Received my yellow letter on Saturday stating that I would need to bring my drivers licence at the time of my interview. I'm hoping to receive the interview letter soon. Do I need to carry other documents (Tax Return, Proof of Relationship etc) at the time of interview?

Thanks for asking. I finally received the returned package from USCIS on 12/11/2010. I prepared everything again with the correct check amount and resent it on Monday (12/13). It was received on 12/14 at 11:38 AM by the same person (as before). One good thing USCIS did was that they has sent a green paper asking me to put it on top of the application and they will process it with priority. Not sure how true it is but it certainly makes you content :D Can you please update me? I appreciate the great work you have been doing :)

OOOOOOPS.....I sent a check of $675 rather than $680. Not sure what I was thinking when I sent the check. It should be comming back anytime soon. I have to resend it.

Hello everybody. First of all i want say thank you all for being so supportive. I am looking answers for bench of questions i have on line and through attorneys. And its the only place where i felt that i have some chases. I am living the most hard part in my life now. My future depends on whats gonna happen next. And i am trying to find anything that could help. As i have read some posts in your forum i can say that most people here felt the same and can really support and sometimes be more helpful then some attorneys are. So just want to tell you all tank you, you made me fell much more better.
So my story is. I came in US as a student. And met my husband. We got married, i get my conditional green card, we lived together for a little more then 1 YEAR. Then things get worse. He changed a lot as he felt that i depend on him a lot. He controlled me, every step, I couldn't go outside without his permission, and always should be accompanied by him. So we had a lot of fights because of that. It was really hard time, i went to my country to visit my parents and when i came back he just left. So my card expires in the end of May. I am not divorced yet. It is time for me to file I571. What my lower said is to wait for divorce to be complete (which is 6 more months) and then file everything. But i did some reading and as i get it is better to file now before my card expires which is before the end of the May. And then just send them divorce papers later. Right now i am in the relationships with another men. We really love each other. He helped me a lot to survive my worst times. And he is the only person i want to be with. We really want to get married, but i am not divorced yet. I know that i need evidences. And i do have joint tax return for 2007, joint medical insurance, i have been hospitalized and used that insurance, we used to have join bank account, but it was closed later, but i have checks with both names.And of photos as well. So if somebody knows answers :
1. Should i wait for divorce to be complete and file I571 when i get divorce papers. ( i am sure my Green Card would be expired by that time).
2. Should i file I571 now and attach papers showing that i am filing divorce.
3. My Feance will become citizen in 2 years. How can it help us?
4. What are my chances?



If you do not file before your green card expires, you will be out of status and won't be able to file for your green card renewal after the expiry date. You can file it now and get the extention letter and then you can provide the divorce decree later.

When they update your status online, you should receive something like this:
"On [month] [day], [year], we mailed you a notice that we have approved this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."



This is how my status shows up

Claudeth had to make sure she had the long form birth certificate that lists the parents. She got her NBI clearance from a local office in CDO that requested the national clearance, not the local one. http://www.nbi.doj.gov.ph/ You need to be aware of the CFO certificate that Filipinos must have if they are moving over-seas. http://www.cfo.gov.ph/ She will need to get a passport. http://www.dfa.gov.ph/

What area is she from? She will need to go to Manila for the medical and the interview. I got my wife (fiancee) and her Mother a room at the Bayview right across the street from the embassy for a week. It wasn't all that expensive, I believe it cost me about $160 for the full week.

She is in Quezon City now, I have read all the guides, but they do not explain what is the correct birth certificate to have, and she is shy so she will not ask a lot of questions she gets scared about the whole process. I know some have suggested she get on here but she is not that familiar with computers, basically just checks email. That is why I was thinking if someone else was going through the process then there would be comfort there having someone to talk to. Again thanks for the replies, I will be asking questions again :D , I will read all the guides again..

We are just starting on our journey through the K-1 visa process, Now to the question, My fiancée is in the Philippines and is not sure of where and how to do some things, I have read all the guides and sent her what she needs to do, but she still is real unsure of things. For example she got a copy of her birth certificate but does not know if it is on the security paper that is required, she said its yellow and ask it that the right one, I do not know.

So basically what im asking is if any of the members here that have already started the process in the PI, would not mind if she ask them questions or needs someone to talk to about how things work. She does not know much about the internet, I have told her about this site but she does not know how to surf that is why I cut and paste allot of things to her but she has more questions I cannot answer. If you know of or would not mind helping us out we would appreciate it very much. Just I'm me and I can provide contact details to you, take care and may we all reach our ultimate goal.

well if ur going to send money thru western union, yes she can get it in dollars..
she will have to tell the in charge that she want to get the money in dollars!

if she has a peso then she can buy US dollars in any bank or money exchanger!



No im not sending through Western Union, it to expensive, im getting a money order for 2 dollars then sending in package to her. I just want to make sure she can change it easy. Thanks for the reply
