UPDATE:

USCIS case status says they ordered production of my new card on january 29th.

I have been waiting for more than 13 months and a half... I am still skeptical, I'm waiting until I get the green card in my hands and then I will believe it...

You can put your anger back into the box and prepare for a long wait - Nebraska claimed one month ago to work on application from 1/27/07. Two of the folks here sent their applications before that and haven't said anything yet about receiving GC or RFE. My application was officially received on 2/1/07 at NSC, and I haven't heard anything either. I see the long waiting as just compensation for having paid the lower fee before this year's fee changes. That doesn't mean I am not feeling your frustration, too, but, more than a fast adjucation, I wish us both a positive one.


NSC are liars. I wonder if anyone is still working on I-751 out there. Today is the first anniversary since i sent the I-751. Yeeeepeeee!!!!

Didn't you file in Nebraska, too? The processing timeframe for I-751 there is 03-Jan-07, as of 15-Oct-07. You should have received either an RFE or an approval notice by now. Sorry to hear that you have not.

If your case is common, I might not get my card before Christmas as I expected :-(my NOA arrived on 26-Feb-07)

Thank you, ives damian! I would be happy to share my experience. My appointment was at noon and I arrived an hour early at the Los Angeles field office. There were only a handful of people waiting to be interviewed. The IO was nice and quite chatty. I was sworn in and she asked to see my driver's license and green card. That is all the documents she wanted to see. She then asked me to write a simple sentence..."I have a black dress". She went over my application rather quickly and asked where I lived, how many years I've lived in this country, my occupation, how many days I was out of the country during the past 5 years, what is my husband's occupation and where he was born, how many marriages my husband had and how long I've been married. Then she asked all the "Part 10. Additional Questions" on the application...Have you ever claimed to be a U.S. citizen, have you ever registered to vote in any Federal, state or local election in the U.S., etc.

As for the Civics test, she gave me a list of 10 questions to read aloud and to answer.

1) Who said, "Give me libery or give me death"?
2) Name some countries that were enemies during WW2?
3) What was the 49th state added to our union?
4) Who makes the Federal law in the U.S.?
5) Who is the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court?
6) Why did the Pilgrims come to America?
7) What is name of the President's official home?
8) How many changes or amendments are there to the Constitution?
9) What do the stripes on the flag represent?
10) What were the original 30 States?....I was asked to skip this question.

The IO congratulated me on passing the interview, gave me the N-652 form and told me to wait for the approval letter. The interview was over before I knew it! I did not know about signing my photograph at the interview until I started reading this forum. BTW, thank you for replying to my question. I will wait for them to contact me on this issue.

I applied for my US passport at my local post office the day of my oath.
I received my passport today IT ONLY TOOK 10 DAYS with routine service, I didn't even pay for expedite service. good.gif

when you downloaded the form from USCIS before the form to fill in there are guidelines telling you about the form ....

go to page 3...it is a $275 fee now $205 for application and $70 for biometrics fee..one check

On page 3 of the form (what is the fee?) it states $205, and on the website it states $275 and also $70 for fingerprint fees so im still confused...

I sent my petition on Dec 19 to NSC and today I received 2 letters from NSC: the NOA stating that my green card is extended for one year and also an ASC appointment notice for january 20, 2007. :thumbs:

Mailed the packet today, Monday, 12/18/2006, to CSC. What about that timing, huh? I picked the busiest mail day in the busiest mail week of the year. With luck we'll hear something by Easter.
From now on I will not only be an nscvet but a calvet as well. I wonder if I can find a way to send something to the other two centers?

Where in the 1-751 instructions does it say they have to be notarized?
It suggest them being sworn to, but not notarized. I did not get my letters notarized, and many others have not either with no problems with approval.


I didn't notarized them either. This is not required.

The end of the process??... I hope you know that after the biometrics taken, your petition has to be approved, and the entire process takes an average of 8-9 months?

We filed on Jan 17 and we are finished with the I-751 process. It was approved on March 16 & received green card on March 20. Your case is very long.




NO, her or his case is not "very long". Nebraska usually process the I-751 within 8 months.

After the biometrics, you won't get any notice until they approve your case.
