Middle East and North AfricaQuestion about wedding ceremony
These are all good questions. And from reading this, it sounds like the two of you respect each other's backgrounds and religious upbringing, which is great!

As soon as my fiance and I started talking about engagement and marriage I made an appointment with one of the priests of the church I go to in my neighborhood. He was very helpful. Since I am catholic and my fiance is greek orthodox I wanted to cover all bases before we started planning anything.

I found out a lot of information from the priest and he even brought up things that I didn't even think of to discuss with my fiance.

We now know what we want to do. Get married in the greek orthodox church, have his priest and my priest present and we will raise our children catholic and our children will go to greek culture/language school.

I know this is a different religious situation then you but reaching out to your priest can be a good thing and my experience doing that was very helpful.

Good luck on your decision and I know you will figure out a perfect way that the two of you can be married and bring everything together nicely.

Middle East and North AfricaLet the babysitting begin
My fiance is not here yet but I am always thinking "will he like it here?". I live in Brooklyn and commute on the subway to Manhattan for work. When I walk home from the subway I look around my residential neighborhood and think "it looks better than his neighborhood in Athens" so that is OK. I look around my apartment and think "it's pretty and I have plenty of room" so that will be OK. Then I look at my commute and cringe. I can't even understand the conducters announcements on the subway when they decide to go express, skip a stop, sick passenger delay, re routing trains, how they hell will he??? But I think that will be the only problem. He loves TV and 300 stations here compared to 6 in Athens, he will love it. We are 1/2 hour away from Astoria (Little Greece) and that will make him happy to "Cous Cous" with his fellow people and he has an Uncle and cousins here that he can visit. So I think the subway is the only thing for him that will be difficult. His family plans on hiring him for work so that is great. So, we shall see. He is a quick learn and I crack up when I hear him speak to me using my slang and the same sayings. So, Brooklyn bound, here he comes. God BLESS HIM!! Hahahaha!!

Middle East and North AfricaK1 to K3
We were thinking of leaving the K1 and doing the K3. But then we got an additional 3 month extension on our K1 and decided to keep going with it. Plus, I looked into what is needed to get married in Greece and it is just as burdeonsome as doing a Visa process. I need certified copy of divorce decree, certified copy of my birth certificate, then I have to have them translated into Greek. Then I have to go the Athens Embassy and swear under oath that I am free and able to marry and then get their sworn affadavit in Greek and English. All of this before we even apply for the marriage license. And last but not least we have to have our announcement of marriage put into the Greek newspaper and have it all in Greek characters. Auuuuuggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So we are sticking with the K1 and praying that we get everything done soon and get approved.

Good luck with what you decide to do.

Congrats on getting your dress, apartment and APPROVAL!!!!
I know the feeling about not knowing when the wedding will be but I did the same as you, I got my dress. I have done lots of researching on Church, band, reception, flowers etc. but nothing I can reserve. But the wedding dress will always be ready for that special day.

Middle East and North AfricaSaturday
Good Morning from New York!!!
Woke up with a phone call from my baby. He is working so hard this past week, double shifts at work.
It's Saturday and raining. Perfect day to sit in my PJ's, drink a cup of coffee in my favorite mug and chill out.
Once I am fully awake I am getting dressed and doing my laundry, then grocery shopping and should get my oil checked on my car. Actually I should have the car looked at first.
This weekend I think will be the last one that I can really relax. The next couple of weeks at work are going to be crazy. It's very busy this time of year. I work for a large brokerage firm and all of our new clients want to be opened and running before year end.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! Can we say STRESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
Here's to all of you for a relaxing weekend

Middle East and North AfricaAre you bored...
Amazing the timing on this thread. I feel like I am in such a rut. Our daily phone calls are now every other night. He is getting more and more busy with work and I am getting more and more used to not getting daily phone calls. I have been waiting 6 months for his divorce papers and they are on their way to me now. But I am just tired of it all. I want to start our lives together so bad. I day dream of the day he tells me that he has his Visa, I think of our wedding day, I look at Bridal magazines, I tell everyone that asks "still waiting". It's all so frustrating and draining on the emotions.
I physically feel weak now. Before I was so gung ho and energized, now I just feel like a dead horse who keeps getting kicked. Ugh!
We still talk about our days, what we have had for meals, the family, the weather, our days at work, etc.
I just hate sleeping every night without him. I hate this LDR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But the only thing that keeps us going is the big picture. I am praying for a November approval and pray he will be here by January. Hopes, dreams, positive thinking and most of all praying is what gets me through.

I know this sounds strange but I also pray for the Immigration employee that is handling our case. That they feel our love for each other through our paperwork and that everything we submitted is surrounded with God's love.

Middle East and North AfricaFuunies situations you had ?!!!
I have two stories.
First one was when I was living in Greece with my fiance and his family for one month, it was Laundry time. So I asked my fiance if I can do the laundry. In a few seconds his mom shows up and I said "NO", I can do it. I didn't want his mom doing my laundry. So after a few minutes of tug and pull on my laundry bag I gave in. A few hours later I am in the bathroom and I look out the window to their back yard and there I see all my THONGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Multi color hanging on the clothes line for everyone to see. Their backyard is surrounded by at least 8 neighboring apartments! I was frozen!!!!!

The second story is a toilet story. I didn't know that in Greece their plumbing is bad and when you wipe they put it in a trash can. Who Knew!?!?!??!! So for a month I am flush, flush, flushing away. Toilet paper, tampons, feminine wipes, you name it.
Then one day I hear all this commotion going on in the apartment, banging on a door, yelling, etc. I asked what fiance what was going on. And he said that their stupid tenant was in big trouble for blocking up their pipes and his father and brother in law were letting him have it.
Then I see his father pulling the drain out back. I still didn't clue in that I was the cause of this problem till I saw him snake out a tampon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT WAS ME, I told my fiance and his eyes were the size of saucers when he realized I didn't know about the wipe and trash can method.
I felt horrible that the tenant was almost killed for my error.

Middle East and North AfricaDo you spoil him?
I bought him cologne last trip there. Bottle of Johnny Walker last year. My first big purchase was last week and he got it today. I bought him underwear, undershirts, 3 three t shirts, socks and a jogging suit. I had too, his stuff is soooooooooooooooooooooo worn to death!!!!!
Is this considered lavish????

Middle East and North AfricaBaby names
Peter Alexander for a boy (Peter after my dad, Alexander because we both like it)
Dorthea Rose for a girl (Dorthea means gift from God in Greek and Rose because that's the symbol I prayed for when I asked God to show me the sign of the rose when I meet the right man. My fiance showed me a picture of a rose on his cell phone when he first asked for my phone number. And it's my Great Aunt's name).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVermont office wants additional information

Awww hope you get it resolved quickly!!!!

:luv: Adele

After reading as much as my brain can take on this topic, I have started preparing documents, phone bills, bank statements, photos, emails, mail, cards, etc.

Hopefully something out of this jungle of paperwork will be what they need. No notice in the mail today. Hopefully it will be in the mail tomorrow to let me know what they require.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVermont office wants additional information
My fiance and I completed all the required paperwork, I even added additional info. like flight schedules I had and pictures of us and our engagement announcement. I received an email on Saturday that they have sent me a notice requesting additional information or evidence. But in the email they didn't say what that was. So now I am waiting "painfully" to receive this notice in the mail with the details.
Has anyone received this? What kind of additional information will they be asking for?
My fiance and I are dying over this. We have been separated since January and not know how much time this is delaying us is pure torture.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI got the RFE today, not what I thought it would be...
After waiting since Saturday, I finally got the letter in the mail. The information they are looking for isn't bank statements, phone bills, emails, pics or letters. In fact, they need more proof on my fiance's divorce. Evidently the document we submitted with the english translation wasn't the actual certificate of divorce but the request for the divorce. So for a Greek divorce we need two documents, one from the church and one from the courts. So off my fiance goes to speak with his lawyer tomorrow to get these two documents, with english translations and copies of all documents back and front. Ugh!!!!!
Hopefully we can get this in to the Vermont office soon. We have a deadline to get this in by July 16th.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWait for RFE !?!
Don't worry. I got an email on a Saturday April 22nd stating that they sent me a RFE notice. We have applied at the Vermont office. The notice came in the mail on April 28th.
I know the feeling, every day I raced home to see if it was in the mail. It finally got here.
Wishing you patience!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE notice---A BIG let down
We got an RFE too. I got the email on a Saturday April 22nd and the notice in the mail on Thursday April 27th. While I was waiting I was stressing over what they wanted, because they didn't say what it was in the email just that they sent the notice. I think they love to torture us, ha! Anyway, I started collecting all sorts of stuff like my phone bills, emails, pictures, bank statements, flight schedules, Christmas cards from the family, drawings from his nieces, etc. By the time the RFE came in, it was for none of that. So now I have a huge envelope of stuff, but hey you never know. It may come in handy later. Well the RFE was for my fiance's divorce papers. WHat we sent in was the request for divorce and not the final decree. So, he got that from the lawyer and is dropping off today to get the English Translations.

Good Luck and I hope it is quick and easy for you.

Also, they gave us a large time window to get these papers submitted, we have until July 17th.

I was also questioning that. My birth certificate is also blank on the back but I kept making a darker copy of the back and the seal was starting to make a mark. I also wrote on the copy and stated that the back of the certificate was blank.
I try not to question anything, just jump the hoops and keep on going with their rules. UGH!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE
I'm an RFE loser as well, ha!!!! I was disappointed to get the email telling me it is sent but no further info. SO I had to wait, and wait, and wait, only 4 days, so it wasn't that bad. Then it was for info. I didn't even know we messed up on. So, now I wait for my fiance to get the docs. translated this week and hopefully get sent to me via courier so I can get them by next week and get it off to Vermont. Yeah, we are on hold as well. It sucks, but the good thing is we were able to get the docs they needed, whew!!!!
Hang in there, things like this happen and we just have to jump the hoops and do what they want. The end result is soooooooooooooooo worth it all. (L)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan someone help me, please, with concerns I have about my fiancée’s birth certificate and divorce documents?
I don't know about China, but my fiance sent me his divorce petition with english translation and I got a RFE. They said that the petition is not sufficient and they need the actual final divorce certificate with english translation. Also, the english translation has to state that it is a full translation of the document and that they are competent to translate the document. I hope this helps.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI am ready to pull all my hair out!!!!!

This is a difficult process we are all in and the long distance is a nightmare.

Omg it is; you're completely right. But -- to try and see the bright side to all this -- or at least the bright side of the Long Distance Relationship part -- lots of people get into and maintain for LONG periods of time relationships that are based primarily on physical attraction without any deeper substance behind it, but if you're so far away from the person, your relationship HAS TO BE deeper than that and you have to have LOTS to say to each other too or else it's impossible to maintain a connection. I know that doesn't compensate for how much everyone misses their fiances/fiancees of course, but anyhow, it sometimes makes me feel better to think like that. Also, maybe later on, after we're all married and settled into a life, the experience of separation will help us not take our spouses for granted the way so many married people do as the years go by. Anyways, just some thoughts (L)

I completely agree. The distance, the time frames, the dead lines, hold on planning a wedding, the "I don't know" answer when everyone asks when he will be here, the counting down of days to get me closer to when I will see him again. It's all so stressful. But everyday I thank God that we were brought together. I thank God for such a wonderful person he is and the amazing family he came from. He is everything I have always wanted. And I know this is an experience I will never forget. It's just that "now" is what I am have a difficult time getting through. And I know the drain it is on him. We both try to have fun and keep busy during the days but it's his voice that I hear on the phone that re-connects me to the deep love I have for him.
God I can't wait for the day I drive to JFK and wait for him to come out those sliding doors with all his luggage.
You must be so excited that you are coming so close to your timeline to be complete!!!!!!
Don't forget to conttinue keeping us updated even when he is here.
Ciao!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI am ready to pull all my hair out!!!!!
Wow!!! I didn't think I was going to get any responses to my MELT DOWN!!!! I thought I was the only one going through this phase. Happy to hear that I am not alone. I read everyone's responses and most of them made me laugh. I don't know if it's a Male thing, or a Mediterranean thing or just an ANDREAS thing. Maybe it's a combo of all three. I know that my personality can be quite annoying. My sister reminds me of this almost daily. I tend to be very ####### about a lot. So I am taking a deep breath, considering Yoga and trying to go with the flow. We have a dead line for the RFE but it isn't until mid July. So I have to be thankful that we just started June.

As for another member remembering my other thread about Andreas not calling in 2 days. He did call to tell me that he hurt his foot pretty badly at work. He twisted his foot at work going down stairs. Since he has been in Mykonos the phone calls are now about every other day. Not like before when he was in Athens and we spoke up to 3 times a day. I just got spoiled with that.

The good news is I am going to Mykonos in July. Got the days off from work and am going for 8 days. I can't wait to see my baby.
This separation is getting to the two of us. Andreas had a melt down on the phone the other night and BEGGED me to come to Greece, stay with him through the process and he would pay my bills while we wait together. It was hard to hear him like this. I just started my new job in April and this is a good paying job that will help us with our paperwork down the road. Especially when they ask for my income, letter from company about my job, bank statements etc. Thank God he called me the next day to apologize for losing it the other night.

This is a difficult process we are all in and the long distance is a nightmare.

Thank you all for listening, you really do help me so much. I feel like we are sitting at a big table, eating, drinking and swapping stories. It is Great!!!!

Oh, and this is Andreas' favorite line "Relax, relax, it's OK, no need to stress" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I will be bald by the time he gets here!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI am ready to pull all my hair out!!!!!
As you can see from our time line, Andreas and I have been put on hold because of the RFE. I received it in the mail on April 28th. I told Andreas on the phone what Immigration needs from him. 2 forms, with translations. It has taken him 3 weeks to get the documents with translations. GREAT!!! But then he decides to go to Mykonos 2 Friday's ago. As he is getting ready for his 3 hour trip to the island I ask him if he got the papers. He says "Yes", I then ask, did you mail them. He tells me no, he doesn't have time because he has to leave for the boat. He tells me not to worry, he put them in an envelope and his mother will mail them on the following Monday. A whole week and half passes and no papers in the mail. I ask him every day, did you talk to your mother, did she mail the documents. He finally calls me today and tells me that his mother never sent them, that she thought she was supposed to wait until he called her and told her to mail them.
WHAT IS GOING ON WITH HIM!?!?!?!?!??!!?!??!? He knows that this is important, and he knows that we are on hold until I get these in to the Vermont office. So now his mom knows to mail the documents. I WANT TO SCREAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHat is the hold up!!!!!???? Why didn't he mail them???????????? Why did he leave it to his mother to do???????
Please Lord give me patience!!!!! And then to top it off, he has a melt down the other night saying how much he misses me, how he wants me to go to Greece and wait with him through the process and how this is so difficult to be apart from each other. HELLO!!!!!!!! Am I the only rational one in this situation!???!!!!
MAIL THE FRIGGIN DOCUMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGoing Out Of
I have a similar thread going called "I wanna pull out all my hair". My situation is different but I am going through the exact emotions you are. All I can say is this site is really helping me, just knowing I am not alone like David and Goliath (me and IMMIGRATION being the giant). It is grueling, stressful and depressing.
Can you believe I have been having chest pains, went to the doctor today and the doctor asked me if I have been going through stress. I almost started crying right then and there and my chest started to hurt. Look what Immigration has done to us????????????????
I wonder if I can file a law suit due to horrible health conditions brought on by their so called PROCESS??
Just kidding, but not really, my chest does hurt.
Anyway, just wanted to say that I hear ya! I am rooting for ya! Try doing something to destress. Today I went and got my hair done, the highlights look fab!! Tomorrow I am going tanning since we have been having rain. A little UV rays can't hurt.
Rent a favorite movie, pick up a book you have been meaning to read. Write in a pretty new journal. Put together a beautiful scrap book of pics, your story on how you met, and ideas of your wedding in the scrap book. Listen to some good music. Invite some friends over for a BBQ, Sangria wine with apples and oranges is a good pick me up :P
And for all the pent up anger you have...... exercise, let it out. I finally had enough of moping around that I started exercising again this week. Taking walks, stomach crunches, etc.
I hope this helps sweetie.
Keep us posted, and remember, you are not alone!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI'm taking a jet plane.......
Entering our 5th month apart, Andreas bought me a plane ticket to stay with him in Mykonos. 5 more weeks and I will be with him. It's only for one week, but I don't care, if I could just have a minute to see his face again I would be happy. This trip is really needed. Sorry for always complaining on this forum but the stress has been getting to me. Every day it's a different emotion. I fear he will give up and think this process isn't worth it, at times I don't think I have the strength to go through the wait and being apart, my friends all say they could never do what we are doing, my parents say to hang in there he will be here before I know it, and on and on the thoughts go around and around. I am a sound sleeper that now wakes up all hours of the night. If he doesn't call I freak out worried that something has happened to him or some bikini clad hoochie convinces him to have fun and live for the moment. AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
This is all bad, I know. So bad that it has affected my health. I had to go for an EKG last Saturday due to chest pains near my heart. Passed the EKG with flying colors but now have to go back on Thursday for a sonogram on my heart.
So I am taking my Vitamin C for immune system, Omega 3 for my cholesterol, Magnesium and Calcium for strength and heart.
And all I want is for my best friend, my love, my everything to be here with me. :crying:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F and K-1 Process
Hi!

Happy to see another Greek member! What I did was as soon as I got my NOA1 in the mail, which you should be getting in a week or two, you can go to www.uscis.gov and sign up to receive emails from the site. You can track your status on this site and they will send you emails to your personal email notifying you of the process. So if you are in Greece, just go to an internet cafe and log on to your email or you can go to their site and log on to see the status.

Go to the K-1 section of this website and on the top it has the guidelines and time frames for the process.
Once you receive and email that your application is approved. Then is when you need to start tracking the flow carefully.

Good Luck!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInfoPass
I used the Info Pass here in New York. I don't think it was really beneficial, you go through security, then you wait for your number to be called then you go up to a window and the people that work there are in a race to answer your questions and proceed to the next person.
I had questions on the documents I was filling out. To be honest, there wasn't anything they told me that I already didn't know.

I got most of my information from the www.uscis.gov site and this site.

As long as your read all the forms carefully and make sure you use BLACK PEN, you should be fine.

My biggest hurdle was getting my fiance to spell everything to me over the phone and since you know the greek alphabet and the english alphabet is very different. I needed a lot of patience with him to get everything on his end spelled correctly.

Wishing you lots of luck and pisti through this process.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStill waiting for RFE papers to come to me from Fiance.....
Hello everyone. I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday. It has been a long week for me. Moved from one office location to another and got all settled in. Attended meetings, worked on projects, listened in on conference calls, chatted with co-workers, chatted with friends during the week, went for walks, shopped with my sister. SHe is getting ready to go to Puerto Rico for 10 days vacation next week. And behind the scenes I am SCREAMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE ARE THE PAPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I received our RFE in the mail April 28th. I told my fiance what he needed to gather. It took him almost a month to get. Then he leaves the papers with his mother to mail to me because he leaves for the Greek Island of Mykonos to work and "keep busy". And here I am in a bustling city with lots to do and everyday I race home from work to see if the papers came in the mail. NOTHING!!!!
I admit I have never been a patient person. I always want everything NOW! NOW! NOW!!!! This is really killing me. I have prayed so much for patience, I printed the lyrics to the gospel song "I surrender" and keep it in my bag and read on the train commute to work. Any time I start to fret I pull out the lyrics.
All I want, like everyone here, is to start my life with my love. My mother said to me the other day "Sweetie, I know you can't see this now, but you have found one wonderful man, who is doing everything he can to be with you. He is giving up his life to come to a different country, language, culture to be with you. This is a wonderful time for you because you two have gotten the chance to really know each other. You talk about everything over the phone. You have learned so much about each other, your dreams, your fears, your past, your hopes for the future. You can tell from his tone of voice if he is worried, happy, tired, anxious, and he knows your voice the same. You look forward to his calls and enjoy the letters you write. You are having an old fashion courtship. He will be here soon and I you both will never forget how hard you fought to be together". That felt so good to hear from her.
But I Still want THE PAPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta go and get ready to have friends over for the US vs Italy game today!!!

P.S. Thanks for being here for me. You all have helped in so many ways :D

HI all,

Just wanted to tell you about my entry into the US on the K1 and my POA experiance.

Came in through Chicago, gave over the yellow envilope to the lovely lady, she asked me Steves name, what he does, and asked Emily if i was her mom, which she said yes to, thank goodness, lol. They where all lovely at Chicago.

She said she would be sending the package to Oklahoma Immigraration Services and that all was good. She said please marry before 90 days and then file your AOS, and Welcome to the USA.

So now im here with my Steve after 9 months of doing the K1 visa. I cant believe this part is over and i wont have to leave Steve again:)

For all of you doing this please bear with it, its so worth it in the end.

Thanks again for all your help and support over the last 9 months:)

Thank you for sharing with us. This is what I dream to happen soon.
Bless you and your family with much love and wonderful times ahead!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOK now I am really confused???????
Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

On June 27, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates.

OK, the June 27th was the IMBRA form I sent back. But how can the "preliminary processing was complete"??? I still haven't received from my fiance his papers that they requested in an RFE in late April. They gave us a dead line of July 17th to get these sent in. I am so confused!!!! Can anyone make sense out of this?
Do you think they mean the time will be shorter based on the July 17th dead line to get the first RFE completed? Instead of the dead line on the IMBRA RFE that reflected a deadline in September??

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI need advice....
My time line shows this. April 28th I told my fiance that the Vermont office need his final divorce decrees form the court and the church along with English translations. It took him till May 19th to get all of this. Then on May 19th his bags are packed and he leaves for Mykonos to work for the summer season. But the crucial thing is he leaves the papers at home in Athens and says not to worry that his mother will mail them. I, of course freak out over this news. I wait 2 weeks for the papers and ask my fiance if his mother mailed them. He tells me that he got hold of her on the phone and she had not mailed them. He said she thought she was supposed to wait for him to call her and mail them. I, of course freak out over this news.
So then he tells me a week later that his mother has mailed them on "Friday". He doesn't give me a date, just Friday. I, of course freak out over this news. Now it is July 1st and still no papers in the mail.
I love him but I want to kill him right now. If she mailed them, she probably mailed them regular mail.
Does anyone know how long regular mail from Greece or European countries takes to come to New York?
I am freaking out because we have a dead line of July 17th to get the papers to Vermont.
Also, I am leaving for Mykonos on Saturday July 15th to spend a week with my fiance. So I MUST HAVE THOSE PAPERS no later than July 14th so I can over night them to Vermont.
Please, can someone share their thoughts on this?
Of course all my ego fears are devouring me. I am afraid the papers are lost in the mail. I am afraid his mom didn't mail them, I am afraid that the case will close. I am having a melt down and all I hear from him is "relax sweetie mou, its OK, its in the mail, any day now".
HOW CAN I RELAX???????? We have gotten this far in the process and now we are on hold!!!!!
What do you think? How would you handle this?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI am sad to say....
I took the advice given to me and I called the service center today. I explained the situation and they told me to make a copy of the RFE notice and write a letter requesting an extension and Fed Ex to Vermont.
So I did, I felt better just knowing that in this difficult situation I can at least attempt to do something to try and give us more time. There are no guarantees that they will give us the extension but at least I can say I tried.
So I made my copies, wrote the letter and Fed Ex'd it tonight. It will be delivered Friday AM.
Thank you all for your support, concern and advice.
My brain is all scrambled about this and I love him and I know he loves me.
All of this is my fears coming to the surface that I may lose him. Also, we are both at two extremes on how we live our lives. He is veeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy laid back and I am veeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy task oriented and #######. I will go to Greece and talk about this. Because this is the one thing about his character that gets under my skin. I want us to discuss how we can find the middle ground, meet half way. I will learn to loosen up but I need him to meet me half way.
I will keep you posted on what happens.
All of your positive thoughts are needed.
Thank you everyone!!!!!
