Mexico, Latin & South AmericaEl Paso to Juarez Consulate

Is this a bus service? I can't find them online

No it’s a company. The driver did mention he was advertised, I say listed in the website for the airport. Here is the link.

My link

There are some phones close to the exit to the airport on the right hand side towards the car rentals. The airport is small which makes it easy to get around. I recommend Paisano but there are others. I called a few some had a two hr. wait. After being apart from my husband for two years and seeing him every six months, two hours was too much for me
So call around. Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with.

I'm debating whether or not I should fly direct from San Antonio to Ciudad Juarez (for $300) or if I should cut the price down to $170 by just flying into El Paso and crossing into Mexico on foot.

Is it difficult/dangerous to take a cab directly after crossing the bridge into Juarez? I'll be taxi'ing to the Ciudad Juarez Airport.

Anybody have some first-hand experience of this?

$50 each way.

 :D

Thank you so much! I was worried I had to walk i just wanted to go straight to our hotel! How did your waiver appointment go lovAton? And when was your first interview? I hear they are taking a while to schedule waiver appointments.

My process has taken a little over two years to get to where I’m at today But I Have learned so MUCH Okay I submitted my I-130 in Feb 2010 It took until about July to get an interview date. I was very happy that same day since the person at USCIS told me she was going to approve my petition. There was some sort of mistake in a form that my case was not sent to the NVC like I was told and sent in the NOA where it said that I should let 6 months ago by before I either was contact by the NVC or for me to call them. 6 months went by; I call and inquire on my case, SURPRISE! My case was sent out to the file storage facility to consolidate my husbands A number file with my petition because my husband was out of the country by then. (He had voluntary departure in Dec. 2009 ) This was their mistake that cost me 6 additional months before I heard anything else. We finally completed the NVC process and we were given a visa appt. date of 1/17/2012. That was my first trip to Juarez I didn’t want my Hubby to have to worry about how to get everything done plus the interview itself all by himself. So we meet at the hotel (It was all on me to figure the hotel, my transportation and expenses.) on 1/11/2012. I wanted to give ourselves some breathing time before appts. just in case. His medical exam was on Friday morning, he was told to pick up the results on Monday. He had his biometrics appt. on Saturday morning. Explored on Sunday picked up the medical results on Monday and freaked out until Tuesday 1/17/2012 the day of his Visa interview. I waited outside of every appt., so after two hours he comes out and said he spent more time waiting to be called from a series of windows, I guess you turn in docs in one, pay at another and get interview in another? Time consuming for being asked about 5 questions. He was given a blue sheet with a checkmark where it said and was also told he was eligible to apply for the I-601 waiver, and my WORK was put on 4x4!! I started working on the waiver and getting all the supporting documents and reference letters together. I wrote my own declaration explaining my whole situation, 12 pages after I was done and had it edited. I also spent so many hours researching everything I could find on I-601 information. There are some good ideas out there we just need to look or ask our waiver appt. was scheduled right after the visa interview so it was on 4/17/2012. This was my recent trip. Well after exploring the first time we knew exactly what we wanted to do. Well the day of the interview my husband went by himself and I waited at the hotel (I didn’t feel so good) We stayed at the City Junior it’s not fancy but it’s good for maybe a second visit after you know how the area is like. He took 4 hours for what he says was just personal service we provided with taking the waiver docs and payment He said he took all that time just to go to two windows. One where he turned in the waiver and told it would be reviewed an immigration officer. We should hear something in about two to three months. and that is where I am today WAITING!!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaTraveling to Ciudad Juarez. Border Safety

Ive done this. I wrote it on a previous post. I took the greyhound, so the bus left me not too far away from the border. I got a green taxi, called border taxi, and me charge 50 dlls around 2pm. THe driver was very nice and he assured me the streets to the hotel are safe and well transited. He took a fast gate into mexico, i think he paid a couple of bucks and a mexican agent checks your bags and asks obvious questions... if you have arms, drugs, fruits, money (large amounts that have to be declared). On the way back the misiones taxis are 250 pesos to the border. You probably dont know what a missiones taxi is, but you will. They have bases in the mall and around the consulate, they are safe and well known. You can also ask the border taxi which taxi to take back, theyll probably tell you the same thing.

The most cheapest way is Paisano transportation from El paso airport to the door of your hotel. $50 each way. There is a mall near by and is safe. There is a movie theater and a small casino at the mall aswell as an arcade place. Im my past experiances Juarez is as dangerous as any big city. Dont go out at night. Dont let people know any personal information and you should be fine.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaTraveling to Ciudad Juarez. Border Safety

Hi guys. We are withing 13 days of traveling to Ciudad Juarez for the visa interview. We are kinda worried about how safe it is to cross the border. We are taking a flight into El Paso and plan to take a taxi cab across the border into our hotel. Does anyone know from experience if this is possible? I have heard some people say thehave to cross over by foot and take another taxi inside Mexico. We really would prefer not to do that. Any help will be appreciateed. :help:

I did that in January and I also just came back from the waiver appt. Im a 30 yrs female and I had to travel and meet my husband in Juarez at out hotel. The first time I went to Juarez I used Amigo travel which was kind od hard communicating with since i used them to and from and i was charged $60. It was ok, even thought the driver did try charging ten dols more! But this last time i used Paisano Transportation and I loved it!!! The driver took me from the airport to my hotel in juarez. He only charged me $50. Also when coming back give the service a call that you plan on using since, waliking takes for ever and so does driving and it takes a couple hours to get out of Juarez. My flight was at noon I had to leave the hotel at 9.

I rather spend 100 total round trip in transportation to and from el paso, which is so much cheaper then flying into juarez and This company made mee feel safe. The driver is very much reliable and can make reservations before your travel date so you dont have to worry thye day of.!!!

Good Luck and let me know if I can answer any questions. :P

i was looking at ibis hotel, any experience with this hotel?

thanks!

I know how you are feeling right now! My husband’s visa app was in January 17, 2012. I just came back from our waiver appt in Juarez. Look there are many hotels close to consulate. My tip is to check with Travelocity and tripadviser.com. The rates are constantly changing. Same with flights! I recommend going to El Paso and taking a shuttle service to your hotel. I have taken two shuttle services and felt safe traveling alone. The first was $60.00dls one way the one I just took I would recommend, The driver is an older gentlemen who is very nice and respectful. I can’t remember his name but I do have a card I can let you know if you like his info. E-mail me at rosalovaton@gmail.com. His number is (915) 346 2655. He also advertised in the El Paso airport website:http://www.elpasointernationalairport.com/2009/grnd_trans_shuttle.html he only charges $50.00 dls. He is willing to arrange transportation even before your trip so you have everything set up when you arrive. Tell him Rosa from Arkansas gave you his information. I was so happy with his service I want him to know I appreciated the service.
Hotels: Well the first time I stayed in Juarez in January 2012 I stayed at the quality inn. I looked until I found a good price. Here is the link for hotels near the consulate: http://www.tripadvis...ico-Hotels.html
Here’s a list of all the hotels I saw nearby:
  • Quality Inn Ciudad Juarez
  • Microtel Inn & Suites Ciudad Juarez
  • City Express Ciudad Juarez
  • Holiday Inn Express Ciudad Juarez
  • Hotel Ibis Juarez Consulado
  • City Junior Juarez Consulado
The nicest I would say is quality inn, but I stayed in the City Junior hotel which is right across the street from the consulate. You can cross the street either by bridge or cutting across. I liked The City Junior because the mall was right across the parking lot. There are many good food places around American as Mexican. I recommend Molcajetes. The employees are great, food and food prices were very good also. There are many places that will deliver to the hotels at very affordable prices. As I mentioned before they have a two story mall with a movie theater, small casino and Arcade center. We had so much fun between stressing.
We just kept in mind of safety precautions like not staying out when it’s dark, No flashy clothes and accessories. There are also ATM’s at the mall and a money exchange place nearby. All these places are at walking distance. There are so many people just keep to yourself and don’t let anyone convince you that they can help you. The consulate and the clinics and services are all on the same side of the street and easy to get to. There are many security officers at the clinic gates that they can direct you.

For the medical exam try to be there early to get out early, do not eat anything before the physical. They don’t mention that until you are there. Good thing we did everything early. The vaccines can get costly; there is a list of the average prices in this website: http://travel.state....c/nvc_1335.html
Well hope this helps.
