Saludos,

Marcela

ok...I have a question for you guys. Andres' Dr. Gonzales appointment is on 5/19, which is a Monday. When should we go to the lab to get the labwork done. The Dr office told us we could go latest that very same day to the lab and that they would get the labwork before our 12:45 appointment. I kinda dont trust the receptionist due to other miss information which I will touch on later. Just to be on the safe side should he go to the lab the Friday before? So it will have time to get to the Dr?

Another thing...Andres is worried that vaccines given days before wont count for the medical. I'ved tried to tell him it will be ok but when he spoke to the receptionist at the Dr's office she stated that any vaccines given before no mater how many days before wont be valid. (this even made me worry) I just need reasurance that if Andres gets them done at the red cross the Tuesday before his medical they will be valid.

Let me know!

Diana B

Hi Diana, I would get done the lab on friday, just to be safe. About the vaccines, i got all shots on Dec 27, almost 3 weeks before my doctors app. and had no problems with dr Gonzalez. Do not worried about that, you will be fine

HELLO EVERYONE IN COLOMBIA CLUB.
I WANT TO POST THIS AND I HOPE THERE IS ANYBODY HERE WHO CAN HELP ME, I AM WORRIED
MY INTERVIEW IS TOMORROW AND TODAY I WENT TO PICK UP THE RESULTS OF MY MEDICAL, YESTERDAY THE DOCTOR MARIA GONZALEZ TOLD ME THAT EVERYTHING WAS OK.
TODAY THEY GAVE ME A CLOSED ENVELOPE FOR THE EMBASSY AND A VACCINATION DOCUMENTATION WORKSHEET ATTACHED TO MY VACCINATION RECORDS, AND THE CHEST RESULTTEST.
MY CONCERN IS THAT ON THE INFORMATION FOR VACCINATION SHE WROTE ON THE RESULTS:
IT WAS MARKED VACCINE HISTORY INCOMPLETES
APPLICANTS MAY BE ELEGIBLE FOR BLANKET WAIVER(S) BECAUSE VACCINATION(S) NOT MEDICALLY APPROPIATE (AS) INDICATED ABOVE.
THEN I SAW ON THE INFORMATION FOR THE TD IT SAYS INSUFFICIENT TIME INTERVAL AND FOR THE VARICELLA SAYS THE SAME THING.
I HAD ALL MY VACCINATIONS DONE 8 DAYS BEFORE THE MEDICAL APPOINTMENT AS THEY RECOMMEND ME WHEN I CALL FOR THE APPOINTMENT.
I HAD THE TD, MMR,AND VARICELLA.
CAN ANYBODY EXPLAIN THIS TO ME PLEASE?
HAS ANYBODY RECEIVED THE SAME RESULTS AND BEEN APPROVED?
SHOULD I BE WORRIED?
PLEASE HELP.
THANKS
FAITH11.

Hello Faith 11!!

Don't worry about it, mine was the same, I called Dra Gonzalez office and asked the same thing they explained that is because you need a second shoot after a month. I'm looking at my vaccination documentation worsheet and it says the same as yours. My visa was approved and I'm already in the US...
Good luck at the interview tomorrow!!! everything is going to be just fine

Hello there!! I’ve been away for a while but I’m back now putting papers together for the AOS process. I have a couple of questions (silly questions) about the forms; I will appreciate your help if you know the answers...(I posted this on the Club Colombia AOS, maybe I could get some answers here too good.gif )

Here I go!

Should I file with my new name?

Form I-485 Adjust Status
Part I
Current USCIS Status? (K-1Visa??)

Expires on?? Which date should I write? K-1 Visa expiration date (July 2008) or I-94 (April 2008)

Part 3
A.
Were you inspected by a U.S Immigration Officer?

Form I-131 Travel document

Part 3.
Processing information
1 Date of intended departure. Don’t really know when I’m coming back to Colombia

2 Expected length of trip ?????

Part 7

On a separate sheet of paper, please explain how you qualify for an advance parole document and what circumstances warrant the issuance of advance parole. Include copies of any documents you wish you considered. WHAT SHOULD I WRITE HERE

On the instructions said that I must attach a copy of any document issued by USCIS showing my present status. Which document that will be?

Here we are sitting in the office at Bob's place in Bogota, and going thru the list of possible questions that might be asked to Sandy. One thing I have noticed, that even though many S/O have attended the interview, seems that none of them are being questioned??? I am trying to prepare for possibly being cross questioned. Any advise????
Other than being there, for support with loads of photo's, e-mails, telephone call history (excel spread sheet 1300 calls) reciept's from trips to Colombia, bank statements, tax returns, new I-134, my passport am I missing anything??????
Please tell me we are prepared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JAJAJAJAJAJA

HOLA STEVE & SANDY! YOU GUYS ARE READY TO GO.

I´m nervous too. I didn't sleep last night..
Good thing my fiance is on his way to Colombia, I can't wait to see him, he is not worried at all!! I've been the one getting all the papers ready and I'm afraid I'm missing something. Hopefully tonight we will have time to go over the questions and documents!

I will see you guys tomorrow at the embassy!! Mucha suerte!

I have one quick question...Leidy and Daniel will be traveling tonight, there is a tax that has to be paid...anyone know how much it is???? an is it per person??

Hi Byron just called information and they said for 2007 (they didn't know about 2008)

Impuesto de salida 55,000 colombian pesos or 26 USD

Tasa aeroportuaria 67,000 colombian pesos or 32 USD

around 60 dollars per person. You should check the tickets sometimes part of the taxes are included, have Leidy call the airline just to make sure.

I hope this will help.

Panamá is great! my fiance and i went on june for a couple of days (for my birthday, and we oficially got engaged over there) we had a blast! we found a very good deal on travelocity.com, stayed at El Panamá Hotel (all inclusive, great food), very close to the Canal, Casinos and the Mall (very cheap stuff) we rented a car, and drove like an hour to the beach (Colón).
you will have to pay 5 bucks to get a tourist card to enter Panamá. I didn't know about having to prove that you are just visiting... that is sad!

You guys should go!!! and take lots of pictures!!!

This is not true, everyone needs to check with their local DMV office. I called them a few months ago and they said that in Colorado a Colombian driver's license is no good. I believe Andrea told me an international DL in Colombia costs about $250K pesos, but I'll just have my husband start from scratch and we'll save that money.

As for the vaccines, we called both doctors last week and Dra. Gozález's office said they had to be taken within the last 30 days, and Dr. Roa's said 8 days. We don't buy it and since I'm going with my husband I plan on fighting that battle with the office. It may be a lost cause because they'll do whatever they want to do, this is Colombia we're talking about after all. But I'll raise hell for my own sake.

Diana

Maybe things have changed. when i was there on a tourist visa and on a student visa, i was told that Colombian DL is good while you are doing your papers, is valid for 6 months from the first entry in the US (passport).

Hello!!! the Colombian license is good in the US (and in any country) for six months

to get an international drivers license in Colombia is easy and is good for one year. you have to call ACC Automovil Club de Colombia, to ask for the fee (i got mine 2 years ago, don´t remember how much i paid) you need Colombian drivers license, 2 photos and the money, it takes like an hour, and then they will give it to you, is a little book with your picture and some info in 5 diferent languages...

i hope this is good

saludos!!!

hello!! thank you all for the welcome!!!!
I read the whole thread and i'm still confused about the shortcut.... i do understand the tracking process, what is not clear is what documents should i send (fax and servientrega) once the approved petition gets to the embassy in bogota. all packet #3?? i know is a silly question but i want to be sure

thanks!!!!

Marcela

Marcela,

Are you sure you read the whole thing? This is what Lucho said you should include in packet #3 (más claro no canta un gallo)

Shortcut - Fax packet 3 to the embassy. This will save you at
least 2 weeks if not more by doing so. I would advise to send the
packet 3 via courier as well (i.e. Servientrega)

Packet 3 Contents:
1. Cover letter
2. Copy of fiancée's passport (biographical data page)
3. DS-230 Part 1 (pages 1 & 2)
4. OF-169

The cover letter should be simple and brief. Include the BGT case #
on the cover letter.

Diana

QUOTE (Antonio y Olga @ Jan 10 2008, 09:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
We have the baptismal certificate which is supposed to be notarized. It is notarized in our case but by the church (Curia) which in my mind is exactly what should happen. I have one slight doubt however that this document needs to also be notarized by a regular notary.

Is that necessary? or is just the curia's notarization sufficient? I will appreciate your replies to this question

Hello!

The baptismal certificate does not have to be notarized nor by the church or by a regular notary.
I had the same question last week, because I read it on the COLOMBIANOS EN VISA K 1 thread in spanish and I wasn't quite sure. http://www.visajourn...h...8366&st=840 page 57

So is not necessary. If you have more questions you should check the Colombian Club thread found in the Foreign Embassy forum, is in english and is great help!

I hope this helps you!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAffidavit of Support Notarized or not
QUOTE (Antonio y Olga @ Jan 11 2008, 06:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The VisaJourney page containing information for the Bogota embassy indicates as part of Packet 4 that *I-134 Affidavit of support. (notarized)"

I believe this is an error that needs to be corrected, first the form is not I-134 but I-864, also, Packet 3 instructions and other VJ's indicate this form is not notarized.

What I understand is that for the petition I-129 you have to submitt the form I-134 notarized. That's what we did. Also my fiance will bring a new one for the interview just in case.
You will need the form I-864 for the AOS process this form is not notarized.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswhat is touch???

A touch means when your 'last updated' date in the USCIS site changes. That implies that they looked over your papers or are working on it. No need to worry at this stage though. Touches usually appear when you are nearing the approval stage which takes about 90-120 days from NOA1. Just be patient and you'll get it soon.
