You live in the mansoora? A friend of mine lives there! They asked me for the same thing. My husband lives 3 hrs away from Sanaa, and there isn't a street name or address, so gave them the name of the village and nearest city and two cell numbers. They sent me an email yesterday asking for these information yesterday. IA we both hear something good.

I was checking your timeline and you've been in this process for such a long time!! Allah ya3eenk.

Elgamee Ya Rab. Now my two older children who I applied with my husband and two younger children have finally been approved at USCIS after 3 year and 4 months. My son will be turning 18 on October so that's why I'm asking NVC to expedite their cases I need him to enter the states before he turns 18 so he can become an American citizen automatically upon arrival. So insha'allah we all get some good news soon. And I'm still waiting for my husband and two younger children's AP to be done its going to be a year in ten days since they've been in AP. ALLAH KAREEM.

What kind of address did you give them? Just city and country? For phone numbers did you give cell or home?
When did they request them from y?

I gave them the address I used for their visa application. I live in aden so I gave them the house number and block number cause its in the mansoora and floor number and two cell numbers. I really don't know why they ask for them.

For those that tried to get their case expedited, did they ask for a foreign address and two foreign telephone numbers?

Yes and I'm still waiting for their response.

Just got another message from the embassy they're closed tomorrow too.

United States Embassy, Sanaa, Yemen
Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Embassy Closed May 7, 2014

May 6, 2014

Due to recent attacks against Western interests in Yemen, the U.S. Embassy in Sanaa will remain closed for consular services through May 7, 2014. The Department has been apprised of information that, out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting the Embassy, indicates we should institute these precautionary steps. It is possible we may have additional days of closings as well, depending on our analysis

My bad sorry guys I meant May not June.

So does that only mean people who need an interview appointment or everybody in general will not get an appointment until June? I am wondering because i was under AP but my case was reviewed on April 24 and they replied back saying when an appointment is available they will let me know.

I got the same email on April 10 but I didn't get an appointment yet. Insha'allah we all get good news soon. As for the appointment scheduling for March, April and June they are focusing on old cases like administrative processing. My family will be in AP for a year in two weeks. So I'm praying for a call soon.

thank you for your quick reply
i don't know if it was a mistake or they meant to do that cause they interviewed her twice
the first interview was on mar the 16th they told her everything looks good and gave her a pice of paper says they will call her within a month
then they call her to go on sunday she went to there and interview her again they ask her too many questions and told her they will do AP .
also my wife saw her visa and my daughter visa were stamped in thier passports .they do not reply to my emails

insha'allah khair. AP doesn't take long for women and they will worry if the visas will expire so she should get a call soon. You should contact your congressman and senator the embassy always responds to their emails. If you don't mind me asking how did you become a U.S citizen.

MY wife visa status changed to AP YESTERDAY it was before issued , but my daughter still issued how long the PA takes

It's probably a mistake cause when it says issued it means it is already stamped in the passport. Don't worry insha'allah they will call her soon for pickup. Just incase email the embassy and ask them what is going on.

Do you mean march, april, and may of 2013 or 2014 because if you mean 2013 than that is just pathetic that the backlog is that bad.

2014 that's what my congressman told me.

Salaam everyone,

Can someone help me understand this. My i129f got approved and I got the notice of approval today. In the notice it said the approved petition was sent to the consulate. Is that right? I thought they send it to NVC?

Did u first file an I-130 or just an I-129f because I got the same approval letter when I filled both for my husband and they were approved at the same time. If you filled a I-130 and its approved then the I-129f is cancelled and the approved I-130 gets processed.

HI antsar.
CAN you tell us. WHAT did you ask the embassy .
OR can you explain more.

Hi my husband and two children had their visa interveiw on 5/19/2013 everything went fine but they were put on Administrative Processing. My congressman and senator and I have been sending emails for 10 months and they always say they are still on AP but now I received an email saying that a consular officer has reveiwed their cases and they are waiting for a appointment date to be free so they can give us instructions on what to do next. I'm hoping that my husband will get a call soon to drop off his and the kids passports so we can be done with this journey already. Insha'allah he will get a call soon and everyone here will get good news soon.

So u werent asked for a new AOS? They jus told u to wait three months for the call?

we weren't asked for anything they just told us to wait and this was normal routine.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsInterviews in San'a, Yemen

Hi Antiseir, I was just wondering what was the reason that your husband was put under administrative processing after his visa interview? Cuz my husband has been under AP for 4 months now but its becuz they said we needed a new AOS we sent in a new one exactly a month after my husbands appointment still no reply to this day, they jus say a consular officer hasn't reviewed our case ??

The consular officer said everything was good and we weren't asked for anything else and he copied all our documents so we wouldn't have to bring them when we get a call from the embassy to drop off the passports. He said it would take around 3 months but who knows he said. The embassy does what ever they please. It's been 10 months and no call yet.

How long did it take for your husband to get his interview after the case was complete at the nvc

our case was expedited it took a month

It took you a year an half to get approved in the united stars you mean? Because that's what I am talking about. My husband"s case just got traveled to the local office here in the United States. And no approval yet an I know that once they approve it it has to be sent to the nvc an ask for the sponsor which also can take a while and then to Yemen which will probably take even longer. I am just starting this journey, bas Allah will make it easy on all of us inshaAllah

yes it took a year and a half at the California service center in America

salaam everyone,

I am new to this visa journey, but I filed for my husband (i-130) on april 30,2013 and until now I haven't heard back for an approval.  On nov 2013, they sent me a notice saying it was transferred to the Nebraska service center and then on march 5.2014 they sent me an email saying it got transferred to my local office for "additional processing".  It will be a year since I filed by April 2014 and I still haven't got anything back.  Did anyone go through the same thing or is going through the same thing?is this normal?

Don't worry my husbands took a year and a half to get approved, now we are in administrative processing for 10 months at the embassy waiting to get a call to drop off his passport. The embassy in yemen is the worst. I hope u have better luck then we did.

As this thread does relate to the CR-1 process and Site Administration wishes to keep all immigration process related posts together I am moving this thread back to the CR-1/IR-1 forum.

I will remind everyone that English only is to be used in the forums outside of the Regional Forums.  This has nothing to do with prejudice or racism but is a purely practical requirement as English is the one language everyone in the US is supposed to have in common - and this is a forum for immigration to the US.  Even though this thread is about a Consulate in Yemen, it is located in the Immigration forums and as such, needs to abide by the English only requirement.  If you absolutely have to post in another language then you need to be the one to provide the translation into English, whether you are using Google Translate, or not.

While this is the internet, this is also a privately owned website and is governed by the rules set out by Site Administration.  Site Administration has determined that English is the language of use on these forums except for the Regional forums where other languages are allowed.  When you became a member of Visa Journey you agreed to abide by those rules, accepting that if you did not there would be consequences.  Consequences include moving threads, removing posts and suspending accounts depending on the most appropriate action.

I will be editing the Arabic posts to provide a translation via Google Translate for these posts, but am posting the official warning that any further posts made in a language other than English and for which  no translation has been provided, will be removed.

Thank you for being so respectful and understanding.

But seriously, Ryan does "work" for this website and is moderator/organizer. He moved this to the Middle East forum in order for others dealing with Yemen to respond. You can write in Arabic here. And give your opinions!!!!!

No I think he moved it just to show off he has power because I replied to his first comment that he made on this thread and I guess I didn't like my response. LOL

First of all this topic is about interviews in Sana'a and Sana'a is in Yemen and Yemen is a Arabic country if you didn't know that, and secondly what are you doing reading this topic if you aren't from Yemen and you already received your visa and are already in the States and finally a friendly reminder some people aren't as lucky as some people and know how to read and write perfect English so sometimes they need to reply in Arabic.
