.

PhilippinesDS 160

oh ok.. so i need to pay the $131 fee first before i fill this out? ok.. thanks.. im waiting for DS 156 that my fiance sent me ;) hehehe

i don't think it matters whether you pay or fill it out first. the person from the embassy call center said that i can pay at bdo at least 3 working days before my interview. you need it cos the ds-160 prints out a barcode with the form that they will check when you go to the embassy for your interview.

"3. The Confirmation page with the bar coded confirmation number of the nonimmigrant electronic visa application form DS-160 that was completed at https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/. The Confirmation page with the bar coded confirmation number needs to be presented for each applicant."

-this was stated at the appointment confirmation letter email i got

Thank you Tahoma & Markyboi!

Do you guys have an idea if a K1 visa is eligible for 1st time immigrant discounted fares? Some people suggested this site: http://www.santraphael.com/home.php

The tickets are definitely cheaper than most sites I've visited.

PhilippinesVisa Approved!!!
Thank you guys for all your help! I was a bit worried at first cos I thought I had DS-160 but then I didn't. Fortunately, the only thing they looked for was the DS-156, DS-156K and DS-157. Plus I had a minor setback cos of one correction in a form I filled. But overall everything went fine. Was at the embassy for almost 6 hours including waiting time. But the consul had very few questions and in less than 5 minutes, my visa was approved! Thank God!:innocent:

Now all I need is to look for an affordable one way ticket to Seattle. Can anyone help me with that? I'm hoping to leave by June 12. B-)

Again, thank you and good luck to everyone else!!!

PhilippinesCFO-Parental Consent
Hey guys! I called CFO in QC (the one in Aurora Blvd) this morning. I asked what I needed to bring and when they found out I'm 23, the girl asked me to bring a parental consent in case the councilor asks for it. Isn't the legal marrying age in the Philippines 21? Why are they asking for this? What should I ask my mom to put in there? It should be notarized pa! What a hassle. Have any of you experienced this?

Agencies usually look for the passport and visa in order to give you the first time immigrant rate. They probably want to make sure your wife is an immigrant. Just scan your wife's passport and visa when it arrives, and send it to the agency.

PhilippinesMy wife came here via K-1 and now obtains Permanent Residence
The Philippines recognizes dual citizenship. My fiance is both a USC and Filipino citizen. He used his Philippine passport in coming to the Philippines and US passport in coming back. I'm just not sure how long it take for one to become a USC. They said at CFO seminar yesterday that it takes 3 CONTINUOUS years of residency in the US to become eligible for citizenship. Meaning she can't leave the US within 3 years or else she's gonna have to start over again.

Philippinesprenup
You should probably get to know her more. Find out things about her background like education, family, past relationships. You could tell a lot from those simple things. I won't deny it, a lot of Filipinas who were brought up poorly or lack education may take advantage of you. Especially if you plan to take her to the US and marry her. My advise would be to be vigilant. Watch out for signs that she may be using you for financial or whatever reasons. Like for example, when she asks money from you early in your relationship.

I'm not trying to bring down Filipinas. I'm a Pinay as well. It's just that facts show that there are A LOT who use American citizens to gain access to the US. She may stay with you, but that doesn't mean she's in love with you. If she is a well-educated person, it will show in her attitude towards the relationship. Oh well, just my opinion. Not meaning to disrespect anyone.

Hope everything works out well for you and your girlfriend. Posted Image

i have not scheduled my USEM interview. actually, based on the email from NVC, my interview schedule would be on June 11 at 6:30am. do i still need to call the USEM to confirm that date?

I don't know if you have to call still, but just in case, have it confirmed. then you can have your medical exam as early as now. come early! i got to SLMCEC at 4:30AM but got number 27! bring magazines or anything to read since it can get really boring waiting for your name to be called.

PhilippinesSt. Luke’s Medical Exam Walkthrough

Hi, i'm a newbie here. I find this topic very informative. thanks for the posts!

i have received an email from NVC last May 13 regarding my scheduled interview on June. I've read some of the posts here and please correct me if i am wrong, i can have my medical exam taken just by bringing the email from NVC. because i've read somewhere that i need to also bring the NOA.

what is NOA (NOA1 and NOA2)? is this the notice of action? i can't seem to recall having received this document. As i recall, these are the only documents my wife received from NVC:
a. document stating to pay the application processing fee of $400 and affidavit of support fee of $70
b. document stating the interview date at the embassy

is it advisable to wait for the visa packet before having my medical exam? the guard at the information booth said at st luke's that's it's ok to just bring the letter from NVC. and is it ok if i will proceed to the medical exam three weeks before my scheduled interview?

have you scheduled you USEM interview? i guess three weeks is more that enough. i scheduled mine 2 weeks before my interview.
