PhilippinesHand Deliver I-129F
QUOTE (Jomo @ Nov 3 2008, 11:50 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It wouldn't help you anyhow.

Mail it off and sit back and enjoy the wait.

Seems like that's the consensus, thanks to all who answered.

Oh well...I had my fingers crossed for a while there...maybe to get a boost in processing speed.

PhilippinesHand Deliver I-129F
Hello all...

Because I live in beautiful New Hampshire, I am only a short drive to the Vermont office.

Is it a good idea to drive over there and hand deliver my I-129F package? Maybe I can just camp out there until they get it processed? hahaha

Anyone done anything like that before?

I've heard what they say about the 'squeaky wheel getting the grease'...or would it just bug them and make them take longer?

Welcome in the Family !!! you are in the right track, feel free to share and ask anything esp with your visa journey. I am Tagalog but met a new ( BisDak ) friends here in Texas, They are wild but sweet and nice girl..We do chat conference everynight for us and day time in Phils, she may join and start a new friendship while she's there.

You know...I feel so very welcome here. This is the same kind of warmth and friendly smiles I experienced during my short visit in Cebu.

"Wild but sweet and nice girl" hmmmm...is her name Jocelyn? hehehe..seriously that sound just like my honey. We chat online as often as she can get to an Internet Cafe in Lapu Lapu. She doens't have a computer at home and she has to travel a tricycle and multicab ride to get to a cafe. The time difference makes it difficult, but we manage to chat almost every day.

My YahooIM name is mojoputter2000 and Jocelyn's is Baby Ash

If you see us online, I'd love to chat with you sometime!

Welcome to VJ good.gif I loved Cebu and wouldn't mind living there part time but my wife wants to start a business in Cagayan on Mindanao so I guess my future lies there. I told her she can have the chicken farm but she doesn't want to do business with my partner so I guess we will be doing a festaurant and little grocery store in Bayabas tongue.gif What, me hen-pecked....naw blush.gif

Good luck with your VJ trip. I know you can get lots of good advise here on VJ so you certainly have come to the right place.

Thanks for the welcome. It's nice to meet you!...

I loved Cebu also, even during the short two weeks I spent there...I've been back in the states now more than a month and my head is still spinning with the memories of wonderful smiles and warm hearts of the Philippine people!

I have heard many good things about CDO...I am sure you will love it as much as Cebu.

Good luck...and I'm sure I'll become a real pain with all the dumb questions Im sure to be asking soon.

hehehe

PhilippinesIntroducing New Members
Hello to all in this forum!

I have just found this wonderful resource. All I can say is WOW! There are so many wonderful stories here. I think it will take me several weeks to read and gather all the great information and helpful hints here!

Let me introduce myself. I am 54 years old, an American living in New Hampshire. My last relationship (with an American girl) ended in disaster 4 years ago. She traded me in on a richer, younger guy.

About 8 months ago, a Filipina I've known for a while, said that she wanted to 'fix me up' with a girl she knew in Cebu. This girl (her name is Jocelyn), was her best friend as girls growing up. They remain friends even after she was married and moved to the states. Jocelyn had told her she was interested in settling down (she is 24) and her friend here in the states felt that we would make a good match. She introduced us and we began chatting online.

Jocelyn is a wonderful girl and she stole my heart very quickly and I am so glad she did. We have talked and talked almost every day since that time. Last month I went to Cebu and spent 2 weeks with her and met all her family.

I am working on learning some Bisayan and her English is not the greatest, but we communicate very well, and she is the apple of my eye.

She very much wants to come to the states and be my wife. I will be submitting the I-129 to the Vermont office early this week. I will also be going back to Cebu for the first 2 weeks of December to see her again. I can't really afford it, but I can't stay away either.

Anyway...that's the beginnings of my (our) story. I'd be happy to share more if anyone is interested. I have only read a small portion of the wonderful stories on here and I'm really happy to have found the resource that can help me with the process of bringing Jocelyn here so we can start our life together. I am not opposed to moving back to the Phils if that turns out to be a good thing to do for us. But, I believe for the beginnings, it would be best to start here in the states.

Whew...

Please excuse my wordiness.

QUOTE (nova71 @ Nov 3 2008, 02:22 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi! "touched" means when they(USCIS) updated or looked into your application forms, like if you go to the USCIS website and registered your case their online, they will update you with what's going on with your case, so you will know that somebody is looking at your application or should I say working on your application if the date there has changed..that is what you called a "touched", I wish I made a clear explanation here, oh well, I hope at least you understand my english. I really suggest you go on the USCIS website and register or fill your application number there so that you can check on anytime what is the status of your application.
Anyway, welcome to VJ, your free immigration help star_smile.gif

Thank you for the very good explanation! Yes, I have no trouble understanding your english. To be honest...your english is better than my fiancee's!! but don't tell her that!! hahaha

Thanks again!

PhilippinesAll the Initials!
Hello all..

I've been reading many posts here..and this forum is made up of so many helpful people!! I have seen other forums before and never found one that was so focused, relevant, and supportive!

But for a newbie...all the initials are very confusing, as well as some of the terms...

For example..

I know that POE means Port of Entry and that NOA1 means Notice of Accpetance/approval...but is there list of all the other ones I can use as a dictionary?

Also, there are many terms I just don't understand...When someone is writing their timeline...what does it mean "touched"...does it mean the two people actually get together in person?

Anyway..sorry if this question been asked before..but there are so many threads, posters, stickies, etc...that it is a bit overwhelming for a new person. Even just trying to catch up in this Philippines topic is gonna take me quite a while.

Thanks

Pete

PhilippinesAnyone in Cebu?
Mabuhay!!

My name is Pete and I am stuck here in the states...My sweetie's name is Jocelyn and she is still in Lapu Lapu City, Cebu.

I am wondering if there is anyone here in that area? Would you perhaps like to meet her? She is 24, and is the light of my life. We are just starting this process of the Visa Journey and I am sure she would appreciate meeting any other gals who might be in a similar situation as her to share ideas, information, and maybe just conversation.

Good luck to all who are in 'waiting mode'!

I am 46 years old, a mother of 3 daughters ages 29, 16. and 14, I am a grandmother to two little boys ages 8 and 6 smile.gif .. We are still waiting on the NOA2 but am in hopes to get that this month. time will tell. Not much left to tell lol... ok comon you guys tell me about youuuu

Hello...

I am not in Maine and neither is my fiancee. She is in Cebu, Philippines right now...and I am in New Hampshire...pretty close to Maine, as far as I can tell.

I'd love to have a meet and greet in Boston, or anywhere else around New England, actually. I think it would be very helpful and perhaps make friendships that can ease the stress of waiting and worrying.

Anyway...

Good luck to all!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNovember '08 K-1 Filers
QUOTE (Kevin&Leilei @ Oct 31 2008, 07:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Come on people, I know I'm not the only one to have filed in the last couple days. Or are you guys counting your filing month as the month you sent your petition?

Hello you two!

My sweetie and I just recently made the commitment to file and get together here in the US. She is in Cebu, Philippines right now and I am in New Hampshire.

So, how long will it take me to get the I129F packet from Vermont? I have downloaded it and am filling it out now. What else do I need to include? Is this just a preliminary application after which they will require more information, or do we have to include all the information right from the beginning?

I know there must be links here to explain all this...but the forum is so overwhelming, it's hard to find specific things. What I'd love to have is a list of all the things we need to include in the original filing package.

Anyone know where I can find this?

Thanks in advance...
