K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAnyone from CSC get a touch today?

No touches since 12 July...I guess they don't like me anymore!!

Don't feel bad, William! They apparently hate my guts :( Not only did they recall my petition sometime in mid-June with no explanation given, after fretting since May 5 when my fiance returned pkt 3 to the embassy in Paris and then not hearing anything from them after that, the first inkling I had that something was wriong was a cryptic email saying my petition had been "recieved" by USCIS. #######, man??? WHY???

No explanation of any kind, other than my case was "reopened" on a USCIS motion. Then the IMBRA RFE showed up July 5. I haven't been touched since July 12, the day after CSC acknowledged receipt (although they signed for it at 9:30 a.m. July 6) of their piddly, pathetic, for the most part useless, 3 question, totally non-applicable RFE. GRRRR!!! I Mean really, wouldn't it have been a tad more efficient and saved thousands of $$$ if the embassies of the affected petitions sent an email directly to the petitioners, and we could have downloaded the little 3 question form, filled it out, notarized it, whatever and sent it back? What Einstein is running this outfit, anyway? And adding insult to injury, big freakin deal if you have a March 6 "priority" date, doesn't mean a thing. I think mine maybe fell down between the wall and the back of somebody's desk or something, or it's buried at the bottom of the pile of all the May and June applications that are getting approved right and left. I guess there's some hope that if the new apps kee getting processed, mine will resurface sometime before the next spring thaw. GEEZ!!!

Liberty and JUSTICE for all? Apparently that basic precept has fallen by the wayside, along with the fundamental principle of innocent until proven guilty. As a law abiding taxpaying American citizen, I highly resent being treated FIRST as a potential criminal, who is forced to submit evidence demonstrating that in fact, that is not true - I am indeed innocent, guilty of no crime.

Sorry, I'm just losing more patience by the day. Congratulations to all who apparently have some better karma going or something. It's going on 3 months now that our process has been delayed due to a bureaucratic snafu. I work for local government, and in my agency, accountability to the taxpayers is taken seriously. Wish that were the case at the federal level.

I really feel horrible for you folks that had petitions re-called. I sincerely hope you receive an approval before I do, it is certainly warrented, and deserved

At this time yesterday, there were CSC approval threads rolling out every 20 minutes it seemed.
Hasnt ANYBODY recieved one today? Sounds like lots of touches for some, but who cares about that...its the NOA2 email we want! Did they decide to take the morning off? Been working too hard?

...looking forward to seeing some approval threads today soon!!!!!!!!!!!

If it makes you feel any better, they've been taking 15 days approximately to process RFEs at Vermont. Not bad.

Well you did just file at the beginning of the month. For CSC, 3-4 months would be typical (well before IMBRA anyway).

You filed at Vermont, so I seriously doubt it will take that long.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI have found the missing link!

I came to this conclusion after I was fortunate enough to take a tour of the CSC facilities, and see our finest, hard at work plugging away at our petitions. Frankly, I'm quite surprised we are not seeing a more massive amount of petitions being approved. I don't get it...

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, is that a romance novel on that guys desk?? See, they really do care about love!!!

I think so, and the guy below him has pictures of every couple he's approved in the past 2 years.... bless his heart

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI've lost hope

I've sent myself and my fiance an e-mail to be read in the future, using this site: http://www.futureme.org

I thought that it would be incredibly nice to get to some point in the future and get to read a desperate message from the past-me, or read about the plans I had made for the future and that will have become true by then. And then cry and laugh a little - the past me and the future me.

Just an idea. I found it to be a source of encouragement for me :)

That is great!! I will start doing that...hmm, what a great idea. Maybe I will send them over a period of time.

THANK YOU!

It is nice, isn't it? And you can't retrieve the e-mail - so, no cheating! :)

I did this once, sent myself a future email reminding me to feed my dog..... poor doggy :(

Were the June NOA1 Approvals from earlier recalls ? Or did they originally sent in I-129 in June??????????

If I remember correctly accourding to they're timeline, they originally submitted it in June.

No no, I asked you to touch me, not tell me you were touched  :P

Hey it's only fair. You've been touched three times since you sent the RFE back.

Yeah but I'm needy

vartan - I don't know what to think about the touches now because I was fondled and teased on the 26th and 27th. Just when we think CSC is going to start a pattern and get the ball rollin, they pull a fast on us. Where did they go? In one of william33's topics, I wrote that I might have perform some type of tribal dance to hopefully produce some approvals. We need a Jedi!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOk, who HASN'T gotten approved?

For the question about our RFE date, the received it and signed for it July 5th.

for some reason they seem to have missed you and gary. you two should have been processed last week based on the approval times i saw on another thread, where 6/7 jul was approved pretty much en masse last week.

Just for clarification, did the CSC receive/sign for it on the 5th? Or is that when you got a notice from the CSC saying they had received it?

Only reason I ask, is because the CSC received/signed for my RFE July 1st, but I did not get the update stating they had until July 10th. :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresbirth certifiacte matters?

How do you obtain a certified copy of a birth certificate?

If your talking about in the US, you can order them here http://www.vitalchek.com/

To the original poster, sorry I don't know if your trying to get a Birth Certificate for Japan, or Pakistan, but I hope this helps you.

I got this from the instruction sheet for the K1 Visa on the US Consulate Webpage for Japan.

UNOBTAINABLE BIRTH CERTIFICATES: If an official birth certificate is not obtainable, present the best possible secondary evidence, such as a timely registered baptismal certificate, hospital certificate, school records and/or a notarized affidavit from your parents. In general, we will not accept secondary evidence unless there is proof that an official birth record is unavailable from the issuing office.

Couldn't find anything in regards to getting a BC is Pakistan yet

Bingo!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of Having Met in Person in the Past Two Years

Erik: Hard evidence such as boarding passes, credit card receipts, and passport stamps are what is considered by USCIS to be Primary Evidence, since that establishes the timeframe that the two people have met.

Photos are considered Secondary Evidence, since it proves the people were in the same place at the same time long enough to have a photo taken together.

Together, they create a concrete picture to the Adjudicator that says "yes, we have met within the last two years."

People have been denied for not having enough Primary evidence, even though they've sent loads of pictures. The pictures merely proove you've met; not when.

Thanks!

Still doesn't make sense to me (but what does with the USCIS  ). I know pictures don't tell you when the two people where together, but neither does a boarding pass, passport stamp, etc. I mean, technically I could go to Brasil for a week, then return, then meet my future wife online the week after and when I apply just say, well here's my boarding pass, etc etc. to Brasil, I met her last week (of course, I think it would be crazy to get married without meeting, but I'm only talking about the process  ).

Unless there is a Hotel receipt or something with "both" peoples names on it, not sure how they could prove that the people where together at any point without photo's. At least with pictures you know that the people have met (at some point  ), even if you can't be sure of the time frame (but then they would have the boarding passes etc. to colaborate the dates/pictures).

Ok, my head hurts, I need a nap

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of Having Met in Person in the Past Two Years
I would tend to think photos are critical to a certain extent as well. Boarding passes, and Visa stamps are good, but that doesn't prove that you met, it only proves that you traveled. To me boarding passes, visa stamps etc. is more of supporting evidence to photos, because they have dates on them. Not all photos do, and dates can be faked, but still having pictures together still proves you met. Unless you have a Hotel receipt or something with both your names on it, I'm not sure how just a boarding pass or visa stamps proves you met her. I'm sure people have been approved without pictures, but I think it probably depends on how good your other proof is.

The phone records would be used more to show an on going relationship, not as proof of meeting.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAfter USCIS recives my RFE
I feel so bad for you guys that got recalled petitions, I hope they get to yours quickly.

I think nobody is exactly sure how they are handling the recalled petitions (unfortunetly). I know there have been a few approvals of recalled petitions lately, and I think you are issued a new NOA2, and then sent back to the NVC, then the Consulate.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that is what I read from someone who posted on here with a recalled petition.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLable the RFE Package!!!

I know this has been said before but it's good to repeat things as searching takes a lot of time. I sent back the RFE for IMBRA overnight on the 26th of this month, signed for on the 27th, VSC sent this e-mail 3 times  on the 28th at 7:30pm:

Receipt Number: ************************
Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

On July 28, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates.

I think it was a really fast response and I think it's because I followed these tips:

General Tips on Assembling Applications for Mailing
1. Mark both the envelope and the cover letter as to the nature of the submission. Example: ORIGINAL SUBMISSION - BRIEF FOR AN APPEAL - RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - etc.
2. Use the appropriate mailing address and mark both the envelope and the cover letter as to the form type. Example: I-129; I-130; I-690; I-698, etc.
3. Provide both the receipt notice number and the A-Number as an identifier, if they are available.
4. If the packet is being resubmitted in response to a REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE, please place the notice requesting the additional evidence/information on the top of the packet. Also, please use the special mailing envelope provided. (there is no special envelope)

I also maid a front page copy of the RFE with all it's information and taped it to the front of the package inside the overnight package which had I-129F on it.

I hope it helps and works for everyone!!!!!!

now I'm officially waiting in line, booooooooo!!!!
but I'm grateful!! :)

Sorry for spelling Label wrong ;)

I did the same and I still only got my notification 9 days after they got it.

Awesome news for you, and thank you so so much for sharing the info!

Thanks, and gladly! The people here have done so much to help me out, if I can help in any way in return I'd love to.

I've never heard of having to have your job for 3 months, what happens if someone gets a new, better job before the interview, they are suppose to turn it down, or ask the employer if they can hold the job for them until the visa process is over? I agree with the rest of the things she told you, but not sure about this one.

Hope you can find new work soon!

*shrug* That's just what she told me. It might different if the person evaluating the form could see a consistent history of work. But in my case, I'm a 21 year old college student and this is my first full time job. My previous job was a substitute position, and before that.... umm... I don't even REMEMBER what was before that. So maybe that's why she told me the 3 month thing.

Could very well be

Weird thing is, nikkis, your timeline doesn't show an RFE...

Edit: Oh, woops, but your signature does. Sorry about that.

I'm guessing she probably mailed her IMBRA RFE back to them a week or so ago, and they are now confirming receipt of it (as with most of us it took a week or so for them to acknowledge they received it)

Um, yes, I think you're right. I read the timeline too quickly.
