USCIS Service CentersLetter from USCIS and Congresswomen
Same here, we were told that our case has been moved into security checks about 5 months after we had filed, and it took another four months to get them done and finally have it approved!

I don't think it will really take another six months for you! Between 3 and 4 months seem to be more realistic! That was the time frame others were telling us about during that time, too. sjoefl01 is correct about that!

Anyway, our congressman here kept sending lettes to NSC every two or three weeks, and called them, also, to inquire about the status. Sorry to hear your congresswoman is not helping you much.

Hang in there, it can't be that much longer!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresName Hits
I was denied entry at POE once, too, and it took us over nine months to get our NOA2! I also had to go to the consulate once before the interview took place to have my fingerprints taken.

When I was denied entry, they also took my fingerprints and I'm fairly certain that's why we had a hit and the background check took forever! Since neither of us ever had trouble with the law I can't imagine what else it could have been.

Other than that, it had no negative impact on our visa process. Just be honest and you should be fine!

Good luck!
