Hello my fellow VJ's. First of all I would like to say thank you KUDOS good.gif for all your help and support you have given me when I was still a 'babe' in this website (I still am) ahihi I really appreciate it very much. If it wasn’t for all of YOU (you know who you are) and this website it would be a hard time for me so thank you from the bottom of my hypothalamus! I've learned and discovered a lot of things here that I never thought I can accomplish star_smile.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif It's better to ask even sometimes you may sound stupid and silly but hey I'd rather be "Makulit" and be ignorant. I can say that, all the interview experiences are exactly the same from what I’ve read here once you're inside the Manila Embassy (though we have different cases and consuls) you won't be scared at all (well, not really!) you will know exactly what's going to happen, what to do, where to go and what to expect.

Last Friday, October 23rd was my interview and I was in the exact place from where you've been, maybe the one reading this right now is at the same spot from where I was seated. Isn't that amazing?! ohmy.gif While I was there waiting for my name to be called or my number flash on the screen. I can imagine ALL your interview stories even the "Masungit" pre-screeners, I was thinking… hey maybe that's the one they're talking about haha.. tongue_ss.gif even the consuls.. But thanked God I have none of those wheeEeew! I wanted to tell you what happened the moment I stepped inside the Manila embassy but you already told everyone here. good.gif The procedures are pretty much the same. I had my interview with this young American handsome guy and it was very pleasant more like of a casual conversation and just like everyone else I was so nervous, anxious to get inside that sliding door. Once the door opened I felt my heart.gif dropped on the floor haha and I just wanted to disappear and be in another time, place or planet… anywhere but here crying.gif I said to myself.. I felt all my insides were turned upside down. I don’t know if I was sweating or it’s just the cold air-conditioned room that makes it even colder bbbbrrrrrr! My number flashed at the end of the final interview room (I forgot the room number sorry) and to my surprise there are actually 2 consuls inside that room.. I was interviewed on the right side which is not really a good idea for the embassy to do because you can hear everything from the other side that makes it even harder to concentrate on your own interview. But hey the consul I had was handsome enough to get my attention tongue.gif haha there’s nothing he will ask that you cannot answer cause its all about YOU and your PETITIONER .. basic questions like…

Randomly…

Your name, age, birthday…
When, where, how did you meet..
Who’s your petitioner..
What does he do for a living..
Petitioner’s age, birthday..
Ask about the pictures..
When, where you got married..
How many times your petitioner visited you in Phils..
Just looking at the cards but not e-mails nor chat print outs..

I also brought with me tons of evidences though the consul didn’t really check most of the documents I gave the pre-screener (just in case they need some more proof of our relationship.. its better to be ready than regret it and be sorry just like what most VJ’s will advise you..

To make the story long, este short hehe .. I have anticipated those magic words “Your petition has been approved” the reason why I was expecting it is that I was prepared and gave them all the exact documents they required from “us”.. you really have to give those 'EXACT' documents that they’re looking for..

like…

NBI
NSO MC, BC
CENOMAR
I-134 AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT
PETITIONER’S EMPLOYMENT LETTER
W2’S, 1040, paystubs..
Cards, letters, e-mail, chats..

After that.. the consul will ask you to go to the releasing area.. sit down for a while.. relax.. chill.. and wait for your name to be called and not your number cause this time you won’t be needing it anymore but keep it for souvenir..

Mine was 7001… yes.gif

once you heard your name, stand up or I might as well run for it hehe.. and take your “PINK SLIP” and pay AIR21 (P205)for your visa to be delivered..

So right now.. I’m just waiting for my visa to arrive so that I can be with my husband in no time luv.gif .. mahal, thank you for all your support.. I love you more..

walking out of the embassy makes me wonder with a lot of things.. how many people have been there.. their own personal stories/experiences and it fascinates me.. I try to seize the moment, I want to capture every detail of it.. I was walking real slow looking around the embassy.. observing..

I took my final step out of that exit steal door that is kinda rusty and that doesn’t rotate anymore when you push it haha… (you have to make some extra effort/strength in doing so or else you’ll be stuck there forever) haha then I thank the lady guard and said goodbye…

Finally I was out of the embassy but lost for a while cause I don’t know how to get home.. going there caused me P300 for a cab I wanted to save money for the transportation and P300 is a lot for me tongue.gif hehe.. so I just keep walking asking the vendors how to get to EDSA.. so I took a jeepney going to Cubao but then it was really a “Hot Sunny Friday Morning” that’s why I transferred to an FX..

once I paid the driver I fell asleep tongue_ss.gif hahha.. then I woke up cause there’s no more passenger but me at that time.. I started to feel so tired maybe from all the 3 months preparations, stressed that it caused me.. but HEY, HEY, HEY it’s worth it I’m telling you!!

Til we meet again…

And oh.. I almost forgot..

I want to thank my CREATOR, my GOD…

rose.gif Lord Father God. I thank you for all the hardships I’ve been through.. it made me appreciate what I have right now because YOU taught me so well. Thank YOU for not leaving me in times of desperation. May this experience keep my feet on the same ground as I was before… Sorry, if sometimes (or most of the times) I doubted YOU sad.gif for questioning YOU sad.gif for not simply trusting YOU sad.gif I’m not proud of it… I praise YOU cause YOU alone deserves the highest praise… THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH!!! I DECLARE GOOD THINGS TO COME, PROTECTION & PROSPERITY FOR YOUR KINGDOM’S SAKE & PURPOSE.. FOR EACH AND EVERYONE OF US HERE… LET YOUR MERCY AND LOVE heart.gif ENDURETH FOREVER AND EVER AMEN… I LOVE YOU!!!

Your daughter,

Stellar8

congrats!!! God is really good...

Copies are fine, however, he should be submitting his 2008 tax returns, which should of been filed all ready.

You should have the 1040/w-2/1099(as applicable) to go with the I-134.

HEY tenks for the reply it will really helps.. yeah i already have everything with me... but to be sure of it so i posted here for other opinion... thanks... plz help me pray for my interview on JUNE 15 7am tnx agen

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview and document questions
wow congrats...!!!1st u need to collect those documents (like the one u send when you file for the K1) then send it to her. The affidavit of support would be the I-134 the I-864

will be the one to use if she's applying for AOS already. If everything were already complete then tell her to call for her interview date. Sometimes they ask you when u want

to have it and let you know if that date would be available if not they will give you the available date to choose from. In my case I did the medical exam 1st to be sure then

when they (St. Lukes) told me that everything were fine right ahead i call to sched my interview. it's still up to you guys if you do the scheduling 1st.

one more thing her cenomar and birth certificate does she have it in hand? if she's planning to get one in NSO, Quezon City it took couple of days before they release esp. the

CENOMAR . So I hope she have it before her interview. Hope I was able to help

Nice thread... Things I've done/accomplished so far!
- Im finally with my Honey! (i think that's the best thing ive done!)
- Done with our rehearsal dinner, gorgeous wedding and honeymoon in Florida (Florida Keys and Disney world)
- Got my SSN, and applied for my AOS, EAD and Travel permit.
- Got my health insurance
- AED and travel permit approved
- Still waiting for my GC
- Reviewed and Took the Kaplan complete course (for my NCLEX-RN) met new friends and professors
- Passed my NCLEX-RN (Finally a registered nurse here in NY)
- Now, reviewing for my learners permit and looking for a nice car
- Doing certifications like BLS/AED, etc.
- Looking for jobs, which is hard to do esp with the economy! sad.gif
- Shopping, shopping and shopping since winter is coming. Hanging out with my family, hubby's family and friends while i still have all the free time
- Travelling with hubby and now we're preparing for our trip to Arizona this November
- And no babies yet for us! We want to enjoy everything first as a couple.smile.gif

Lot's of things but for me getting a job will be one of the best! lol;p

And girls, I have a question did u informed the Philippine embassy that you are already married. I remembered that during the CFO seminar they told us to forward it for records but I almost forgot about it. So i want to know if anyone done that already? And also, did you already mailed the survey letter that we're supposed to mail to CFO about our status here? and has anyone here changed their Philippine passport already. Thanks.

there's a lot of job all over!!! Especially we (nurses) here. work wer already waiting for me too bad need to wait for the reciprocity of my license but hopefully it will not took that long co'z i wanna work already. With regarding the CFO thing I can't remember were I out those stuff they gave to us. and the reporting of marriage you could have it before your 1st wedding anniversary took place. Tho i haven't done with it I checked their website for information. and when you do the reporting of marriage then at the same time you could have your passport changed then.

Hmmmmmm..... first.... having babies is a choice.... and doesn't come naturally because you always have things around to not get pregnant.

Anyway... I am so happy that you guys doing great here.

To those who took examination for professional certification.... Are you familiar with the examination for professional engineer here? as well as professional energy management? I mean, what are the requirements for those examination?

My husband and I wanted to take an examination. But our problem is my credentials, I heard that I need to have it converted to US standard.

Please be free to give "sensible" suggestions.

Maybe same as in nursing. I too need to send course syllabus, TOR to have it breakdown for a credential evaluation report and the Filipino subjects we had in Phils. must be translated to english. It's so time consuming and lot's of paper works to do but i hope soon I will receive my license... blush.gif

Hi! I am thinking of asking some people who just recently moved here in US, what make you busy guys?

Share your experiences and thoughts. It would be nice to know that how we are starting to adapt life here, and making ourselves comfortable with our life in our new environment.

heart.gif tongue.gif biggrin.gif wink.gif cool.gif heart.gif

To start of....... luv.gif

Currently, I am waiting for my green card. After I got my EAD card, I changed my name in my SSN, and took exam for learner's permit (driving). My husband is patiently teaching me on how to drive here. But will get few hours instruction from driving school here afterwards.

I want to know how to drive around here as soon as possible because we live in suburban area which have roughly public transportation. Also, so that I could find jobs to start of which are near to our place without bugging my husband (he needs to take an off from work). I always wanted to work in a coffee house. laughing.gif I wanted to know how to make good coffee because I love coffee.

Anyway, while waiting to accomplish those things, at the moment I make myself busy by making reviewer for me and my husband in getting professional certification.

What makes me busy???
>Last month we went for a two weeks vacation in California. Enjoying Los Angeles, Hollywood, Disneyland, played casino in Las Vegas, got the chance to see the great Golden Bridge and ate their best sourdough in San Francisco. As of these days done the written exam in driving moving for the manual exam already. I'm already driving on the busy street and on expressway with my father-in law every night whenever his going to work and my hubby will be out then in an hour from work. They go on same place of work. While waiting for the reciprocity of my license here so I could start to work then, got time to chat with my friends on the phone and surfing the net. Regarding my case so far no follow-up info yet right after the biometric but its okay. I used to do now cooking which I never know since I was young jejeje.

hello fellow Vj'er... My friend is from Philippines but he's on UK now. His fiance were going to file for K1 visa for him and wants him to go back to Philippines. But my friend is on a 2yrs contract in UK. So his asking me if he could just stay in UK and wait for his papers there. i hope someone could share some info regarding this thanks a lot.

Just so he can get all the required paperwork from PI for the interview he should be OK. Needs NBI clearance, CENOMAR, valid passport and NSO BC.
Police clearance from UK shouldn't be a problem.

well guys thanks a lot for the info... but my friend is not a citizen of UK he just work there so does that matter then?. I appreciate all the info...
