United KingdomPriority Date?!

My fiance and I have submitted all of the paperwork necessary in order to receive the interview from the embassy.  We understand that it takes 6 weeks to receive the scheduled interview, however, what about the priority date?  Ours is next Friday.  Is this just what date you must have all your information in by or is it when your interview has to be scheduled by?  We appreciate all the help!

United KingdomInterview Date....the waiting game

Please don't panic - there is no need.  This is a simple situation that the US Embassy in London have sen many times - especially recently, as there have been delays in getting interview date sin London.

Yes - you do need to do this even if all your forms are with the Embassy.  He takes the letter with him to the interview, as Nich-Nick stated above.

Many thanks!!! Its been such a long process for us.  We started everything in March of 2013 and are just ready to be in the same country :)

Both you and Nich-Nick have been very helpful, thank you!

As Nich-Nick says, you just need a letter from your fiance/fiancee with a wet signature saying that they intend to marry you with 90 days of you entering the US on your K1 visa.  This letter has to be notarized - their bank should do that for free.  Get this done now and mailed to the UK ASAP - normal mail should get it to you in a week.

It's just that it will be past 4 months from your NOA2 date.  They just have to be certain that the petitioner is still on side with everything.

We should do this even if all of our information is in to the embassy (DS-260, medical exam etc...)?

When I do send out the letter, does it get sent to him or the embassy?

Thanks so much for everyone's help! We are starting to go into panic mode....

Jamie and Micha--

Make a timeline so we can get an idea of where you are in the process. Did you read the London instruction letter and submit your visa application to London prior to the medical? Instructions http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

Did your instruction letter mention that if you haven't accomplished getting the visa before your priority date, they require a notarized letter from the US fiancé saying he/she is free to marry and intends to marry the beneficiary within 90 days of entering g the US on a K1 visa. That needs to be mailed snail mail to the UK fiance.so get going on it.

The priority date is four months after your petition approval. Look at your NOA2. It says it expires on [date]. Take the notarized letter to the Interview and all is well.

Yes, we have read the instructions but everything is so confusing. All of our information is submitted and we are waiting for the interview to be scheduled but our priority date expires in 10 days.  Does this affect the paperwork?

Anna-

Do you happen to know what the priority date is? Like JamieCambs said, our priority date is in 10 days, however, all of our information has only been sent in about 5 days ago.  With this priority date, will we have to start over? All very confusing, thanks for the help!
