IMBRA Special Topics	Approved IMBRA Waiver	I GOT APPROVED WITH A WAIVER...WOKE UP TO THE EMAILS TODAY. BYE BYE USCIS!!!!! I will post a copy of my letter later today, I've gotta get some work done. Thank you everyone TurboGuy, FWAGUY, Roger (and a few others), for being supportive and helpful with this whole waiver issue. I know it's only part one, we still have our interview, but I'm not worried about that. I hope this gives some others hope that the waiver is not the end of the world, you can still get that NOA2 - and mind you I didn't get any touches or RFE's! thanks again everyone! IMBRA Special Topics	my X wife obtained a protective order against me.	This sounds like one of those things that attorneys do to try to influence the judge in the favor of their client. If there was no police report, no other action other than divorce settlement, I would say you are okay. But, just to be safe you might spend the money for an hour with an attorney just to be certain. I would recommend that you review the IMBRA law before you send anything in or consult with an attorney. I don't think this action is considered in anyway as a conviction. Just my opinion having gone through the divorce process myself. In my case the judge threw out the attempt to restrain me from seeing my kids or anything regarding my ex-wife. Unfortunately a number of divorce attorneys will use this tactic even when there is no evidence to support such an allegation. Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, too many times attorneys will use whatever it takes to help their client get the upper hand. I noticed the word CONVICTED it the IMBRA law. I have never been convicted of any crime. IMBRA Special Topics	my X wife obtained a protective order against me.	My first marraige ended in 2003. My X wife got an emergency protective order against me and when we appeared before the judge, the judge put the order in effect for 1 year, No contact or communication for 1 year. Asia: East and Pacific	Hotels in Manila	This site will help, Precision Reservations, just narrow your search down to Ermita or Malate and you will be within walking distance of the Embassy. I never stayed at the Best Western, but have stayed at the Pan Pacific, Diamond, Hyatt, Exec Plaza, Palms and a few more. Ken & Maria Has anyone stayed at the Best Western? It has some good reviews. Looking for a place to stay while at the interview. The bayview gets really lousy remarks so definately not staying there. We are on a budget so cant spend more than 55 a night. Thanks. Orimai Rosas Garden Hotel is a nice palce to stay. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. The rate is about $40 per night with 1 free breakfast. Rosas Garden Hotel 1140 M. H. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Any Motel suggestions for my wife stay at in Manila during medical and interview?	Hi Everyone- Well its getting close to the interview. I dont know whos more nervous-Myself or Marie But anyway-I was hoping someone might be able to tell me a good place for Marie to stay at for the interview and medical exam. The total time will be about 2 weeks I think but depends on how long it will take for the Visa to be issued. She insists it doesnt have to be anything real nice, just so its clean and has cable television and a shower. Something kinda cose to embassy also-she is worried about getting caught in traffic. Thanks Ahead of time- Gary If u want the closest and you need not worry about the traffic, then i suggest Bay View Hotel which is across the Embassy. My husband and I stayed there in May and we paid around $70/day. The room is okay and clean. My fiancee and her Mom stayed at the Bay View for a week and said it was good. If you want something a bit cheaper you can try the Swagman. I stayed at Rosas garden Hotel. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. I paid about $40 per night and it includes free breakfast. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	JAN 2010, FILERS	We made an INFO PASS appointment for this morning, trying to get the I551 stamp, coz we didn't want to have keep up with the extention letter when we go back to Philippines. We explained to the officer that we filed in January and hadn't heard anything since the biometrics on March 2. The officer looked up our case and said " you were approved on June 4, Oh, today is June 4..You were approved today! What good news to hear... She took my wife and son's passport, took out the I94, took their 2 year card and stamped their passports with the I551 stamp. Our online status hasn't changed nor have we gotten an email. Philippines	Asian Spirit Manila/Catarman	HI, Just wondering if anyone has flown Asian Spirit. It's our only choice from Manila to Catarman Samar. I emailed them from their website but they haven't got back to me yet. I'm wondering how full the flights are from Manila to Catarman and how far ahead I need to pay for tickets. Also wondering if i can pay for the tickets with mastercard. They have 3 flights per week from Manila to Catarman Samar on a 60 seat turbo prop. I guess I might have to call them instead of emailing. We need seats on the plane for July 7th, I hope its not too late to get 2 tickets. I have flown Asain Spirit before. I have flown from Manila to Surigao city. Ailene works at the airport in Surigao so its easy for her to buy tickets in advance. Philippines	WE ARE APPROVED	congrats! can you pls tell us how was her interview experience? thanks and have fun! okay here it goes: 6:00 am we walk going to us embassy, we just stayed at rosas garden hotel. i saw lots of people waiting and falling in line outside and some seated inside. as soon as me and my son get there, the guard ask me the time of our schedule...i said 7:30 and he let us in. i show them my letter of appointment and passport id. and let us in to the waiting shed. my friend from davao saw me, she came early at the embassy and she let me sat beside her. 10 minutes after they let us in inside the embassy. when we are inside... the guard told us to take a sit and wait for us to be called...we are sitting by line again. there are lots got there numbers already those who came first... later than that when im about to go the cr, the guard told me to go and submit my form to the counter where they give us assigned number and explain to those who wonders that i have kid..those who got kids will come first. i follow with those who have kids then. i submitted the letter of appointment, 2 copies each of ds156k for me and for my son, 2 copies ds157, one from the bank notarized and a xerox, and 1 ds156. and they give me 5002 number. some number were called to different windows already, i wait for a while then my number flash at window 20 for Preliminary interview. the man was so nice...they only ask for my nbi, original bc of me and my son, cenomar...he let me put at ds157 form the name of my fiance and sign it.... he ask for some proof of evidence...i give him my cute picture album which has like thirty five pictures and our postal mails...only that...i offer him some of the evidence like iterinaries, hotel receipts ect...but he said this enough for strong evidence hehehehhe.. he keep looking and read those papers the my fiance send/submitted to them and the explanation there and he ask me what happen to the ex filipina wife...i told him their marriage life doesn't work that long...he keep reading and then he ask the affidavit of support, he forgot to ask the ITR so i told him "here is the ITR sir" and he said thank you coz he forgot to ask it hehehehhe. then he told me to sit and wait for my name to be called for finger scanning. i sit beside my friend and we talk for a while then names were called for finger scanning...our name were last called for first batch of scanning, but me and me son went to the line quick and we are in the third line hehehehehehhe. they scanned my fingers and for my son, they just want to see the face and said "he is a sweet angel" LOL. and then we sat again beside my friend and talk (my firend is from davao we have same category but she has no kid), she ask me whats next i said i dont know, for like 5 minutes my number flash again for window 29...and its the final interview... i went to that window i greet the consule a sweet smile and said good morning sir...i talk to him straight and answer directly his questions and look to his eyes while were talking. he was a nice American man...he don't ask me much... he just read everything in the papers....he only ask for my fiance name, address, month he visited..he also ask my son a question..he just ask for his name and age...my son answer him correctly and he said wow nice...hehehehehe .....he just look and scan the papers my fiance send to them and our pictures he like the pictures we have at siargao island hehehehe it was a nice place though, then after that he give me smile and said "you are approved and hope you are happy....wow i said yes im so happy...and i thank him. i sit down again and my name called at window 37, they give me the pink slip and my letter of appointment...then i pay delbros its 165 pesos each...then went out the embassy at 8:30... thats all...good luck and god bless Edited by meadeguy, 02 August 2007 - 08:42 AM.	rogail	Male	Philippines	2007-08-02 08:38:00

Philippines	2 Days of Medical	UPDATE: I had my pulmonary evaluation earlier. The pulmonologist told me that 3 out of my 3 sputum test were negative. The least I was thinking was 2/3 Thank God! Really.. She said, I do not have to take another test anymore and no need of taking medicines for TB anymore. But I will undergo follow-up check ups again when I finally get to the US.. Ready for my immunization on monday! Woow. Finally. After going back and forth to SLEC for 7 days now. THANK GOD! Julie Thank goodness!! I know you have less stress now.
