Me n my fiance got approval for our K1 visa processing on May 7th 2013. And we are waiting for further proceedings. Actually I have one doubt regarding the submission of affidavit of support. My fiance,who is the petitioner, says that she didnt submitted the affidavit of support when she filed our I-129f. Her understanding is that, NVC will provide the affidavit of support form once the packet reaches NVC from uscis and asks us to fill and return it back to NVC. Kindly help us to know where we need to submit the affidavit of support form?(@ NVC or @ the time of my counsilate interview). From where we can get the form. Also if I submit the form at the time of interview, will that make any problem. Please guide us...

In that letter, at the left bottom following details are mentioned

Now comes my query : Here the date " 12 JUL 1970" means what?

 

Is that represent my date of birth?

 

As per my understanding, that date represents DATE OF BIRTH, but my date of birth is 7 DEC 1987. 

 

So when my fiance filled the DOB, she filled as 07/12/1987(dd/mm/yyyy). But the american standard is mm/dd/yyyy.So I believe they interpreted 7/12/xxxx as july-12-xxxx

 

Even then also the year they represented is wrong. Mine is 1987 and they mentioned as 1970.

 

So what I need to do?

 

Do I need to correct this?

 

To whom I need to contact? (at NVC or local embassy office)

 

Pls help me on this.... :-((

I got my interview appointment letter and in that they asked me to create a profile online. Actually I have a query regarding the online profile creation. While creating the profile, they are asking me to fill  priority date..

 

Priority date means what? Date of interview or Date my fiance filed the case in USCIS.

Normally, the I-134 is required for the K-1 visa. However, you should submit the form specifically requested by the Consulate. The U.S. Consulate will inform you about the list of forms and documents you need. If the consulate tells you to take I-864, then take I-864.

See I didnt get any packet3. I only got appointment letter. So in that case how can I know??

 

When I called the embassy people, they told to access the documents online through the site mentioned in the appointment letter.

Me n my fiance got RFE and the USCIS guys asked us to provide more proofs to prove our relationship. So my fiance called the USCIS customer care and they told us to submit 

 

a) Notarized Letter of intent to marry of mine.

b) Notarized Letter of intent to marry of my fiance.

c) Notarized letter of my father accepting our relationship.

d) Notarized letter of my fiances father accepting our relationship.

 

So guys its better to prepare these things. Even if they wont ask, you can keep this things at the time of interview so that it will help you at the interview time.

Hi All,

 

We got out approval of K1 visa on May 7 2013. Now we are waiting for the response from NVC. Actually we are in the third week of waiting. Bt in the VJ, its showing that many people got response within a week from NVC. Do we need to do anything? Whom we need to contact to get furhter details? Two day back, my fiance called NVC and USCIS, they said that it will take 3 weeks for the docs to reach NVC and for the response from NVC. Please help us on this...

Hi All,

 

MY interview is on july 9th 2013 @ Mumbai. I already prepared a checklist of items that I need to be submitted @ Mumbai. 

 

Guys please see the below checklist and let me know if anything additional I need to carry/ anything I need to remove from my file...

(I havent got packet 3 or any checklist. I got an appointment letter only)

 

The list is mentioned in the order I kept things in my file. So guys please verify and let me know if any corrections needed.

 

1. My Passport.

2. My Photos as per US standards.

3. Appointment Letter.

4. Reply mail from embassy which I got when I registered case against the incorrect DATE OF BIRTH in my appointment letter. 

5. Pickup Location form (Form obtained after completing the online profile creation).

6. Two filled DS - 156 forms with photos.

7. One filled DS - 156 K form.

8. One filled DS - 230 Part 1 and Part 2 form (In the embassy site, they didnt mentioned about DS - 230 Part 2. Do I need to remove it??).

9. My BIRTH CERTIFICATE ORGINAL and one photocopy.

10.Proof Of Relationship DOCS :

     a). Notarized FIANCE LETTER OF INTENT (mine------------>          orginal submitted my fiance when we got RFE, now I am submitting the photocopy)

     b). Notarized FIANCE LETTER OF INTENT (my fiance`s---->                                                                    "                                                                    )

     c). Notarized PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP (statement from my father accepting the relationship --->        "                                                                    )

     d). Notarized PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP (statement from my father accepting the relationship --->        "                                                                    )

     e). Reason for submission of minimal document(fiance's---->                                                                    "                                                                    )

     f).  Photo copy of her AIR TICKET of last visit (NOV 17th to DEC 9th)

     g). Orginal Cash Receipt of the HALL where our engagement held.

     h). Engagement ring in my hand (But no bills)

     i). Hotel Bill of the Resort where we stayed together for 2 days.

      j). Hotel Bill of another resort where we stayed a day.

     k). Photo copy of fourteen calling cards which she used to call me recently (If she kept all the cards, it might be 100. But she doesn't have all the cards)

      l). Orginal Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate of mine to prove that we studied together from 2006 to 2010 for same course in same class.

     m). Photocopy of her Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate to proove that we studied together from 2006 to 2010 for same course in same class.

     n). A photo album containing pics of me,my parents, sister and neice visiting her home before engagement, our engagement pics with relatives and friends, pics of us when we stayed in the first resort, pics of us and her sister and husband when we four stayed in the second resort. Total 92 photos.

     o). Police Clearance Certificate from SP office.

     p). Police Clearance Certificate from passport office.

     q). Sealed Medical Report and X- ray.

     r). Receipt from Bank.

     s). Affidavit of support I-134 signed by my fiance.

     t). Photocopy of her birth certificate to show that she is a U.S citizen.

    u). Photocopy of her passport.

    v). Photocopy of her OCI card (Overseas Citizen Of India).

    w). My fiance's EMPLOYMENT LETTER with four recent PAY STUBS

    x) Income tax return and W-2 forms of my fiance for the year 2011 and 2012.

 

 

Guys I hope my arrangements are correct. Please give me your valuable suggestions.

just an update guys! My fiancee emailed USEM about the above subject and below is their reply :)

 

"You may submit a signed notarized letter from the other parent allowing the child to travel. The adjudicating consular officer determines if additional document is necessary as the application is processed."

Thanks for the input Hank! :) My fiancee has been travelling abroad as a tourist with her kids 3 times already but not here in US yet tho.  She didn't encounter any problem for bringing her kids, no travel consent needed in airport immigration at all. We asked our lawyer for the Sole Custody and it will take another 9 months to 1 year process  :( I do really love to bring my fiancee & together with her kids here in US with me.  We only want to know if there's a any standard format of Consent to Travel from Other Parent from US Embassy?  As our lawyer is asking for it... if none... our lawyer is willing to prepare one for us so her ex-husband could sign it.

Yeah, we don't have problem with DSWD & Immigration in the Philippines. But when my fiance called to US Embassy a month ago, the Consent to Travel from Other Parent is needed and better to prepare during the interview. Our laywer is asking if there's any standard format from US Embassy... which we are not sure. She was trying to call the US Embassy in the Philippines but no luck to talk someone yet...

Hi, my fiancée in the Philippines has two minor children. We're preparing our fiancée visa application so she can come to the US and would like to know if there's a standard format for the Consent to Travel form for their Dad to sign so they can join us too. We understand that we'll need their Dad's consent for them to immigrate to the US. We'll get their visa application going as well, of course.

Any help you can give us is greatly appreciated.

Hi All,

 

Atlast my case reached embassy(bombay) and i got the case number on may23rd.... 

 

Again I am here with many doubts... And its mainly regarding the packet 3 and packet 4...

 

Pls let me know what is this packet 3 and 4 means...?

 

What all things does it contain?

 

How long will it take to get intimation about my interview date(I know it will take 60 to 70 days from NOA2 date)?

 

What all docs I need to prepare at this point?

 

Hoping to get many replies asap!!!

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Administrative Processing......from Philippines , how long it will take?

My dad interview was may 12 the consul says its approve but missing some document the cenomar and nbi letter of explanation..send the cenomar the same day interview via 2go and the guy from releasing area said that he doesnt have to go to nbi coz the nbi will directly send the letter to usem and he said to just go home and wait for the visa within 2-4 days..its been 2 weeks and the status keeps updating to administrative processing and says to send documents via 2go..dont know what to do

Hi Journey31, I have same case just like your Dad. I had my interview on 05May, and until now my case status is AP. I got an email from USEM last 23May, they instructed me to go to NBI for interview for the Letter of Explanation. Since then, I havent heard anything from USEM. Btw, did your dad receive an instruction from USEM to go to NBI for interview?
