I went in there and waited for 5 min and got my passport with the stamp back, then i picked up my baggage and went on the next flight, everything took me about 35 min. I was so happy that finally something went smooth and Mel came to pick us up with roses, he gave my daughter white ones and i had red ones very sweet of him. We had to get married earlier than planed because his job is sending him on a trip sometime next week, so we got married on march 14th. It was just us and my little girl but it was very nice, tomorrow we are going to pick up the pictures, i cant wait to see them. After the wedding we went to the SSN office to apply for the SSN number, we also had the marriage cert with us but they didnt want to put my new name on it. They said they will make it in my maiden name and i should come back later to get it changed. My daughter couldnt get a SSN because she doesnt have a work authorization. They told us to file the Forms either I-766 or I-688B but we couldnt get those forms from no where. We tried to make an infopass to go to local office but it is saying on their website that there is no appointment in order to get forms. Now i am confused, i dont know how to get my little girl a SSN. Maybe one of you guys knows what i have to do or what i can do. However its good to be back and i am very happy for all the approvals, medicals and interviews that are coming up. You are not responsable for my feelings so you dont have to appologize because you are going through such a nightmare. I feel so bad because i know what it means to be waiting for good news. The whole process is just unfair to many people and thats the sad part of it. As already said, everything happens for a reason. Who knows why things are happening the way they are? God surely has a great plan for you and Oscar so try to focus on the day you will kiss him at the airport and welcome him home. Take heart and stay strong, you will be rewarded by the grace of God! When i was waiting for my approval, i could not understand why i had to go through this. But now i am glad i went through it, the whole process tought me a few things in life. I learned how to be patient, i learned how to axcept things that i can not change and i learned how to focus on the happy end of whatever i want to do and not the things that might go wrong. Lora, you also will see some good in this once the pain goes down a little bit and i am sure Oscar will do the same just keep the faith! Thank you guys for all the wishes! You get touches when somebody had touched your application, either just moved it from one desk to the other or worked on it. You will receive an email when they make a decision but some people dont even receive an email about a decision, they might just send you a mail. They could say that you have to wait 60 days for a service request but before that, they will have to look at your case and by then they might be able to tell you something. It can not hurt to ask, when you call you just have to tell them that you have filed in May and still no answer dont say anything about the RFE. Let them at least look into the system. Good luck! I read that some sent back all the forms with the checklist and some sent back only the checklist to the embassy. Whats the best thing to do? Do I just wait for the embassy to send me the next packet? Or is it NVC who sends it to me? You'll get a letter from NVC in a few days letting you know they have your petitioon and that they're sending it to the Embassy in London. Then the embassy will send your fiance Packet 3, with a list of forms he must complete and some documents that need to be gathered. You'll need to complete the I-137 Affidavit of Support and get the supporting docs for that. Also, if your fiance hasn't ordered his police certificate yet, now would be a really good time to do so as it takes about 40 dyas to get! There's lots of info in the UK forum, so you might want to pop in there and check it out! THANKS EVERYONE!!!!! WHAT A RELIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Darren already had ordered his police certificate and should be getting it this week. I had already completed the I-137 when I started the process so that is all done as well.
