National Visa Center (Dept of State)Why late? Approved on Nov 1, Now what?
My PD is May 16, 2013 and according to December visa bulletin its Current. My wife is PR and my case got approved on 1st Nov, 2013. Its been 44 days (30+ business days) still no mail frm NVC abt acceptance. When called to USCIS they tell to call NVC, when called to Nvc they tell to wait til 25th Dec. I saw others timelime where Nvc issued case number in 30-35 days after its approval. Is anything wrong in my case?

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Interview at NVC stage of process? (split topic)

You should submit this stuff with the civil docs during NVC intake. It'll get added to the casefile.

Bringing it in to interview day is way too late, a Vice-Consul only haves 3 to 5 minutes during the interview to make a decision.

Prior to the interview, the Vice-Consul reviews the casefile, and makes some decision about the adjudication result. Having this evidence in the casefile is best.

Nota.Bene.: Video tapes, electronic media, are not allowed as evidence. Suggest you make some screen shots of that video, highlighting the important bits, and then include the screen shots into NVC as part of your evidence pile.

mate I have printed out every thing.... thanks

its almost 45 days of approval no response from both in my case

Ours took about 2 weeks.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)High Risk Countries! Submission of more Relationship Evidence at NVC stage!!!

In my case, we sent our marriage certificate together with the i-130 and for supporting evidence we included our children's birth certificates.

For the NVC stage, we just sent the affidavit of support documents and my (beneficiary) civil documents.

For the interview I will bring family/wedding pictures, money remittance receipts, chat/email conversations and Skype video call logs/screenshots.

Hey apple i got a problem. I have every proof u mentioned in your quote. The real problem is i got married twice with the same person. I mean Court Marriage on 17th January and coz of some people saying US doesnt gives much priority to Court marriage thats why while Court Marriage process was going on, we married according to Nepali culture on 10th January. According to rule in Nepal abt Court Marriage the process takes around 16-18 days. We submitted the Certificate of Court Marriage to USCIS and it got approved aswel. As a proof should we show the photos and videos of our mariage ceremony held in 10th January? The date is printed in photos n videos....

National Visa Center (Dept of State)High Risk Countries! Submission of more Relationship Evidence at NVC stage!!!

Hi all,

"Front loading" is a phrase i have come across a lot of times on VJ. It basically means submitting so many relationship documents at the petition submission stage. (I-130) as opposed to taking them with you on the interview day.  For example, email logs, chat logs, phone call logs , wedding pictures, etc

"High Risk Countries" are supposed to be countries with high risk of fraud. Countries like Nigeria and other west and east African countries. Someone mentioned China, India and Vietnam too.

"Red Flag"  is another phrase i have seen which means suspicion of spurious relationship between the petitioner and beneficiary. High indicators can be Age difference, racial difference, number of visit times and the list goes on and on.

I have been reading a lot about this front loading theories. Sadly we didn't submit much with the I-130, only copy of marriage certificate, change of name notification, 3 wedding pictures with both set of parents and that's all. We did not put chat logs, phone logs or email logs, even though we have 3 years Phone, Facebook and Skype logs. Just did not think it fit to put them. Now the petition is at NVC and we are about to send in the AOS package, do you think it would be awkward to send relationship evidence at this stage?

I do not think we have any red flag as the age difference is 5yrs, beneficiary is Nigerian, petitioner is a Nigerian with US LPR and has visited Nigeria 3 times in 3yrs. The only thing that may raise flags is lack of relationship evidence in my own opinion. What do you make of it? Do we go ahead and put this evidence at NVC stage?

Thanks for your anticipated comments.

Cheers!

Dont worry mate. My wife is 10 year seniour than me. We had 5 year long relationship n we got married this January. Those proof of relationship r needed on interview of benificiary. Just include letters, chat and email history, phone records, photos of your marriage and dates, mariage certificate, gifts, cards and other papers which can proov that u both were in relationship.... Other depends upon them.

It varies from case to case. At the current rate, it's taking longer for approvals to come through. Expect between 4-10 months more or less.

My Pd is may 15 2013.... Approved November 1. Nvc issued number on Dec 15..... IV fee paid Jan 22. What next? When will nvc ask for the document?

You can only send additional documents if they send you a RFE.

Did you send W-2's with the tax returns?

Thank you very much for your reply,

Hi every one,

I am new to this forum. I joined today. Greetings to all of you.

I mailed my I-751 already. I mailed 2010 and 2011 tax returns (e-filed returns). I did not mail tax transcripts. I read that this may not be appropriate as tax transcripts are essential. Is this true? has anyone submitted only tax returns and not transcripts. Please let me know.

Can I send the transcripts (which I will get next week)in a seperate mail. Will it get to my packet of documents or will it get lost. Please let me know,

Hi everyone,
I sent my I-751 packet on the 16th of April. It reached vermont center on the 18th, 12.07 PM. I am awaiting NOA letter. I was just wondering if it is appropriate for me to expect the letter today. Will they send it by priority mail or simple mail? Please let me know your thoughts. I have just received an offer for a job but acceptance of which is conditional on NOA. I am scared as each day is important because of the competition for jobs.

Our NOA was dated November 10th, and our biometrics appointment was December 30th. We didn't try a walk-in, because it's nearly a two hour drive each way for us, and we didn't want to get turned away. We did show up about an hour early, and they acted like they couldn't care less, so my impression was that they'd do walk-ins no problem. But don't quote me on that.

Thank you for your reply. I sincerely appreciate your help. Could you please let me know when you received your bio letter?

Hi Leo,

Good luck with your application.

I just filed my I-751 and hence please cross check with others before taking my advice.

I sent only tax returns and did not include tax transcripts. But I think tax transcripts are considered more authentic and hence are better. I will include both tax transcripts and complete tax returns to be on the safer side as RFE is not a happy occurance and would love to have my petition approved without RFE.

People who have filed only tax returns have been asked to submit tax transcripts while others have been approved with just tax returns. So it is all left to the IO reviewing your application. Better play it safe and send everything

1) I will have to do my Bio at the Baltimore Field office. Is this office known to be slow in scheduling appointments. Anybody among Feb, march or April filers at Baltimore, have you received biometrics letter. If so please let me know your time line and when you received the letter.
2) I am shifting to PA by end of June. When do you think I should notify an address change and how soon do they update it to their system.
3) In case I dont receive biometrics before I shift to PA will this delay bio appointment further? will I finger print in PA or Baltimore?
Please let me know.

Hi Catknit,

Thank you for your reply,

I have filed ROC with Baltimore address.

But my question is, may sound silly, but I searched google and it says if I dont file change of address within 10 days of changinmg my address it is a deportable offence. But it also says USCIS has never implemented this. I am just scared since I did not file change of address 2 years ago will this come as an issue when they review my application even when they determine sending biometrics appointment.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionChanging address
Hi every one,

I am from India. I was approved for CR-1 (conditional permanant resident) at Chennai, India. I had given my father-in-laws address at Florida as mailing address during this process.

When my green card was approved and when I first came to the US, I never went to Florida but landed in Baltimore with my wife since job was in Baltimore. I never ever went to Florida, though the mailing address they had on file was Florida. USCIS sent my green card to Florida.

Should I have submitted an address change request when I entered US and landed in Baltimore? did I do a mistake by not filing it? I did not know I had to do it

Now I have filed ROC (I0751) from Baltimore. I have received NOA but still awaiting biometrics appointment. Will my not filing address change 2 years ago come up as an issue now. Please let me know.

I would like to know how long it was likely to take in the past. I would really appreciate it if anybody with the same expereince could share the story. My local office is Maryland.

Thank you very much for reading. Good luck for everybody on ROC!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionROC AND CHANGE OF ADDRESS
Hi Nyosh,

I am planning to change my address. When I read the instructions for address change in the USCIS website it said we have to change our address at 2 places. Here is the extract from USCIS website.

Have any pending OR recently approved applications or petitions (except for VAWA, T or U visa); you need to complete two steps:

Step1: File Form AR-11 (online OR by mail),
AND
Step 2: Change your address on any pending or recently approved applications or petitions (online OR by phone at 1-800-375-5283)
Use our convenient Online Change of Address system to complete steps 1 and 2 at the same time. Once you complete Form AR-11 online - the system will also provide you the opportunity to change your address on any pending or recently approved applications. If you use our Online Change of Address to complete Form AR-11, you do NOT need to file a paper Form AR-11.[/b]

http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD
The link to this. Hence you should change your adress in 2 places.

I think you changed address in 1 place and did not in the other. This is the confusion.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWhat happens after service request for biometrics

You've only been waiting 27 days, which is within the normal waiting times, so I am surprised that they would raise a service request at this time. Normally you would have to wait until after 30 days has passed.

They asked you all those questions to verify your identity and that the information they have is correct. They may send you an email in a few days responding to your request. I had to wait over 2 weeks for a letter.

Yes, I told them it has been just 27 days. After seeing my records they said there was no sign of an attempt to schedule a bio appointment. So they said it makes no difference to wait for 3 more days to make it 30 days. Hence, they registered the service request. I did not request for one.

Hi all,

I mailed my ROC packet on the 16th of April 2012 and received NOA on the 23rd dated 19th of April 2012. It has been 1 month since I filed my ROC but I havent yet received my biometrics appointment.

I called USCIS today and placed a service request for biometrics appointment. I will go for bio at Baltimore center. Please guide me as to what will happen now. When the service request was recorded they asked me complete details of my name, date of birth, address, pin code, phone, email, mailing address etc. Did they not have these already?
Now what will happen? will I get an email typically or will I get a land mail.

Thank you all for taking time to reply.
